WHAT IS THE MOST SUCCESSFULL BOSS FORMULA That Sf4 Should Apply
1.)NEW CHESSY BOSS - the same with tekken 3 & 5-6, KOF and etc.
the process is always having a new boss in the per sequel that would die officially in the end of the sequel and the boss never been a selectable character.
2.)NEW CHARACTER AS BOSS - the guilty gear XX formula like first DIZZY was the boss then in the next sequel she had became a normal roster.
the process is making new character as a boss then making it part of the normal roster next game.
3.)THE ETERNAL BOSS - this is the same with SF2 and early kof games
the process is having the a boss that is always the boss of all the sequel arround
4.)THE PERSONAL BOSS - this is same with SFA1 and SFA2
the process is having a each fighter have a different boss which is another common fighter in the game like KEN last fight is RYU (SFA/SFA2)
Personally i prefer the New Character Boss or New Chessy Boss
I choose New Character Boss So the Design, Fighting Styles wouldn't waste plus that means the character boss is built competitively.

What about a character that's toned down for players, but really cheesey as the final boss, like Fat Bison in A3?
And a personal sub-boss?

Whatever ties in best to the 'story' they're trying to present in this installment? I don't care so long as it gels with the game itself.

I have no idea what they plan to do with the 'story', but I'm always a fan of rivals. I think it would be cool, at least for the sub boss, if each character had a rival to fight as their final or second to final fight. I guess out of that list, I would like a "Personal Boss". I'd rather them make a playable character than some crazy Gil/SNK type boss.
But in the end, I guess I'm pretty impartial to it all. Whatever makes for the most fun in the single player mode I guess would be best.

I like the idea for the "drama" of the story but I agree. In 3s I spend 20-30 minutes fighting Gouki before the personal boss just to get like a D grade then go to the final boss to score an A.
I think a new boss would appear, but what would everyone's reason for fighting be? Otherwise this would just be like VF where everyone just fights with no personality or anything. Ken and Ryu are friends and rivals, but the only reason they would still fight is because Ken always wants a new fight. Unless they made this branch off, story wise, no one has a reason to fight anymore. Sim's village isnt in danger, Dic is dead so Chun is just an interpol police officer once again, Boxer is still a washed up roid raged vegas show-boy, and claw is just a spoiled spanish rich bitch who will keep whining about the pimple on his nose. Blanka can go hide in the jungle in peace, Fei can go back to movies, Cammy can run around and do whatever. Hawk can go back to the reservation. DJ can run his bar in Jamaica. Guile can go home like he should have and be with his wife.
What can possibly happen to draw these people into another conflict like before? Ryu is the only one with a valid reason to fight unless you throw Ken back into the US Fighting championship. Sagat would have to fight Ryu since he wants revenge. There, 3 people with reasons. Thats it. No one else has a fit anywhere. Unless of course you have Gouki, who wants to fight and destroy anyone weaker than him.
Unless they decide to go KOF or MK style and either "invite" or force everyone into a tournament.
Ok, So from my point of view, I think the personal boss is the way to go. They could do like they always do in every game though and amp up the "rival's" attributes like they seem to do with Gouki in ever game. He's super powered in Marvel games (except MvC2) in 3s and CvS games. Then there's Shin Goukis.

SF4 storyline

Personally I always enjoy the rush of reaching a boss that isnt selectable and slightly imbalanced (too powerfull). Since he is not selectable then you have less experience playing against him. Makes it kind of exciting. Plus a personal sub boss is always fun.

Yeah we need a new boss that is competitive worth a match
but bison can come back as a normal character since its a waste to throw him his concept, design, playability, moves, popularity, was going to waste if he would stay dead and bison has a unique fighting unlike other like that had a lot of clone roaming around.
Plus beside of bison being unique bison was one of the most refined sf fighters on the sf history its a waste for him to just left out.

