I hit BCC today for the usual Firday afternoon showdown and it was a pretty good turnout. I got to talking with a couple of folks (including a great player who turtles like the end of the world. DAMN CAMMY!) :mad: and left them the URL for Shoryuken and these forums. Hopefully they'll come online and start up conversation with the Brampton players. As for today...

AWESOME MATCHES! Oh... my... God. :eek: I went 17 - 5 (I think it was five losses, might have been six) with THREE OCV'S (Kim rules it hardcore). BCC was pretty packed by the time I got there at 4:00pm. I don't think I managed to get a win until my third or fourth game though. I lost to the master turtle player and then lost to um... that other guy who used throws better than I did.

Ever seen CvS2 lock up with Sagat just jumping in the corner and the timer still going? That happened today. :lol: You know for a second I didn't think the old man was going to re-imbursed the two players.

Anyway, the turtle player left and without him to take me on it was time to unleash the streak. I had thirteen wins in a row with 3 OCV's. I think I won 10 of them literally with a millitmetre of health though. Players are getting sooooo good that every match is becoming a heart attack. I finally lost to a guy I should have destroyed to be quite honest but played stupid and sucked on Raging Storm after trying cross up Claw Dive. :(

Anyway, we're going to try and get a tournament into BCC. I think I might try a different approach and ask them if I can put a sign up sheet on the machine for a certain date. If we get a certain amount of signatures (16 minimum I guess) then it might help persuade management.

I dropped into BCC with a written proposal for a tournament. The verbal route didn't take well but it was with the old man who doesn't speak English properly so this time I went to his daughter (an adult you sick FUCKS) and left the write up. She said she'd either speak to me the next time I'm in BCC or call me as I left my number(s). Hopefully it works out.

Today was solid fare for games. I managed to go 13 - 3 on the day. My rolento is managing to suck the meat missile on new and more innovative levels. I don't understand how Matt, Jason and Rich's Rolento is so bad ass and mine bites such tremendous balls. Anyway, there's some new guy in there that's always with his girlfriend (same guy that ended my 13 game streak last week). I got my revenge in our first match but made a stupid mistake and ate Rock's dumbass super yet again for the loss and an end to my second five game streak. :(

Gandhi, how'd you fare today? I think I beat you (did I?) but then I left. Hopefully Turtle Power got the job done.

I feel like I'm having a conversation with myself. Anyway...

I talked to the manager at BCC today. She said that she's going to call head office about permission for the tournament because unlike Skybox, they don't have the key to the machines (idiots). So we're 1/2 way there. I can't see there being any issues from this point unless HO is a bunch of cocksmokers.

As for today; it was a slaughter. :p I went 16 - 2 with two OCV's. Lost to Gandhi on both games. I HATE YOUR CAMMY! HAAAAATE HER!

I'm going to post an advertisment for Shoryuken.com on the CvS2 machine on Friday afternoon. Hopefully it'll draw people into the forums and started the ever coveted war between Brampton and Sauga (which we'll win). :cool:

Justin yo after you left, I took out Shin Akuma then saw the guy who uses Rugal, his name is Piron (Spelling?) anyway, went back there played him, he uses Ratio 4 Rugal pretty well, says that's all he needs! We just went back and forth, I just wish I can sit down with an A Groove team, but maybe I'll stick to Akuma, Sagat Cammy seeing as how I can just pull out those wins!!!!! Turtle Power ROCKS! hehe all about defense, now let's see how Sauga plays, I bet they're no match for ANYONE here, NO WAY they can touch us.

In truly disappointing news, the manager at BCC shot down my proposal for a tournament. She said that head office wouldn't let them run it (aka wouldn't give them the key to the machine). I pleaded my case again and I get the feeling she's going to call other Wizards Castle affiliates to see if they actually run tournaments (hopefully they won't lie).

Went 10 - 2 today with one OCV. Total experiement team with Cammy/Rolento/Vega(2). Rolento would be so much better with an air throw. :evil: Probably go back this afternoon when the big Friday crowd is there but of course use the top team.

I think I'll ask around to see how people reacted to Yuhin. I'll probably get "he throws more than you do." :lol:

No offense James but you guys didn't play any of the top Brampton players today. I'm really surprised at the small turn out for a Friday afternoon but aside from myself, none of the top say... five - seven Brampton players were there today. It's hardly a worthwhile comparison. You guys basically played some guys that were on your (like you and Chris) level. Like I said, no offense but the guys you fought today weren't a good means of comparison.

Anyway, today was really fun. It was great to see Sauga crew (at least some of them) in BCC.

- Chris's win over Yuhin was unbelieveable.

- James will never retire as I go 987654321 - 0 against him and keep the streak alive.

