Was actually wondering who on these boards still play DOOM to this day...and if so have they played/finished Deus Vult II with insights and routes. I'm currently finishing up a basic UV Max non-speedrun and I must say that this level set is epic.
Discuss anything DOOM...but in particular DVII...

Blame Doom 3.
Now what in the hell are you talking about?

To hell with DOOM 3 ...I disregard that one even existing...I'm talking about DOOM II and the many user-created maps that circulate the net...
The Deus Vult series (1 & 2) is one ov those map sets that appeal to only the hardcore (massive detail, monster counts range from 600-nearly 3000). Other WAD files ov note include the Hell Revealed series and Alien Vendetta when it comes to detail and monster count/difficulty.

I play it with my girlfriend since she has a shitty ass computer and DOOM is the best thing that her computer can support.

I haven't played DVII but heard it's very good. The first was pretty fun.
I got some screenshots I just want to share... it's from a project I'm releasing for DOOM II in december.

I played Doom II seriously up to college, but I enjoyed playing with a serious bunch of players back then. A certain port of Doom got too worried about cheaters and closed off the source code, and after that I had no interest in playing it anymore.

I actually bought the DOOM and DOOM II collector's discs not too long ago from ID, swiped the main WAD files from each, and plugged them into source ports. I had gone through all of both games again, Heroes of Doom, Heroes of Doom 2, several ZDOOM-specific hub-style maps, and was actually considering making levels with the new generation of level editors (Slade is a godsend for a guy who used such archaic editors like DEU, EdMap, DCK, etc.) when my old rig died.
I haven't done the DOOM thing on the new machine yet, and honestly I think I may have outgrown it. I do occasionally play on 360 though.

&
IDKFA
I still remember it to this day! My Mom got me into Doom! She beat all of Doom I and Doom II and when I was around 6 years old I would sneak onto the computer and play it without her knowing!
Who remembers Blake Stone??

Blake Stone was dope.
I just remembered IDKFA and IDSPISPOPD.
I used to play Death Match with my friend on the 56k, it was fun. Though I'm not into FPS as much as I was back in the day, but I did play Doom 2 last year after spending hours trying to figure out how to play it on windows vista.

Doom 2 is a classic and I still wouldn't mind playing it again. Playing on the Dwango stages was too fun, Dwango 5 ftw.

Doom 1 and 2 always have a home on my HD. I like playing them through the Doomsday engine just to have freelook and high resolutions, but I keep the sprites. I love the old sprites.
Also, I put Doom 64 on here, too, runs through Doomsday as well, Doom 64 is pretty good.

Yup, don't play it regularly anymore but used to be a huge DOOM-head. Might go check it out again after reading this thread reminded me of it.
Downloaded extra stages, bought expansion packs, etc etc. I remember at school, I had an issue of CVG magazine which previewed DOOM and I literally could not stop myself from staring at each screenshot, one after the other. Hadnt seen anything like it before.
Anyway, will check out this new version, thanks for the headsup.

I remember playing in multiplayer how I was the only one in my group of friends who knew how the BFG really worked. Fire it at a wall and quickly spin to look at everyone you want to die.
