I've done everything in my power to get Nat Type 2 since I have 3 and nothing has worked. Type in "Nat Type Help PS3" in google and it will tell you all that you need to do. If all of it doesn't work, then you'll just have to deal with it.

Before I knew how the different NAT types affected the online gaming I had type 3. Luckily when I entered all the information manually I got down to type 2. I cant say Ive noticed a massive difference, but I wish my fam would stop wirelessly leaching my internet so I could direct connect and know I were getting the best possible connection.

Is there any way to assign the PS3 as a static IP on a router, in the same way you can set one up for PC?

The only way to get anything besides nat 3 is to connect the ps3 striat to da modem (no router ,no brigegs, no wifi wirless)

to get NAT3 to NAT2 you need to forward the following ports in your router

TCP: 80, 443 and 5223
UDP: 3478, 3479 and 3658

hope this helps

Is there any way to assign the PS3 as a static IP on a router, in the same way you can set one up for PC?I don't know the exact step, but do you remember when you set up the online connection for the PS3, it'll list "Automatically", "Manually", and etc? Well, just select "Manually", and you know how to fill the rest.
