This may belong in the comic thread, but I thought modern art and comic heads alike would appreciate this.

Why is Blanka playing the drums in the first pic?

The "Spider-Kid" on the chimney with rope is pretty funny. Bout to snap his neck though. :wasted:

I was wondering the same thing. Also, 56kers beware!

I think it's supposed to be the hulk.

Spider-Man-Toast was my favorite.

Spider-Man-Toast was my favorite.

I really liked that one, too. I really liked the framed Spidey series of random "photos."

Doc Ock slingin' drinks is a stroke of brilliance.

I wish I could go to this gallery and buy prints of some of these and copies of the plushes. I really love that Hulk plush with his hands in his pockets.

Top notch stuff from top to bottom. I hope this inspires fans of other comics and video games.

First pic is damn hilarious.

And as good as this art is... it pains me to see Stan still being treated as the center of Marvel's creative universe.

Kirby will get his soon. Plus it pays to keep your face connected with your work. Stan kept his name and face out there and look at the pay back.

... how? his 4th world is litterally being turned into a steaming pile of shit by jim starlin. kirby is being constantly shitted on, imo.

Of course, Kirby and Ditko probably do get a lot more respect than other mainstream artists of their time. Their heyday was generally before artists and writers could gain celebrity status in the field.

right, but i'm talking about a stan vs kirby "status" situation. kirby is basically unknown to most people while stan lee is known by basically everyone.

stan is in every marvel movie while jack isn't in shit that i've noticed. he needs more mainstream respect.

And just like I said he needs to put himself out there. I mean for as long as you and I have been reading comics Stan Lee has been out there pimpin. Mofo don't even write and draw anymore but he is Marvel's rep. If Kirby starts name dropping on what he's worked on and who's he worked on it with then he'll get more recognition.

HA, yeah i should have looked that up. i have no excuses other than just recently getting into comics, so just how long as that man been ko'ed? that could heavily influence the fact that he doesn't get the love he diserves.

edit: typos and logical errors indicate xanax is kicking in and sleep is upon me.

He died in 1994.

The episode of Superman: TAS in which Dan Turpin dies is dedicated to Kirby's memory. I think that was in 1995.

you are correct sir, wiki for the win. that also explains my lack of knowledge about it since that was the long stretch of no comics for me. anyways, in closing... good link to art, i'm sorry that kirby's 4th world isgetting shit on, and good evening.