- Yuhin's Sagat corner CC is a bitch and 1/2

- I forgot to mention MvC2's damage is through the roof. :lol:

- No one in Brampton uses A Groove. It was hilarious seeing people freak out over stuff like Sakura's uppercut CC.

Oh yeah, BCC sticks > Skybox Sticks > ORBIT sticks > VF Sticks. :p

Anyway, I'll probably bring a couple of players with me when I come to the next Skybox tournament. Odds are they won't be placing that high but they've got to face better competition if they're going to improve.

I put the sign up on the machine. I'm surprised it's lasted two whole days without someone being an asshole and taking it down. Yeah Friday afternoons are usually the most busy thought it seems random at times. Wednesdays between 4:00 - 6:00pm are fast becoming the most busy afternoon though I don't know why.

R4 Dan? *shrugs* I don't think I've ever played you though I'm never in BCC on Saturday afternoons (pretty busy day as well).

I haven't a clue who you're talking about using an R4 Bison though. I know one guy that plays R4 Rugal but that's about it. Leave a message here on what days you're free and I"ll come to BCC to take you on.

Line Of The Day: ULTIMATE RUGAL MY ASS! :lol:

I told Gandhi to show up at 11:30am for a few games. The little brother of one of the better BCC players was there and of course ran his mouth (that kid never stops trash talking). He kept scamming games off his friends. I can't believe I pulled out a six game streak using Cammy/Rolento/Vega(2). Anyway, finally lost and Gandhi handled the kids.

I spent the early hours of the morning learning how to use Chun Li. It'd been about three weeks since I last used my DC and my execution sucked balls. :bluu: So I took Chun Li into BCC with Kim and Vega in the back and didn't do too bad. Gandhi and I exchanged wins for a bit and then I started to streak again. Then Ultimate Rugal (what's his real name anyway?) shows up with his R4 Rugal crap. I beat him once but after that took a beating over and over.

Grabbed Burger King (UGH! WHAT WAS I THINKING?) and came back to unleash the fury that only comes with a whopper in your stomach. :evil: Rugal's team went down the toilet and he left looking pretty pissed off. SCORE! That was the start of the fifteen game streak as various folks (including that guy that kept beating me with friggin Joe) took their shot at me and Vega got the job done game after game including an OCV after I chose him first by mistake.

Eventually no one was willing to play me :lame: and I beat the game. I think I ended up with around 25 - 30 wins by the end of the day because I had the fifteen game streak, the six game streak and small streaks here and there.

* Gandhi, keep practicing with Kim. You picked him up so fast and even used some combos that I don't pull out. I think you can chain c. lp - c. lk - c. mk - low range slide kick but I'm not sure.

They took down the advertisment I made for SRK. :( I had it taped up on the speaker in BCC and now it's gone. I guess I'll post another one and hopefully more players see it as we could use more Brampton players in this thread.

Yep, they still haven't fixed the buttons despite people pleading with them to do so. The 2P Roundhouse is messed up and the 1P Fierce has (as you put it) "a mind of it's own." That's how I ended up with my OCV today. It went off when I hit Roundhouse to skip the character switch screen and chose my R2 Vega as a result. :mad: Hopefully a tech guy will show up and we can get the buttons fixed. I get the feeling the sticks are starting to go again as my execution was WAAAAAY off today on complex rotations like Kim and Terry's Supers and that's usually the first sign that the down+back or down+forward is starting to go.

Safe Justin, I appreciate you letting me use Kim, and I am gettin' used to pulling off shit with him now, he feels like a Guile but with no fireballs. I got school tomorrow on Tuesday, and I'm gonna give him a run at York U, so I'll probably sit down with Kim, Sagat, Cammy (2). Eventually I'd like to ditch Sagat I think but I'm not sure yet. The dude who keeps referring to himself as "Ultimate Rugal" said his name was Piron, or Pyron or ... I don't know how it's spelt. Always great to have a game against you, maybe some day I'll be able to get some York U people down to BCC, but I don't know how that'll go down. One of the guys I talk to there uses A Groove: Mai, Geese, and alternates the third between Rolento or Sagat. and another guy uses A Groove Kim, Kyo and Ken. I'll knock down A Groove some day maybe! Anyway one of those guys says there's a lot of good Geese players at Scarborough town centre, I'd like to check that place out sometime, but with more info first as to when's a good time. Just something I'd be interested in knowing is ........ (sorry I got a cell phone call ... what was I talkin' about again?! ...) oh How many of you guys who read this have this game at home? Heh, the "STC Scrubs." I haven't got a clue why they're called that considering a lot of them are above average - great players. I've never set foot in STC before but have played their guys at Virtual Funland and ORBIT. Some are good, others are... not as good. :evil:

You ever have those days where your execution goes to hell? That was me after hour #2 at BCC today.

