First Peach I fought so far :/ Plus the input lag was making my Ganon feel slower, and he doesn't need to be slower in a fuckin Peach battle. Yeah when ganon is on the ledge, just keep a safe distance or get the fuck away. He can suicide right off the ledge.

Sho2, we got some lag today. Last time we played it was so smooth. I decided to just end it because of the laggyness and dinner was about to start.

I couldn't even chain throw, maybe it was the lag, or maybe it was just me sucking, but it was hard to play as Dedede today for some reason.

It doesn't help me you were throwing everything but the kitchen sink at me with Link.

I didn't know you played as Peach. I have to implement turnips into my assplay. lol at every KO in that match being because of the umbrella.

I'm beginning to think that it's something on my end, but it's difficult to tell if it's me or Nintendo's server(s).

Anyway, I just started playing Peach like an hour ago since she's one of the few characters from a Nintendo game that I've actually played and she seems interesting. I played around her (and everyone else except Fox and Falco) in Melee, but I never had any competition.

At the moment, it seems they nerfed the living hell out of her recovery considering her second jump goes nowhere (vertically) and her Parasol doesn't seem to sweetspot the ledge, which would explain why I killed myself on Final Destination like four times (on top of the lag).

I hate Final Destination. :tdown:

But, yeah, we'll have to play again sometime.

It's so easy to get raped by explosives, especially in FFAs with just three people (which is why I turned the computer on for a bit at the end).

You did quite good, especially since you kept switching characters. I find it hilariously everyone can rush down with Peach but me.

I'd like to play you again sometime, especially now that my Snake has shaken off the rust a bit and that I've sorted decided to play as him and the Mother characters for "mains". (I'll still be playing around with people, though, like Peach.)

Belated good games to both Zan and TAM (for yesterday) and great games after midnight to TAM. I think my Lucas has gotten significantly better against R.O.B. now that I know what the hell to do, which is why I wanted to see how Snake did against him.

Seems like R.O.B. may have the advantage (at least on FD), especially since I had to eventually turn off the 5-minute time limit since we kept getting bullshit wins through Sudden Death. (I'm assuming the first time you lost on the Sudden Death at FD your Up+B gave out because you didn't land on the ledge, right?)

That Jungle Japes match made realize what an absolutely horrible stage is to fight (with) Snake on. I think it's the only stage in the entire game where the grenades are the same color as the background.

Great games (to everyone I've fought recently, I'm just far too lazy to post in this thread everytime I battle someone).

I wouldn't really say all my character gave you trouble. The only ones that seemed to be giving you considerable grief were Snake and Peach, who I may make my main.

You beat the crap out of my Captain Falcon and Lucas, the former who I never want to play as again and the latter whom I want to main alongside Ness. That first match with Lucas versus PT (Ivysaur) on Battlefield had a great ending even though it came from me stupidly doing something that would have been otherwise suicidal had you managed to dodge. (Note to self: Never ever run towards the ledge and do Up+B straight of the run with Lucas or Ness.)

You played great and you probably would have won more with PT if it wasn't for Ivysaur being so stupidly easy to gimp; I kind of felt like an asshole doing it even though it's valid tactic.

And, hey, I understand the work thing. At least one of us is/was doing it. I had to come early from work yesterday (Saturday) because I had migraine before we got around to playing, so I guess it was fortunate in that sense.

As for Snake, I still wouldn't say that I'm very good or anything and I certainly can't/don't camp worth a damn, but I suppose I can give very general tips:


Learning the timing of all Snake's explosive since they can all damage you when they go off, i.e. Grenades explode after about 4 seconds and C4 and mines automatically explode and disappear, respectively, after 25 seconds.
Even though Cypher is great and all, try not to abuse it against people that have spiking moves.
Abuse the holy shit out of F-tilt. It's easily his most rediculous move. Also remember that you can use the axehandle part even if you miss with the knee, and the axehandle moves Snake forward, making it his longest range physical move.
If someone rolls a lot, either hit them with Forward Smash or plant C4 on them. If they catch on, dive into them (a lot) with his stupidly good Dash Attack.
Even though C4 is an excellent fear tactic and Snake is all about fear, don't go leaving it around all willy-nilly. You may need it to recover, even though instances seem rather rare for me at the moment. Try to use uncharged mines (Down Smash) in place of C4 sometimes if you have some distance. Otherwise, toss grenades around the opponent, but not directly at him (or else you teach him to starting catching them and the whole "grenade stop" trick isn't that quick).
Remember to use the Nikita. It's almost completely indestructible compared to other projectiles. Thus far, the only normal special move that I know that can take out Nikita is another Nikita. Also remember that you can aim it diagonally when it comes out and that even if you get hit, if goes straight up, it will eventually come back down (time seems to vary greatly).


I'm sure there's more that I do without realizing it, but again, I'm not much of a great player.

P.S. I also recorded some matches, particular that one where you got utterly screwed on The Summit. (I swear that stage is so stupid it's funny.) I also recorded that match with Peach where I was a complete asshole on Green Greens. (I swear, somehow her vagina didn't even get singed when I blew up Squirtle).

It only last for a few seconds but you can do so much damage with it. You can kill some characters below 70 %. I'm testing out Olimar, but I'll probably try out some Mid Tier characters I haven't even used yet.

Hmm, well, as far as toon link goes, his light weight's never been a huge issue for me, lemme list all his pros over regular link....

+ much faster
+ much much much better recovery
+ better air moves
+ forward smash combos into both hits and KOs really well
+ an actual good up smash
+ projectile spams just as well if not better than older link thanks to stuff like the quick draw technique with the bow
+ dair spikes people, guaranteed off a foot stool jump
+ slower moving projectiles help with his pressure game

- Lighter Weight
- Slightly less range

So yeah, I'd definitely give him a shot over regular link and see if you like him or not.

It might just be because I've been frustrated about pretty much everything else in life at the moment, though.

You have a good Luigi. Nothing Luigi has can stop the tornado unless you stop him at the starting animation. That Jimmy fucker ended one of our games when he lost and left. I'll be experimenting with characters for a while till I find the right one. GGs everyone.

That xsamx dude was me. And actually, I saw a lot of luigi's moves beat out tornado, which was surprising me. I think a lot of my problem with my moves losing to yours was lag related since it took me time to get in the groove of lag games.
