Hi, everyone. I'm thinking about talking to the new manager at my local game store about running a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 tournament. The store (gamecrazy) has a great deal of tournaments planned for the new games, including SSBB, Unreal tournament 3, Mario Kart Wii, Guitar Hero III, etc. Even though MvC2 is an old game, why not have it as a change of pace? Heck, the store is even hosting a Tekken 5 tournament. I've known the new manager since he was an assistant manager three years ago. Do you think I have a shot at this? The reason why I'm even organizing it is because of the interest people have in the game, especially in my community.

You might have better luck in your local thread/section.

Shouldnt you be trying to convince your manager instead of us?

My money is on you not getting your request. Not cause MvC2 is bad, but because there are more contemporary games that would draw more attention

It is an old game, but there's no harm in trying. Only probably with MVC2 is that it's not a mass appeal game. Well it is, but at least in Mario Kart or Unreal, there's the illusion of being able to keep up with a better opponent. Most scrubs will just lose interest after being ROM'ed to death or stomped to death in marvel.