I went 13 - 7 on the day, which is a lot worse than normal and made even more worse considering I lost the last five matches consecutively. Just brutal...

I started using Chun Li as a main character in my team and it worked out pretty well. It'll be a while before I figure out how to chain combos and stuff but when I do it's going to be on.

I left the URL for SRK with more folks today and made sure to tell others to come into the forums as it appears a lot of Brampton players already knew about the site but never visited the real lure of the page that is the forums.

STC Scrubs is basically what they all used to be called cuz well they were all shitty scrubs who sucked a lot. SF scene became pretty big when MvC2 and CvS1 were at their prime and if you look at the elite players of those games back then and compare to who you have now its retarded how much has changed. Basically the elites ran those 2 games, im talking easily 20+ game streaks each time.

But most of the elites including me hit post secondary and stopped caring. The scrubs found out about SRK so they started following us if they found out where we would be and x-copied our tactics.

So yeah i guess they aren't scrubs anymore buts its funny when we say STC scrubs can beat saugas best.

Anyway, according to Jay only losers post about the games they played that particular day so here's THE MOTHERFUCKING LOSER LOG! LOOOOOOOSER!

I had one hour between my eight hour shift and working another five hour shift at another store so I headed to BCC.

Highlight Of The Day: Undefeated at 16 - 0

Low Point Of The Day: Having to leave knowing no one could have beaten me unless God himself walked in, first kicked me in the balls to ensure I couldn't play right and THEN played using only top tier.

I finally met up with my old rival who I had named "Glass Honda" due to his R2 Honda and use of you know... glasses. Anyway, I had never defeated him before and considered him best in Brampton. Then he disappeared (turns out he moved to Taiwan for a few months) and returned today only for me to OCV him both games. UGH! Just brutal. Anyway, Ultimate Rugal and some other folks show up and I kill off an hour without a second thought. I thought U.R. was going to cry in frustration. :lol: ULTIMATE RUGAL MY ASS! There's something funny about a bunch of regular players who all stand there going "you play him, I don't wanna play him."

I think I'm going to learn A Groove.

Is Yuhin blowing off work to play at BCC? Anyway, I finally got my first win against Yuhin after re-adapting my team so that Guile was R2 and a natural counter to Yuhin's Honda. Now I've officially beaten everyone in Sauga. Um... Gandhi managed to beat Yuhin and Calvin IIRC but then Calvin and Ken went nuts. Eighteen games later and what gets the job done. THE MOTHERFUCKING B TEAM! WHY IS MY B TEAM ENDING THE STREAK?! Whatever... won five straight and went home. I'm all CvS2'd for the night but I'll be at Skybox at noon. I was @ BCC today with Nagata Lock II. Played Ultimate Rugal and some other guy.. I think I played the other guy. o_o But, anyways I had a fun time playing you guys and showing you guys my akuma =P I'm planning on coming back sometime. I'll post on this thread before coming.

Well, i'm no john choi, but R2 Akuma is pretty fun, especially when ppl like to camp right beside me after they knock me down waiting to poke me, then i bust out my wake up raging demon doing like 60% damage to R2 characters (something like 70% to R1 characters) =] and then after that whenever i'm in rage mode it plays very good mind games =]

plus he has some nice links that i like (c. short, c. jab, c. roundhouse -> short hurricane kick -> jab shoryuken)

besides, i pick r2 akuma cause i want to, it's not like i HAVE to pick some top tier character for R2 (Sagat, Blanka, etc)

To tell you the truth, I have yet to miss with someone right beside me (and i mean right beside me) when i pull my wake up raging demon, even when guys are trying to poke me (it goes right through jabs and stuff)

I mean if you're expecting me to pull raging demon, most likely you'll jump or stay further away so you can poke but still have abit of time to jump.

and about that a-groove thing, i'm not really sure about that, with SNK grooves, you can rush down with akuma...i've seen it, it's pretty sick...the other dude is just pinned down with no where to go (if the other dude tries to roll, he's thrown, and mixing small jumps and sweeps like a mad man), but he's definitely good in A groove

EDIT: I have missed with the raging demon, but that's only cause i pull it when i'm too far, or mistimed it.

Oh, BTW sorry Calvin but I don't think we're getting a tournament in BCC. It's pretty obvious we have the interest, probably far more than Sauga does but Wizards Castle won't let us have the keys to change the machine (that's from head office) so we're kind of SOL. I may end up calling them to see what reasons they have for not letting us do it though.

we have a guy down here known as "afro rich" who got 67 wins on our machine a while ago...and trust me, not everyone down here is a scrub.

