If I use hole plugs in place of Sanwa Snap-In quick disconnects then are there any special instructions for what to do with the wires that were connected to the buttons? Like do I just leave them hanging there loose or do I have to cover them with something or remove them? I'm not sure about removing them since I'm going to do this on a commercial joystick and I wasn't the one who put them on.
Any help is appreciated.

Just use tape to cover the ends, so they never cross, then tape it to the box so it doesn't jiggle around.

I wouldn't use tape on the metal part of the QDs. The adhesive will stay on if you remove the tape.
Instead, simply tape the wire to the box.

I simply wrapped the quick disconnects for the L buttons on my HRAP2 with electrical tape because I will never use them.

Any suggestions on which type of electrical tape? I did a little research and they are classified by color. BTW EvilSamurai check your PM's.