Q could still be used as a boss. he has no story. his specials are safe on block.
he already has a cheap defense. they could give him some kind of cheap laser based projectile(shot from his eyes:cybot: )to bolster his offense.
i just think he screams boss character and they could finally flesh out his story but i still have hopes that capcom wont dissapoint with the new boss whoever it is

Here is what you do....
Make one boss who is tough as nails, could be new or old but make them either selectable now or eventually
Make another boss that is hidden (like Akuma in ST) and make them totally kick ass. He can be selectable or not but not play the same as the CPU version.
Basically, keep the boss setup like it was in ST with Bison and Akuma, it was perfect

I voted for the eternal boss, but I think a different, individual mid-level boss for each character is great. It adds storyline and individuality for that character. But I don't think an individual final boss for each character is good. Because it makes the game lose the whole main storyline. Some people like enjoying the storyline.
Like in SFA3, in one character's storyline, they kill this person. But in another character's final boss fight, that killed person is not killed. Which is the true storyline?
But I guess that made it kind of like a 'RPG' where you guide your character to victory in their own goals by winning the fights.

If people don't care about the story, there's no need for a boss. Just play until you win and try to beat the high score.
Anyways, considering they can release patches, and unless they plan to introduce new system mechanics, there won't be a need to make a part 2 right? In that case, I'd like it to be like half-way, after 4-5 matches, the character fights his/her personal boss. Then after 8-10 matches, the boss of SF4.
I think that's how Alpha 3 was?

1/ Personal sub-boss + new final boss
or
2/ Sagat
I like both personal and then eternal bosses. More bosses = better, just like sf2.
But the formula is to make them inteligent, not like Samurai Showdown,KOF or SVCC bosses, who act based in your comands, like, c.lk make them do a DP or super, or something like that. Stupid.
One thing that I hate, is in RTS games, like Command and Conquer, when you select the "hard mode", and all that the computer does is to build things faster than you. I hate it.

Well considering that this game is in between SF 2 (not sure if the creator mentioned Turbo) and 3...all I have this to say:
Bison (and mind u he's my favorite character in the entire 2d world) was already done in SF2 and the only person we saw beat/kill him was Gouki ...so the only logical boss thereafter would be Gouki. Gouki was also a hidden character (then made it into the normal roster) for SF3: 2nd Impact, and 3rd Stike there after (was put into normal character roster).
So he fits perfectly into the "in between" aspect of SF4...well as a boss anyways. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the final boss in SF4.
For me to make a list of potential boss characters I have this:
(Order from most logical)
- Gouki (see above)
- Urien (Gill is the boss in 3S. but wasn't Urien his 2nd in command. maybe he challenged the world warriors at some point before 3S saga...I dunno)
- Bison (because he's is the original)
- New Character (well giving this person a story...would be kinda hard to fit in what's already been done)
Well that's all I got. I honestly HATE the fact that this game is in between SF2 and 3. Couldn't possibly put this game, in such a horrible time frame! If the game is intended before 3 after 2...then why the fuck would u call this game SF4? Last time I check 4 comes after 3...I dunno....
Stupid...but I'm going to play the game anyways...and have fun along the way...:woot:

iv said this already in another thread, none of those qualify as a good boss, theyre just personalities
ono wants it to be more like street fighter 2, well he's gonna need the four bosses treatment again, they're individual personalities
balrog - being more like a traditional big guy overpowering boss, an animal you need to control
Vega - being a swift and crafty fighter that has a moment that is tense (fence climbing) and makes you think even more than you already are
Sagat - both of the above but presurizing from far away and punishing you for making it across the screen.
M.Bison - all of the above, being a bit more like vega but just basically punishing you for being anywhere near the guy.
if something like this isnt implemented im going to be a lil bit disappointed