This subjust has kind of been beaten into the ground back when people were trashing Calvin for using Turtle Top Tier so we won't re-hash it again and again but I agree with Carlos in that I'd like to see more variety in people's teams from time to time. I had mentioned to Kevin that I use upwards of ten different characters at any given point. Granted I'm better with some characters more than others but it's still fun to have some variety in your game and add the element that you might *GASP* lose once in a while.

i agree with u... i shouldnt use sagat and blanka while playing casual... but take a look first... the first time i go there(BCC)... pple uses c groove sagat and turtle like shit... u expect me to use other char and owe them? plus... my sagat isnt just pure c.h.p...

OK, so I made kind of a broad statement saying that everyone uses Sagat or Blanka but take a look at most people's teams and you'll see one or the other. Out of the top BCC players:

- Gandhi: Akuma/Sagat/Cammy

- Pyron: Ken/Sagat/Rugal

- Jason: Ryu/Hibiki/Akuma (exception)

- Pete: Balrog/Gief/Blanka

- The other Chinese Guy: Kim/Sagat/Blanka

- Raj: Haohmaru/???/Sagat

- The guy that beat Calvin: Ryu/Terry/Sagat

Not to mention a host of scrubs that use Blanka and/or Sagat on a regular basis.

Then you have Sauga Crew of which the only people I know that never use Sagat and/or Blanka are Shu and Jason. Team White Boys, Matt, Rich, Calvin, Eric, Anant, etc... are all known to use either Sagat/Blanka in case things get ugly and they don't think their usual teams hold up.

I NEVER use Sagat/Blanka/Bison. It isn't fair to say that you need any of those characters in order to win matches, whether in casual or otherwise. I use the same top squad of Guile/Kim/Vega (argueably top tier) in all tournaments and 50/50 in casual and more often than not manage to take out competition dominated by top tier teams. I'm sure everyone here on SRK has enough skill to be able to play without top tier and use a continuous mix up of characters while still stringing together a solid set of wins. It may not be 30 wins but if your skills hold up then you can get more than enough. I managed 10 - 20 game streaks on a regular basis without top tier. Hell I manage 10 - 15 game streaks without my top squad and I'm not even on the level of some Sauga players. That should tell you something.

We're not attacking any players, just saying, broaden your character base (for those whom this applies to). And yeah, since when has my Blanka been any good Justin? You've seen it lately, EWWWWWWWW!! Its disgusting. So I think in my own defence, it can be said that my main team that I've been toying around with is Ken, Zangeif and Nakoruru, and we all know that in my hands, they're crap. Just a suggestion: SF is most fun when you find a character(s) that YOU like and you play your best to make them good. This is when SF is most fun. Oh and about Yamazaki...I beg to differ. C is good but the other grooves (possible exception of A and maybe S) give Yamazaki a lot more than just roll super and level 2 cancel, which isn't all that good in comparison.

yama doesnt need run(most likey)...

lvl 1 supers are just weak... a light punch can end the super, the reason i pick c groove is cuz of the lvl 2 supers... they have pretty much the same invincibility as lvl3, then u do a cancel super move (just a bit less damage then just a lvl 3 super) and u still have a lvl and a bit left which takes a short time to get another lvl 2 super

well Yama doesn't need run, but it gives his game another dimension. Like if you wanna play aggressive it's not bad to have run. Plus stand RH and stand strong run cancels are sooo good, and then you mixup with roll into bomb bopper or other stuff, it's really good.

But IMO level 2 supers aren't really worth it when you can pick say P or K groove and get the features that really help Yamazaki out against fighters like Vega that can run from Yama, or Cammy who can outpoke yama...kind of.

I've kinda grown used to no rolls because I like the flair using P or K groove gives, but I'll have to check out Yamazaki first and then decide. I had a talk with Kevin and it looks like BCC will have representation at the December 21st tournament. I put in to have that day off work and if I get it then I'll be bringing four players with me. I'm pretty sure I'm taking Gandhi, Pyron, Pete, and Jason with me. That leaves Raj (assuming he's willing to come), my usual sparring partner that uses Terry/Kim/Sagat along with Steve, his parrying partner, and Fuzzy Pickle out of the heavy hitters in BCC. It should be fun if everyone continues to practice hard (I'm totally starting to lose the edge I had on everyone in BCC as they keep getting better) and Yuhin's crew shows up on occasion to force our games to a higher level.

yea, the machine at BCC is getting abit annoying...but you can't exactly blame the owners...i've seen what some of the guys do to the machine...and if you did too, you'd understand why that button keeps breaking...

and please, stop complaining while u're playing! it's quite annoying! Yea the button doesn't work well right now (the spring on the button is loose/broken, so the button gets stuck once in a while), but damn, complaining and slamming on the button DOESN'T HELP! Just ask ur opponent to wait a sec and tap it lightly and it'll come back up. sometimes you dont' even need to tell them to wait!

besides, if you're using the buttons gently, it doesn't give you a problem most of the time anyways. So please be gentle with the stick and buttons, it doesn't take that much force to use thoset things!

