best mame emulator?

i want to play some arcade game but dont know which is the best emulator, can someone suggest me one?

i just download mame32 and put some game in the roms folder and then launch it, but no game show up, can someone tell me me whats going on? btw the games are pretty recent from 2001 and up

its between NFBA for fighters and mame for everything else lol