Mr. Jabhadouken: it's unfortunate for you that, at your age (what are you, like, 47 now?), you've never EVER contributed jack-shit to ANY fighting game scene, yet you still insist on posting in threads as though you're some sort of O.G. Of all the games that I've had the "pleasure" of playing you in, you've failed to impress even me in the slightest, and, according to you, I'm nothing special. You are, frankly, too old to be doing this shit still, posting on here, correcting the grammar of people half your age. It's so ironic hearing you, of all people, tell ANYONE to get a life: you're 47, jobless, unmarried, with a degree in bullshit, AND you're not even good at second thing you claim to be good at (you are one of the best amateur artists I've ever met, though -- I'll give you that one). Yeah, I'd say there's nothing anyone can do to you that life hasn't already. "Get a life, " yeah, that's rich... C'mon, man. Please, PLEASE stop posting in SRK, and, for the love of God, I'm begging you to stop claiming to play fighting games. Go out and make real, physical, flesh and bone friends. You know? I hope a moderator does ban me again: it'll save me the agony of logging into to SRK only to find that you're still babbling on and on about...you know, about...about...well, whatever it is that you're always babbling about. You say that I'm contributing nothing to SRK? I disagree: I am doing my best to rid it of filth like you. Name a time, any time, that you've ever posted anything that actually helped someone in ANY thread, as opposed to just putting down how bad they are at spelling, punctuation, or anything else that you've deemed yourself proficient at? There is no one on this site that benefits from your presence at all. In fact, people like you only make others feel insecure about posting because of fear that you're going to say something derogatory at their expense. Maybe one day you'll finally grow the fuck up and start acting your age. You're nothing more than a dried-up, washed-out husk of a college student that's bitter because he couldn't make it. That's why you insist on posting: you have to keep reminding yourself, as well as others, that you have some semblance of smarts upstairs. Well, we're all thoroughly impressed. Now, will you please leave us alone? Anyway, may you have lots of luck in your future endeavors. I wish you only the best in any future attempts to convince people that you're "hip" with the scene. By the way, I implore you to reconsider the anal pleasure thing -- I feel like it could really take our relationship to a new level. :wgrin:
P.S. -- For someone who abhors parrying so passionately, you sure do have an interesting signature. Allow me to ask you your own question: do you really like parrying, or do you just like it because you saw Daigo do it? lol You big silly-head.

Actually you have a good point there, Gouki would be a good boss as far as storyline goes, but my guess with Capcom is that they will do the new boss thing anyway.

The same reason Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Castlevania, Tenchu, Samurai Shodown and other series don't have games released in chronological order. It's all about gameplay advancements. Why should SF be any different?

For me the best thing is to have a personal boss for each character, but I heard the final boss will be a brand new character with something like a sphere in the chest.

Sentinel from MvC2. It only makes sense for him to be in the game. After reading the transcripts of SF4, I suspect more marvel characters.

I would like it if they continue to link each character to another character in the game because it makes interesting story development for sub bosses. As for an over all boss, there's a few things on my mind. First and fore most is the trend of having over powered bosses unusable in competetive play. This is something I don't like as it's just a waste of a character, but by thinking about it you come to realise this has to happen because, well it's the boss. But it would be nice to see a toned down alternative to the final boss, a one that's actually usable competetively, and a final form so to say. Not for visuals or story line but to keep it so they can be usable.
As a good example, 3S did the complete oposite of this and had a completely broken, pointless character which was unusable. However a lot of the previous games and games that were inspired by previous games got it right on the odd occasion. Like CVS2 for example, had S.Akuma and U.Rugal, but also had a regular Rugal and regular Akuma. Even though they weren't that good in that game, the concept's still the same and the characters were actually usable.

Plot in Street Fighter? While I'm in love with the artistic direction, the personality that some of the characters possess and the gameplay (of course).....It holds very little concern to the developer and some arcade purists. I have yet to see one individual buy any SF game solely for plot advancement. Kataklysmic was right, Street Fighter is about gameplay advancements. I'm sure anyone who follows the storyline of street fighter could tell you that each game had somewhat changed what was canon.
I just have a distinct feeling we're going to be victims of M. Bison being boss plus his three horsemen of the apocalypse, so this thread has the potential to take the biggest "L" when the finished product arrives.

Yeah - but S.Akuma and G.Rugal were each a team unto themselves.
They really weren't the sheer and utter lameness that Gill was.
Gill and such are broken and completely useless, save for offering up a challenge that has absolutely no value as far as the main area of play (human versus) is concerned.