Anyways, enough with the rant. Tried Ken today, and he's pretty good, might replace hibiki with him. I like his command kicks, and have a much better rush down in K groove. Gotta try out the kicks and see how things good, if all goes well, i'll have to let hibiki go..=<

you only really need to smack it hard to make it work WHEN the other guy won't wait...and unless you're blanka or something u don't need smash, and even then, you don't need to smash, just either tap rapidly or mash, which is quite different from smashing.

Anyway, Friday was too fun. I went to BCC thinking there'd be a lot of competition but NO ONE was there. So I walk to the back and THEY FIXED CvS1! 25 CENTS THAT SHIT DOWN! So I started working on EX Kim and smoked some folks. Came back to CvS2 to find Jason and Terry there.

Highlight Of The Day: MOTHERFUCKING 23 GAME WIN STREAK!

Low Point Of the Day: I won 23 straight games. Low... point?

Good games to everyone I played. Jason kept coming over and over but couldn't survive Vega rushdown. I still think you were better off keeping Hibiki but *shrugs* if you think Ken is better then more power to you. I don't know where that tall Indian guy came from but it would have sucked to end my streak to him after OCV'ing him the first time only to win by the skin of my teeth the second time around.

Right side Roundhouse is beyond horrible. It's good that the players are willing to wait until the other guy can get it together otherwise it'd be costing people a lot more matches. I was lucky though because the big coin guy was standing there when Roundhouse went off and I was stuck in Kim's second stance so now there's no excuse not to get it fixed.

I'm still waiting to play FuzzyPickle. :bluu:

Pete: I'll probably pop into BCC on Monday at lunch time. Odds are I'll only be using B Team and below though (maybe Kim as R2 for an ace in the hole) as I want to open things up big and not have to rely on my "A Team" to win matches against good opponents.

I think I have second spare that day, and third lunch, so I'll be there pretty early, probably around 10:30 to about 12:15, so drop on by . . . Anyway, just from my past experience, smashing the button does help at BCC. The thing is tapping it works sometimes, but I tend to find that smashing it once will make it work for the rest of the match. And complaining isn't bad when it truly is the reason for losing, which has happened to me countless times. There's nothing worse than trying to do Geese's raging storm to end a match, and getting a stupid s.f.k instead, cuz the button sucks. But anyway, yeah, I'll be there, and oh, Ultimate Rugal, you come too, cuz my Rugal is ALOT better than yours . . . and you know its true

Pete beat the snot, piss, shit and everything else possible out of me today in CvS2. Score was like 987654321 - 4 (did I even get four wins?). :( I FUCKING HATE YAMA! That standing Roundhouse is the biggest load of high priority shit I've ever seen. :mad:

Anyway; this is what happens when you get comfortable winning. Other folks keep learning from you and then throw it in your face like today. Looks like I've got to re-train again. :bluu: Stupid Pete; always forcing me to get better.

Um... I should be back in BCC on Thursday as that's my next day off. In the meantime, it's time to hit "Strategy & Tactics" and start practicing again.

He's just plain old annoying...that stupid laugh, his insane priority and reach with his standing RH, that anti-air super, and to some extent his flying fist thingy...I think the only thing he's really missing is a consistant anti air move OTHER than the super (someone can enlighten me as to what this move is)...

I mean you can't store supers in K groove...but i'm not a Yama authority, nor do i plan to be, it's just my opinion from learning to play against him =P

Yo, Justin, it wasn't that bad, I mean, that was just vengeance for all the other times you kicked my ass. But yeah, the score was 15-4, you did get 4 wins. And I don't even think it was my Yama that did you in. In my opinion, my really strong character is Geese, but meh, maybe I'm wrong. Also Yama is really good in K groove. Once you can JD good enough, not having a high priority anti-air isn't that much of a problem. And once your close enough, his c.fp is really good, but will often trade hits or whiff. In my opinion, he's more of a waiting, anticipation character, so just anticipating your opponent jumping usually gives you all the time and advantage you need. Ok, I know I sound like I think I'm a Yamazaki expert, but I'm not, this is just from my own personal experience, limited as it may be, so take it with a grain of salt. Also, having the run from the SNK grooves helps me alot to get into position to s.rh. And his upwards super is called the "Guillotine", yes, the same name as the capital punishment instrument, developped in 18th century France for the FR.

