The best thing to do is just look forward to whatever comes of it--and if there are issues I guess just state your claims without possibly inciting arguing. Isn't Gouken totally dead according to the timeline? It would be pretty stupid to "announce him" as "one of the new world warriors you can fight with!" I mean unlocking him and having his story mode be like a flashback kind of thing okay I guess that could work...but like...Ryu and Ken's character models would be too old to be used...it would be gay to say "some random kid in 1998 decided to run a computer simulation on what would happen if Gouken were still alive today" *fade into Gouken's story mode in SF4*. I dunno, I'm not saying Gouken or Gotetsu can't possibly be shoe-horned into this game somehow I'm just saying I highly doubt that there is any non-ridiculous way to "announce him on Friday" as "the latest brand new character for street fighter 4: A new beginning for people who were once dead!"

Even with my own speculations, its really hard to tell who the character will be. We all thought that the "green and red" blobs were Cammy and as far as we all know she's not in the game. It could be a completely new character, but since Capcom likes to run the Hype Machine in the ground we have to wait until Friday.

This new character even looks like a Muscle Bomber character, El Blaze is just Rey Mysterio.

He may not even be a grappler type...Sure he's a Luchador, but that could simply mean he has lots of acrobatics in his moves, such as moonsault or a clothesline that's like a flying cross chop. He could be the Claw / Vega of the Game.

He kind of reminds me of a mix of Olimpico and El Santo (classic/simpler mask). The three stars do look a bit weird but then using a Rey Misterio/La Mascara style of mask would make look too much like a El Blaze ripoff.

For the record, I think El Fuerte looks awesome, and he'll be right at home with the other SF characters. I can't wait to see in-game footage and getting an idea of what kind of moves he's got.

there's a whole style of wrestling where hundreds of dudes in a professional league wear masks like that, and there's rey mysterio, and an older capcom wrestling game with a luchador in it, and there's mucha lucha the cartoon show, and all of this existed way before virtua fighter 5, yet somehow, THIS PARTICULAR character was STOLEN FROM Virtua Fighter by Capcom. Or like. Wow, once there's a luchador character in one fighting game you can't have them in any more fighting games or else it's unoriginal!

This dude looks awesome, and his style sounds like it has the potential for a mega epic world shattering toothbreaker supernova radbomb movelist. Can't wait to see him in action!

But come on, even considering VF took El Blaze from the idea of the Mexican luchador, it's still pretty weak of Capcom to make a luchador named El Fuerte. The first franchise is the big 3D series in Japan and the second is the big 2D series, it's not like I'm stretching for a connection here. This is at least as weak on Capcom's side as (like you mention) it was for VF to put in Akira.