My goodness, you're sensitive  all this time I thought we were friends, bro. I am disappointed to hear that there will be no anal pleasure, that's for sure. However, since you see it so fit to share these notable truths with me, I'd like to share some with you:
Wow...
A creepy e-stalker spouting deranged lies about the person who continually rejects his lunatic advances... :looney:
Pretty pathetic.
Do you even have a tenuous grasp on reality?
Moot question really - of course you don't.
All that you are capable of is spewing slanderous, hate-filled lies.
I'm not offended though - you're clearly insane.
I mean, I can see how someone else might readily hate you...
...but that would require an emotional investment in you, that I simply could never, ever muster.
But that's what your loco hate is all about anyway, isn't it?
Once again, I assert that I want nothing to do with you.
Fuck off.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! You really are an idiot, bro. I'm not stalking you, you simple retard. I'm simply posting in the same thread as you. This is a public thread that displays everyone's name -- it was pure coincidence that I found you in this thread. I was curious to see what people were saying about Street Fighter IV, and I found your comments. That's like saying anyone that replies multiple times to something you say is e-stalking you if you don't like it, douche. I'm not threatening you, nor do I plan on doing any physical harm -- you just can't handle what I have to say. If you can't tolerate the comments of others maybe your not grown up enough to post in a thread, ass. Like I said, I hope a moderator does see our comments considering you insulted the grammar of the person that made the thread in the first place, and that's what started my pathos to begin with. Seriously, if I were stalking someone like you (seeing as I know you personally), I'd be as sad as you, big guy. I'm not gonna lie, however, I'm kind of enjoying seeing how long before you stop arguing back. I guess you're one of those "I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I"-type people, huh? lol If you don't want to talk to me anymore, stop direct-quoting my comments, then replying back. I mean, really. I'd say you're doing more stalking than me, what, with you quoting everything I say verbatim, then making homosexual implications to me. Anyone that wanted to could simply go back to the beginning of our comments and see that you started that -- it had nothing to do with anything, so I don't know why you said that. Maybe you were hoping for an affirmative response, I dunno. :wgrin:

...and, no. You quit hanging out with me in the real world for a number of reasons:
1. You got sick of losing to me and "nameless others" in 3rd Strike.
2. We made fun of you for always showing your ass-crack while wearing blue jeans.
3. Your g/f had you on such a short leash that we finally got sick of having you over, because that meant her calling my phone 10 times a visit.
4. Oh, I forgot that we also teased you for getting mad while trying to self-mod your HRAP II, messing it up, throwing it in a dumpster, and then buying another one, only to find that you never used it.
5. We got sick of you always asking us, "My Elena's getting pretty good, right?", when in reality: no, no she wasn't getting pretty good.
6. You say, "You know?" in response to EVERY-FUCKING-THING!!!!!
7. You were horrible at accepting criticism. You'd always get offended when we tried to offer sound advice, like we were saying that you didn't know anything (WOW!! That might explain why your Elena never improved!!!).
8. You always did creepy things like getting "RTSD" embroidered on a fitted ball cap, and wearing it everywhere we went. We, uh, thought that was maybe taking it too seriously...just a little.
9. You embarrassed me everytime I had you over while my black friends were over. They and I got tired of you trying to "blend in" by using black colloquialisms and attempting to speak with an accent.
10. *And this one is possibly the worst of all* You had been lying to me about your age for almost 2 years!!! I found out that you were almost 10 years older than you had told me, only because when I worked at EB Games I had to check your ID when you did a pre-order!!! HOW CREEPY IS THAT SHIT?!

anywho, I don't care what kind of bosses there are in this games, I don't mind Bison again...I would prefer to do without Gill...
but personal mid-bosses and then another sort of end-boss sounds good
either this
What about a character that's toned down for players, but really cheesey as the final boss, like Fat Bison in A3?
And a personal sub-boss?
or this
I likes the personal boss

I always liked the personal boss. That way, you don't have to come up with some dumb reason for fighting the universal end boss for each character when they have nothing to do with him/her. One of the problems I had with Alpha 3 was that even each character had a personal boss, they still had to fight Bison afterwards.

Making the final boss one of the new playable characters with special properties on their moves and boss only attacks is a good idea. A personal sub-boss before fighting the final boss would be cool too.