Ok, enough of that, ugh, yeah, Justin, I have a half day on Thursday, so I'll be in at about 12 to 1, and I'll try to stay for a couple of hours. And anyone else, I'd love to play some of the other players who post online here. . . Anyway, Justin, I'm expecting you to come back full swing and notch some wins, so I'll be practicing as well. Hmm... maybe you should talk to your mom about what time you have to be home on Thursday. Heh... I guess I was a little late (two and 1/2 hours or so). You deny it but I've got your Hibiki solved (especially if I've got Vega for the speed and reach). I knew it was too good to last. They finally fix CvS2 after literally months of shitty buttons. It works perfectly for two days and now I hear they moved the machine and it fucked the screen up. GOD DAMN IT! :mad: What'd they put in the middle/showcase spot anyway? Pete said a racing game so I'm hoping it's Initial D otherwise it's just taking up valuable real estate where CvS2 should be.

In other news; Kevin is coming to BCC on Wednesday afternoon around 1:30pm - 2:00pm so if you guys can make it to BCC then I advise you do so as it's always fun to play someone new.

Is anyone from BCC aside from me and Pete going to UN this Saturday? I'm in as long as the weather isn't along the lines of total shit like the last UN where Matt was lucky to come out of it alive. :lol:

Kevin comes to BCC and marvels at the sheer size of our arcade. We both agreed that BCC is probably the best spot to hold a tournament considering it's about three - four times larger than Skybox. Ah well... back to bitching to management.

Anyway; as I said Kevin came by BCC and he, Pete and I get down to the greatness that is CvS2. It was pretty much I beat you, you beat him, he beats me for an hour or so until Pete broke away and hit a ten game streak. Kevin had left by that point and Pete and I engage in the greatest game yet (between us obviously) which I won... when I shouldn't have... but I won anyway. :sweat:

We played more, Pete pretty much destroyed me and I left. Then I come back and use B Team only to be nearly OCV'd. THAT'S when I knew it was time to go home. :bluu:

Pete's looking like the best player out of BCC coming into M2. :eek: I think I need to keep practicing. Thank goodness for UN; I'll be able to work with a lot of different teams as the games won't be costing me anything except my time.

Yeah, sticking with P and K groove is a good idea. In my own opinion, they have the most potential since parrying and just defending when taken to a higher level can dominate a game. Yea, i like using P and K cause it involves more skill, and if you can use it well, it can dominate the game...i just wish you could run in P groove, but you can't have everything =P

I still can't decide between the 2 (P and K), since Parrying is stronger than JD, but Rage mode in K does SO much extra damage! and in K you can supers all the time, where as in P you only get like one or 2 throughout the entire match...=P

Pyrin showed up and we have the titanic battles that only he and I can have. We split the series 4 - 4 and I managed to get an OCC with R2 Kim after his stupid R1 Ken demolished my Chun and Terry.

See the problem with that is you'll only have about ten people that are actually willing to play 3S. Unlike Sauga or STC or DT or wherever, we don't have enough people that actually want to play and improve at a game to any great level outside of maybe eight to ten of us. So while we might show up once in a day (if that now that school is back in session for many college and University students who don't have time for arcades), the rest of the time the game is sitting there. The scrubs won't play because they don't want to learn how to parry and it's just another SF that's "too hard" for them. The guys like us just don't have the time to play it on a regular basis. So while you might get the game, we'll be SOL in like two months when they get rid of it for something that newbies and good players can play alike (like CvS2).

The next conceivable day I can come to play on lunch time is this Friday. I have afternoons off but I don't finish any classes until 1:30pm and then I have to hit the gym and what not so it's like 4:00pm before I get back into Brampton. So yeah; Friday at noon I'll be there for games if anyone is interested.

EDIT: I talked to Kevin and we both think that February 15th is a good day for another big tournament at Skybox. As such; I'll book the time off work to go. Pete and Gandhi; I assume you're both in. I'll talk to Pyrin and hopefully we can get a fifth person to represent BCC this time around. I'd really like to get Jason, Steve or Raj to join up as they're all very good players. *shrugs* there's a month to go so I'm sure we'll figure out something.

So i'm stuck with playing MvC2 again, picking it up slowly again...but damn, the 1p side can't block low! so i can't even pull a Magnetic Tempest! Man I need A LOT of practice for February 15th. I rang up Gandhi today for casual and there was actually a decent turnout. Either Pyrin is getting better or I got a lot worse because he handed me my ass (except that stupid game where Kim Super didn't come after he missed Tiger Uppercut). ANYWAY, the controls are managing to suck large amounts of ass as 1P LK and HP don't work along with 2P LK and HK don't work. Gandhi says that the 1P stick is grinding on something and I'd be inclined to agree as it doesn't 360 right.

On a side note; controls sucking = I'm not coming tomorrow. I HATE playing on a machine where my game is being decided on whether a kick button decides it wants to respond at that given time. Sorry Pete and anyone else that was going to play me, it's going to have to wait.

Jason; are you able to come on the 15th? IIRC, most Universities have reading week starting Valentines Day so I assume you'd have some extra time on your hands. It'd be good if we could get some solid representation from Brampton for once.

