Is there any way arcade players could synch up with online console players and VS. each other? Just thought it might be kinda cool.

just wondering if this has ever been done?

I don't think there's a need for something like that. However if they had the machines connected to an online network that could allow you to upload replays and what not, VF5 style.. would be really great.

I think it'd be cool if a 360 guy could play a PS3 and so on.
Problem I see in squaring off against people online, macros?

Different Net Platforms, different net code, unless it was intended from the onset, its not happening.

Since that nullifies most of the reasons I go to the arcade to begin with, hell no. Imagine how gay it would be if you walked in and some person would rather hog the machine to play some console scrub in lag instead of you. Paying per game to play online doesn't sound like a good idea either.

Seriously, all this "me too" business annoys me. Random onliners want the best of everything. Now they want to play arcade players? If you want to do that, you know what needs to be done.

Edit: Well this is some irony. My connection is so shitty right now that I can barely navigate SRK.

nah but online players playing arcade players? in a perfect world with no lag then yes. but no one would want to waste money on lag if they left there house for it... if its a cab and u had options you could CHOOSE... then it might work.

It will not happen. Sony and Microsoft were asked about this and said no. So this is just another useless thread, like most are on this site...

The problem is in the semantics. What exactly would be the pricing scheme?

I personally would love if the arcades switched to the LAN center model (http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=4408056&postcount=34).

A LAN style arcade would have been awesome at the KoF 98UM loc test. No waiting in line for a half hour before playing, and no waiting and hour for them to set it up.
