It looks like SCIV is getting closer and closer to being a reality. I've been practicing quite a bit lately in II and III to get ready. I hope Cassandra is just as awesome, and I'm really excited about Hilde.

It will be the first fighting game I've been excited about since SCIII came out. Man, what would the fighting genre be like if ever two weeks a great fighter came out like what happens with RTS's or FPS's? The world would be a better place.

The only game I like more than the SC series overall is MvC2. My love for SC beats my love VF barely and I can't wait to see how good I will be against other human players as well in SC4, it will a gauge to let me know just how good I really am.

SC4 is the next big thing for the ps3, a lot of there games suck or lose flavor(MGS4) so the with release of the new soul calibur a lot of ps3 users with have it. i personally can't wait, i've been playing a lot of SC2 & 3 just getting into the story an game play.

i can't wait to create my own character and use cervantes!

i hope we can use 'the soul of darthvader' or some shit like you do in SC3 when creating a character. i want to make a jedi but not some darthvader shit!

I don't think we'll be able to use a "Vader Soul" in this game unfortunatley. I think I read somewhere that they want to keep the Star Wars characters unique or something like that. I could be wrong though. I AM looking forward to this game for the CaS though. I had fun making characters in SC3 and being able to do it. Hopefully lag won't be too big of an issue for online play. If you can't make it play well online, you might as well not add the feature and just develop some other area more.

It's been said so many times by now, but the amount of tittage in this game is absolutely unheard of. There's such a mammary overload that I'm sure we'll see Yoda's sagging water ballons, too, from an alternate costume.

It's exactly like the Hori fighting stick 3 with added artwork to it. I have the Hori stick and it plays fine to me.

i own it already and no word on the online mode seeing as how i think they'll turn on the servers on the launch date. but the developers and what not have said it should be better than T5DRO in terms of netcode and stuff.

but over all even offline is amazing i love this game! its more like SC2 than SC3.

Depending on which character u use. I've cn most ppl trying to break my guard but ended up paying the price. At certain times i will use it but only to win not to spam there other move around those. I feel your pain about that. I've played anyone with 4 or 5 bars. Under 4 i will not play.

Then he switches to The Apprentice and rakes in a bunch of wins abusing at how broken he is. Seriously, the Star Wars characters need to get the ban hammer come down on them.

U can also add abilities to every character in the game so it can b more of a challenge. Did anyone manage to change some of the music in certain stages. I can't get it to work for some reason. I recently played someone with a 3bar connection he uses raphel style naming the character "the hulk"

Raph has a natural teleport... It's slow as hell, but I'd imagine it's uber when it comes to lag tactics.

Yeah, the last round I played against him he purposely lured me to the edge of the ring and threw me out of the ring with the same hold move twice in a row. Thats when I stood in the middle of the ring and waited for him to come to me. He even tried to walk over to the edge and wait for me but I wasn't going anywhere haha.

i find rank fun because not only do you get a win ratio and a record but you actually get some money for it too, cant get money in unranked online. the one thing i hate about online is bitches who look at my rank and they have a good connection but run instead of play me and then the loser who presses start and exits in the middle of a match because theyre getting raped. too many maxi,mitsurugi, and kilik scrubs online too. shit is annoying!

I play with Sigfreids online cause he is dangerous now. There r a few good mitsu players but now i'm gettin pissed about ppl who abuse the character creation feature and get pissed when gettin owned severly. I take my loss anytime like a true gamer and chalk it up with another win.

Far too many Apprentice, Kilik, Raph, and Maxi scrubs online that spam easy and highly abusable high/low mix ups.

Fighting one guy with my Ivy last nigh and totally owned his Cervantes, Apprentice, and pretty much any other character he choose. Then he chooses Kilik and each match is really close but it goes to him in the last round. After raking in a few wins he'll switch to a different character where my Ivy will trounce all over him that he gets his scrubby ass back to Kilik.

I really need to improve my GI timing and find ways to close the gap. Ivy's WP stance is good at ranging but once he gets in close she doesn't have many tools to get back into a comfortable range.

The easy answer to that is Mitsurugi. He is srcubs #1 choice and is in high tier.

Other than that check out Cervantes. He is badass and really good and I haven't seen anyone choose him, and have not played that many Cervantes players. Easy to pick up and takes loads of damage. Spam A+B every once in a while.

I'll be online using Maxi and Mitsurugi custom characters. I don't care if they're scrub characters, I just like to play the game. Just like Canto said, don't take it seriously. I play my friend offline and he mashes with Raph to the point where sometimes I don't think it's even worth trying to get around. I'm not saying this game is broken, it's just too easy to the point where a complete scub like myself could mash their way pass a high level player. I'm still training though but I do unranked matches just to see my created character unleashed into the online world of soul calibur.

Edit: I honestly don't think I'll ever get good at this game and take i to the level of actual competitive play. Something about it doesn't make me fel comfortable playing this seriously. Seems like I'll only turn out getting extremely frustated at quick easy loses.

i hate that the lag only affects me inbetween rounds and at the end of wins. during battle i rarely ever lag its like i said, mainly those inbetweens. its annoying on how many fights ive won and they havent counted at the end because it said "communicating" then just kicked me out and said network error and i get nothing for it. i hate that.

other than that im happy because this game is so fun and atleast im top 3 online!

so i bit the bullet and started doing ranked matches so i can get the achievements and whatnot. i hadn't played any random peeps until now, but i see what ppl are talking about with mitsurugis and kiliks. kind annoying, but my Cervy can handle it. tonight i actually played someone that picked yoshi at random and did nothing but 6+k, k and 6,6+k. it was hilarious and random. but yeah, add me so i don't have to see that anymore.

Started with rankings matches today. Still only average, but I guess I'm getting the hang of things. Mainly focusing on Amy, only have one win higher than the number of times I've lost. That said, I'm still not over the fact that I managed to land a Critical Finish on someone in an actual match (a Vader player, during the final round of that match).

Anyway, it's been fun so far (I've seen more Siegfried customs than anything else).

oh yeah, be ready for the scrubs atleast in ranked matches. i've played like one decent person in rank matches. everyone else has a set of 3 strings that they do non-stop, and nothing else. even if u have a counter for it everytime, they keep goin. it makes me sad really.

Ummm...there is some definite lag to the online mode even at 4 or 5 bars. It may seem non-existent at that connection but it's there and it's enough to screw you over at times. Combo execution and just frames gets screwed over by this slight delay because the timing required for these gets thrown off.

For example, I can never get Ivy's infinite combo to work in online mode but in offline mode I have no problems at all. There is a slight delay when I try to do the second relaunch that it makes it impossible to do in an online match even at 4-5 bars.

As long as you have the max number of points for your current level (i.e., 400/400), it'll be a battle of destiny, resulting in a level-up so long as you win. Well, as long as you win and the other player doesn't drop before the win can be recorded (the two times it happened to me weren't battles of destiny in my case, but it still cost me the points from those matches :bluu: ).