Getting a practice session could be tough but not impossible. From what I've seen, both Gandhi and Pyrin are available around 4:30pm on Thursdays (at least if last week is any indication). I can make the time if necessary but we've only got so many Thursdays to pull it off so time is of the essence. I can show on Friday at lunch time but that's assuming my workout doesn't go long (last week I only did cardio so I was out in an hour).

I don't quite think they're trying to scam people. I yapped with the chubby quarter guy and they've had CvS2 on their repair list for a while but the repair guys just haven't showed up. Besides, he brought up a good point. Head Office sees the numbers and notices that CvS2 is still raking in money (2nd only behind Initial D) despite the fact that the machine is in line for repair. Why should head office send out someone when the machine is raking in just as much money as before?

Anyway, Justin or anybody, post when you're going to come next so hopefully I can go as well for some casual.

MAN, WHAT A FUCKING BEATING! :eek: We agreed to only use casual teams so I used B Squad (combinations of Chun/Yuri/Terry/Akuma) and was nearly OCV'd twice by Pete's R2 Cammy (who he just started using like yesterday). Anyway, I think I beat Pete all of twice (maybe once, but I think twice for some reason). Hell, I even used my A-Team for my last match and still lost (not by much, but still). I can't speak for Pete but I work Saturdays unless I book time off work for tournaments (like the 15th). I'll probably be back at Skybox next week but I"m not sure considering there won't be the turnout we had today with everyone off during exams.

Pete: Kam goes to the Fairview Mall Arcade (Don Mills and Sheppard) sometimes during the weekend. The Sticks are quite solid for CVS2 and 3S. You have to adjust to the diagonal stance though .. but if you can play at Sauga, then you can easily play at Fairview. PM me if you and the Brampton/Sauga guys feel like coming to Fairview during a weekend and I'll try to pass the word to Kam for ya.

Man; does anyone go to BCC in the afternoon that posts here? Anyway; I pop in around 3:30pm and there was at least some decent competition. Pete, you need to see how your Friday (as in next Friday, not this one coming) looks becuase there's a console tournament at 4:00pm. They're playing every SF as far as I can tell (aside from ST I think) so I figured you would want in. Gandhi already agreed and I'm hoping to find Pyron as well. I'll hook up rides for everyone. Get back to me on MSN if you want in. Odds are the tourney organizer will pop into this thread as I left him the URL for SRK.

Yeah, glad everyone showed today for casual/Parry matches . . . I'm still blown away by how good Ghandi can parry now . . . to everyone out there, watch out. Still don't know how I won some of those, but I did come out on top. So Justin I guess this proves I own with grooves that have rolls as well, MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Can't wait for tourney tomorrow so I can sit back and watch Ghandi take everyone apart . . .

:lame: You played me twice. The first game you nearly managed to blow an OCV and let my Kim come AAAAALLLLLLL the way back and lose by a hair. It's almost 3:00am but if I didn't post this log now I have no idea when I would get a chance. This is of course pertaining to the relatively big (for a console tourney at least) Brampton Khaos Tournament.

Highlight Of The Day: The amazing battle of P vs K between Tyrell and Pete. NO HEALTH! NONE! :eek:

Low Point Of The Day: Realizing how brutally I suck at 3rd Strike after Tyrell and Vinnie beat the shit out of me during casual. :(

Line Of The Day: "YO YO... I CAN GET ANYONE BURNS FOR $5. Um... does anyone have a DVD burning program?" (Junior going on about PS2 DVD's he can get with no burning program). :lol:

This was a lot of fun. Some of us met up at BCC around 4:00pm for casual. Good turnout as always with everyone pretty much sandbagging their skills (B TEAM THAT SHIT!). I managed a five game streak before losing to um... uh... Ghazi maybe? *shrugs* can't remember now. We get some HORRIBLE fast food from the food court and we're off to Khaos' place.

We played casual WAAAAAAY too long for a tournament that was supposed to end at 11:00pm. Well first off we didn't even get there until like 6:00pm due to late leaving BCC and BRUTAL Friday traffic. So we play casual for another hour before deciding on tournaments. Khaos suggest Round Robin and I cry the tears of a very long night.

We tried to run CvS2 and 3rd Strike tournaments but no one was wlling to run 3rd Strike (I handled CvS2) so that fell apart and the other TV was used for various games included 3S, MvC2, Project Justice, GGX, and A3.

I hope I can remember this:

Vs Gahzi: Total slaughter here. Nearly an OCV with Vega IIRC.

Vs Vinnie: Yuri OCV

Vs Terry: Tougher than Gahzi but not all that difficult. His R2 Sagat was more trouble than I'd have cared for.

Vs Constantine: My first loss of the night and I think the first time I've ever lost to Constantine. Good match but I played sloppy Kim and got punished.

