I have a question about using plexiglass covers on arcade sticks. I have already made an arcade stick that has the plexiglass cover being held down with 4 carriage bolts around the joystick (it is a Happ Competition joystick). My question is would my 8 Happ and 3 Seimitsu buttons be enough to hold down the plexiglass without any screws or carriage bolts of any kind being used at all? (not even in the 4 corners of the arcade stick). Thanks in advance for any help given.

Well I'm not a pro or even an intermediate on the subject (I've only modded one stick), but you'd have to somehow bolt down the buttons. I don't know if that's what you were thinking but you didn't mention that in your original post. If you just keep the buttons in without bolting them down, then they're only being held by the wires, right? Thus not keeping the plexiglass bolted at all. As for how to bolt them without damaging them, I have no idea.
It sounds a bit scary to me just keeping it down with the buttons, but like I said, I'm a total n00b on the subject. You'd also have to consider the weight of the stick (if it is connected to the plexiglass) and if it offsets the weight of the buttons. Hopefully somebody else will provide more information.

happ screw ons are like a screw and bolt you can get it to be held down if there and some spread out all around but seeing as how you probably didn't put buttons in the corners or sides the plexi still can be seperated from your base. you can do it just dont try to lift up the sides =P

I just realized that you're probably referring to a box with holes drilled for the buttons and stick and you are going to put a plexglass on top of that. I was referring to the plexiglass sheet being suspended all on its own.
That being said, I still don't know if it would work so don't take my advice. I'm just clarifying.

That's kind of what I figured. I'm just scared that if I tighten the buttons down on one side of the stick, then the side of the plexiglass with no buttons will begin to lift up a little bit.
