It isn't just marth I do that too...It prevents people from landing and if you don't tech it's free so why not? =D I can tell your marth is good though.

Yeah, so many get killed on that part even though it has gives you the second most warning time.

Although that part where the ramp goes up is the worst for people (not paying attention) since there is no explicit warning, even though I thought the pattern seemed kind of obvious after the first time I got to that part of the stage.

Good games, though. For some reason you get the running attack out way more often than I do. I think I just suck at running. :bluu:

I still don't think the match is a total lost if the sonic player isn't running into hits like i was....but it's hard to play that match I admit cause for one thing...I don't expect slow ass Ike to rush me down with his forward b with NO LAG...second one being what I believe is his aerial a with no lag when he lands...everytime i play an Ike i'm always running into his aaa combo or he just SO happens to be doing his up smash...It's going to be a lot of work for the sonic player in order to win that match...oh and so far I don't think there's anything sonic can do about Ike getting back on the fuckin stage...I still gotta try to figure that one out without getting....AEEEETTHERRR...GRRAAAAUUGGHH!!

Epic GG's (especially on lylat cruise) our 1v1's were really close every match went down to the last stock with us being over 100%.

I picked FD a lot because I thought that's what you wanted since our first few matches you picked it so I really didn't care what stage we played on.

Not to take away from how well you played because you're definitely the best competition I've had so far and you have a really good marth but IMO meta knight is at a significant disadvantage against him. His range and KO power make it very hard for meta knight to do anything especially when I was in the air not to mention as marth you can easily KO me at 80% while I had to get you to like 150% to get the same results lol.

Everyone especially gimpyfish (mod on smashboards) agree that marth is a really bad matchup for MK:

Well online I think Meta is slightly better since it's harder to space with Marth unless the match has very little lag.

Metaknight's Mach Torando has too much priority, but I found out in that match that Shieldbreaker beats it, which made me so happy, cuz the Tornado always gave me trouble.

Honestly I feel like Marth would only have advantage cuz he kills so fucking early, not just compared to Metaknight, but compared to the whole cast.

As you said, Marth can kill someone at 80. This makes him very dangerous.

But fuck that shit....

Second off, I would just like to clarify that my sounding bitter and frustrated was because I was bitter and frustrated, but not at you (outside of getting raped by both regular and FS neutral B, especially since I've had Zelda survive Galaxia Darkness at higher percentages than Snake died at yesterday...and then I remembered that was on Pokemon Stadium, which we never played on).

Lastly, I just realized that even if the Wiimote by itself isn't exactly what I thought it could be--for some reason, rolling seems more difficult than it should be, I could also try and use the Wiimote and Nunchuck since I've been wanting to see how (not) useful that configuration is.

Thank you for the good games, I just wished that I had played much better on my part, but I probably won't be using Snake for a while since he is now horribly shamed.

Metaknight's Mach Torando has too much priority, but I found out in that match that Shieldbreaker beats it, which made me so happy, cuz the Tornado always gave me trouble.

Part of me feels "happy" and then a larger part of me dies inside upon the realization that this meansMarth got yet another toy of sorts.

Yeah. I think we just figured out the "balancing" aspect of Olimar's Final Smash: He leaves his Pikmin behind to be killed. He's even more of a bastard than I am. :woot:

And, for that actually being my first time playing as him against people, I was surprised I didn't get beasted by Metaknight more.

I unno. I don't have any faves. I always make it my business to kinda get a feel for everyone, then pick apart their weaknesses, and narrow it down from there. Man, I think I would have done better earlier today. Me and my sleep insomnia.

But yea, it's obvious you had me on lock with Wolf. I couldn't do anything, really. Probably wouldn't have made any difference if we played at any other time of the day.

Pretty much every character has at least one move that can beat Mach Tornado head on.

Also it's weak from the top. Just plow right in thier at max speed and let him have it goddamit.

Move spam is too good in this game.

