Which do you like best and why?

I will be using this to make tutorial videos, game play videos (think ranbats), and the sort.

I like Camtasia Studio

Its easy to use and has excellent features and are very good for what you want to do. Check out Acidglow's page on YouTube; all his intros/match video/combo vids/tutorials are all Camtasia

For easy stuff, it's a toss up between WMM and iMovie, but WMM locks you in to WMV.

You have way more options on Mac, iMovie, Final Cut pro, and a better running system for the video editing. However, if you can't afford one or don't want to make the switch adobe premier is your best bet. Adobe has great support.

not really, if anything you have less options on mac. Granted Final Cut
is a good program, saying that macs are a "better system for video editing" is wrong...

The whole mac vs pc thing is a huge pet peeve of mine from working as
an audio engineer; everyone seems to be convinced that Macs are better
for (as they call it) "art stuff" like audio, video, and graphic design, but it
simply isnt the case.

One of the main reasons that people who "make the switch" to apple are
such die hard fans is that they usually spend a TON more on a mac than
they did (or would have spent) on any windows based system. I have
friends tell me all the time "I just made the switch and theres "no way
Ill ever go back...Macs are so much better and faster than PCs. I dont
know what it is but everything just runs so much better and I love it.
" I always ask them "how much did you spend on your new mac?" The
answer is usually in the $2,000 dollar range be it for a G5 tower or a
powerbook, sometimes it gets into the mid $3k's. And then I ask "how
much was your last computer?" And the response is usually under $1k.
Well no crap your $2800 G5 tower runs better than that Dell inspiron you got for $650 at best buy.

Now dont get me wrong, im not saying that PC's are better than macs, because just like saying that the inverse is true, that would be ignorant. Thats like saying that Chevy is better than every other car maker anywhere, including the thousands of companies that do custom auto work that I know nothing about"
"Mac" is one company, "PC" is thousands of companies, so blanketing them all together makes no sense.
One of my favorite things to do when someone wants to tell me that macs are better than PC's for audio and video is just ask "why?" and wait for them to say "uh well theyre just made for it" or something along those lines...

So anyways long story short PC and Mac are both good for editing of any kind as long as you make the investment to get a decent system on either.

/rant off

And Sony Vegas would prolly be the easiest to get a hold of via torrents or whatnot and has 0 learning curve, Id start there if I were you, but Adobe Premiere isnt a bad way to go either...u can never go wrong with Adobe!
Good Luck!