Sigh, very well. Here are a few tidbits for you about aegis neglector's insanity. Why has aegis neglector lived alone in a two bedroom apartment for the last couple of years? Why did his roommate not only cease being his roommate, but cease contact with aegis neglector altogether? What was the final straw? Hmmmm. That is a tough one to answer. It's a tossup between the following two issues. Either it was his coming home one day, only to find aegis neglector leaving his [roommate's] room, zipping up his pants, then asking aegis neglector what he was doing in his room, then going into his room to find his keyboard all covered in hand cream from aegis neglector having jacked off on his computer, or else it was the fact that aegis neglector stole several of his games in order to make his share of the rent. Know what's creepier? How about aegis neglector calling me up a couple of weeks after my physically throwing his twat ass out of my apartment, to apologize for his behavior, explaining how he had problems and almost lost his girlfriend and others due to his mental instability, but had gotten better after seeing a psychiatrist intensively (evidently he has since stopped taking his medications). How about how he lost his job for nickle and dime theft from kids and old ladies, and, to hear him tell the tale, was almost unfairly prosecuted for his thievery? Seriously, if the little loon wants to talk bullshit lies about my person - as if he actually knows shit about me - then here are a few FACTS about him. If you'd care for some more, then by all means - just ask. There are countless reasons why I don't associate with the little sociopath - his lies being but a fraction of them.

Actually, the funny thing was, I walked in on my roommate at his computer. Bit of a correction, too: he was an AstroGlide type of guy, not a hand creme type of guy. I love how you've taken things I TOLD YOU and skewed them to have something "mean" to say about me. FYI: Justin, my old roommate, was precisely one of the black friends of mine that hated you. In fact, he always told me, after you visited (and come to think of it, to your face, too), "Why don't you just be yourself?" Also, Justin and I are still good friends. I apologized for entering his room without knocking first, and after a couple of weeks, the awkwardness was gone. In fact, we still breakdance together; we have a national battle coming up on April 5th at the Illini Union in the ABC Ballroom if you'd like to go. Entry is about $5, and the doors open around 4. By the way, my girlfriend and I are doing fantastic, thanks for bringing it up! As a matter of fact, we've been living together for the last 2 1/2 years, but you knew that considering you'd been to my place, silly. It was 3 years in October, and we're planning on moving to Chicago to both transfer to UIC within about a year, after which point I am considering applying for the JET program to go see Japan again. Oh, and FYI the sequal: I quit my job, I wasn't fired. This was after my store manager (Marcus Troutman), our other store manager (Seth Lazarus), and the Bloomington store manager (I can't remember his name lol) had all been fired. Our District Manager, Jeff Marshall, was already angry with me for calling in for a week due to the flu, and he and I have never quite seen eye to eye. I was written up for calling in a bit too late the last day that I did so, and I put 2 and 2 together. I thought it prudent to quit, considering the new owners of EB Games, Gamestop, seemed to be "downsizing" the old staff. It's funny, actually. I just played pool up at Jupiter's II Friday night with Seth. After a few drinks, he told me that before Marcus took his spot in the mall store, Seth always considered me his best salesman BECAUSE OF my honesty. Wow. Ironic, huh?

That was a couple of years ago, so, yeah, about 34 or 35. lol You'd think I'd know the exact date seeing as I'm an "e-stalker", huh? But, yeah, I'm 24, and the guy told me he was my age.
More on aegis neglector: How a customer hurt his feelings and disliked his being an ass to him, and complained. All this aegis neglector told me, and then proceeded to tell me how he had kept the guy's pesonal information - phone number, home address, etc, and how he intended to wait a month or so and then, with his brother, go and slash the guy's tires and otherwise destroy his property. How his father is a whiney little bitch who left him, to hear aegis neglector whine like a little bitch about it. How he is such a success that he sold his blood plasma for over a year (and other things quote unquote his) to be able to afford to go to Japan, after which he was yet again unemployed for months and living off his mother, until his girlfriend managed to get him a job as a waitress . How the creepy little weirdo would notice every little new detail in my wardrobe, and would comment on them (oooh new - good lookin'! [[shudder]]) - even a new stocking cap that looked nearly identical to 3 otheres I had. Yeah... no homo there.

Me frustrated? Nah. I just couldn't believe that there were so many little morons on SRK who would laud aegis neglector's deranged behavior. You have proven me wrong - congratulations!

If you are truly the quality of person for whom SRK was created, then I shall gladly stop posting here with the knowledge that SRK is designed for the lowest possible semblence of humanity.

I agree we should get a boss that's an exaggerated version of a playable character.
I also hope akuma makes a return appearance, as he could be a good personal boss for ryu, and even a good exaggerated version boss with his double air fireball bullshit.
