i brought a cheap vga box for the dreamcast, and im using it on a lcd monitor and the picture sucks.

for most fighters it looks really pixelated

is there any settings i can put it on to fix this?

the games look pixelated, but the lifebars look better... if you noticed,

In the case of CvS2 the characters are low res, and the everything else is high res. This is normal.

I have a really dumb question... exactly what IS the VGA box? I'd like to get one but I don't know what it's supposed to look like.

I'm assuming it's some sort of contraption with two cords coming out of it, one of which plugs into your monitor, the other plugging into your Dreamcast. Is that correct? Does it plug into the Serial hole of the console? The AV Out? How do I make sure I'm still getting sound?!! Oh good heavens I am so confused.

If I'm going to buy one, is there anything in particular I should be looking for, or to avoid? Are there any particular brands that are notoriously crappy or tremendously great? My town sells groceries and gas and not much else so this would definitely be an online order.

There really are no bad vga converters for DC.

Its a converter box that has a power cord you plug into the wall to power, you plug the DC into it, then a VGA going from the box to a monitor. Poof.

I had one, but its not worth it the pain for it. Plus, it doesnt look good enough to deal with, IMO.