Vs Tyrell: This one had been building for a couple of weeks after we faced off in BCC and I beat him by the skin of my teeth. This wasn't as tight as the first match but still pretty good. Did I need R2 Kim?

Vs Gandhi: He forfeighted his points

Vs Pete: Easily the best match I had today. I elected to turtle like a motherfucker instead of my usual half assed rushdown. Great back and forth match with Pete making a stupid mistake on the jump kick and me not capitalizing for the loss.

Vs Khaos: Um... he was more interested in not getting OCV'd by Yuri. DAMN IT! SO CLOSE!

Vs Josh: He left before I got a shot at him but entered tourney so he forfeighted his points. Disappointing because he was probably the 3rd or 4th best player in there today but bowed out so soon.

Vs Steve: I was NOT PLEASED with this match. I had everything in control and his Bison makes the miracle comeback for the zero life victory. BUUUUULLSHIIIIIIT!

Junior: Yuri OCV

Sid: Vega OCV

1st: Pete (Winner of 2/3 Falls Faceoff against Steve after they tied Round Robin)

Steve telling everyone "IT'S NOT A TOURNEY MATCH" every time he lost a match and actually getting free re-matches. :bluu:

Tyrell's INSANE Guy in Alpha 3. My Vega spent more time trying to catch up than actually hit him. TOO FAST! :o

All in all I had a really good time. There were some insane matches throughout the night. MEGA PROPS to Khaos for the AWESOME hospitality. He had FREE KRISPEE CREAM, FREE KFC, FREE PIZZA, CHIPS, CHOCOLATE BARS, HOLY FUCK! SO... MUCH... FOOD :wasted: I gave him my copy of MSR as a means of saying thank you as he mentioned he was looking for it. GG's to everyone and I hope we can do it again; just not Round Robin for the love of God.

Alright, I really want to get started on organizing a Brampton tourney at BCC. We can use the method Eric showed Justin which doesn't involve event mode. Might cost a bit more, but should be worth it. If we can't charge an entry fee, we just do it outside the arcade, or do it after . . . We can work around all the problems. We just need to start planning this. So anyone interested in getting involved, (this extends to Sauga), any help/advice or even bitching would be appreciated . . .

Are you sure you want to run this at BCC? If we ran it at Shoppers World then we could run 3S along with CvS2 and MvC2 (I assume MvC2, I'm not 100% sure). We're probably looking at Saturday March 29th for a date.

It's pretty simple actually and costs only a quarter more on each side to start. You each put in fifty cents and play the match. Winner stays as you would in casual and the loser pays fifty cents to continue on. Progress until the round is overwith. The only downside is you have to kill yourself (the winner) against the comp for the next match to take place UNLESS a person in the subsequent round wants to hold onto that team in which case they each pay twenty five cents and go on as described above. It's an extra quarter per player at the very most. It's obviously not as quick as Event Mode but we're talking about adding maybe two minutes if that to each match assuming the next set of players don't want to retain the last winning team.

I've got brackets covered as I'll just print them from SRK. I've got a strong understanding of where players should be ranked though I'm sure others will offer input anyway.

BTW, no word on whether we're getting 3S or A3 as yet.

Take the 19 NORTH to Shoppers World Brampton, make sure its the NORTH cuz the South will take you to Port Credit. (It runs all the time, It's like the most frequent bus in Mississauga)

From Shoppers World take the 1B right to the city centre from the city centre bus station walk in the mall go up the esclator hang a right walk past the food court towards the photo booth and you'll see the arcade. If you have any questions or need more specific directions leave a msg and ill get back to it sooner or later

Considering you're in BCC far more than I am, if you see Darcy or any of the regulars (hell even tell the fat quarter guy if he's not working) about the tournament. Make sure they know it has a $3 entry fee and they pay as they play. I mean everyone bud, well not absolute scrubs but the folks that know what they're doing.

So much for sixteen people. I went into BCC today to see who wanted in. That guy with the red hat that only uses K Groove is locked. Josh is also locked in to join. Pete says that James is in and with Majin Ryu joining (as stated in Sauga thread) we're up to 20 people. Terry said he'd join but didn't seem like a sure fire thing so I'm not counting him for now. Basically, BCC members I haven't seen that I would like to see join are:

Raj
Black guy always with Raj
Pyrin
Darcy

That would bring us to 24 players based out of Sauga and Brampton alone. Eric of course is coming and anyone he brings with him will be that much more. Majin Ryu says that he can contact DT and if they show this could hit 32 players. In a case like that, I'd say losers would have to be single elimination or we'll never finish in six hours.

There's only three slots left Gordon. I'd be happy to add another match onto our series as our matches are always very good and come down to the wire. If not, then you can play either Steve or Calvin. Drop a line here or in the tournament thread when you know what's going on.