Since the more you use a move the weaker it gets in power and knockback, whoring one move ensures your other moves to at full power or close to it. Plus ome moves are just stupid good and are begging to be spammed.

Move spam is a part of the system and thier are plenty of ways around it. Not move spamming means you are holding back, which is disrespectful to your oppoenent. If your opponent is weaker than you, then fine you don't have to spam since you are already the stronger player.

But if I'm facing someone like Orochi or Shade who I conside to be good players, then I will spam them hard.

Anything else would be disrespect.

Anawesome Melee player named Eggm from Jersey swore up and down that Ike couldn't beat Pikachu due to thunder shock spam. He actually beat Azen's Ike IRL and made him switch characters in a Brawl tourney.

I said to him, "Do you really want the madness brought down on you?"

So we do the match and he wins the first one. Barely. He has one stock left.

Next match.

I get through his spam now that I know what I'm doing.

I 2 stock him.

He says to me, "Damn, lol. The madness."

I agree. but it does show that the game has a HUGE FLAW because of the lack of active spacing (i.e. wavedash- and I honestly hate saying this but the floaty jumps hinder the offensive mindset of play to substitute for WDing.) and extra-overprioritized and underprioritized attacks.

For example, certain attacks only have their maximum priority at certain distances, however in the game this is much harder to achieve because to have to walk back, turn around if you're facing something that completely overprioritizes you.

(i.e. Pit's and Meta Knight's attacks, which are too quick to jump around or roll past offensively, but have a high enough priority to keep you at bay because certain characters have no moves that can clash.)

Trust me, once people start realizing just how much this game is a priority battle more than just a simple battle of convenience and skill will the tiers really start becoming hardcore marginalized.

Honestly, I don't know much that I can tell you. You played safe and smart. I would say play like a bitch and just toss uncharged aura spheres at me also called baby spheres. Shit is annoying and gay, but so what? Tell that to Ryu in ST. If shit works use it.

Also don't go trying to link AA combo into tilts. It ain't worth it IMO. Hit stun in Brawl is so minimal that sometimes stuff like that works and sometimes it doesn't.

I would use smashes a little more cautiously. Sometimes you got smash happy. I think you were scared or nervous. I would say make sure to DI back when doing double fairs in the air. Creates a wall of Aura that's a bitch to deal with. So combine that with baby sphere spam and you can be quite annoying to fight. DI is important for Lucario to stay safe so remember that.

I can't stress this enough. I was hitting you in the air. That should never happen in this game.

Combos don't exist, but you let me combo you.

Wolf is a cheap ass piece of shit that really needs to be banned IMO.

His gun is hax. It has a bayonet on it that hits when he pulls it out then he shoots the laser and it combos. Awesome!

Use reflector to reflect projectiles when people try to camp you. Then laser them to camp em right back. That'll remind em of thier place, you bet your sweet ass it will!

Bair is awesome. Fast and alot of power. Wolf has bad recovery so practice with his recovery alot so you get a feel for it.

Wolf has a solid approach. Approach with Nair and fast fall with it. It can lead to a free AAA combo maybe even a d-smash or a grab, but I gotta test it.

Dair can pop them up for a free aerial. Just use w/e is best for the situation.

All of Wolf's samshes are fucking hax, but F-smash hand D-smash are the best ones. F-smash covers alot of range combos into itself, is very fast and hard to punish on block. D-smash is very powerful, killing heavy weights around 120 and is extremely safe on block.

You could spam his smashes for half the match and be in good shape I kid you not.

His tilts aren't that amazing. But his f-tilt is very good. Combo's into itself and is pretty safe. He can aim it up or down so he can use f-tilt in place of his other tilts. His u-tilt can be used for combos though, which makes it decent. D-tilt is good, but F-tilt is better and has equal range so it won't see use all that often.

His U-smash is good, but not as good as his other smashes. Still does good damage though.

D-throw is the throw of choice. Can lead to chain throwing on certan characters at low percents since it doesn't knockdown. At the very least it causes a mix-up situation that is greatly in your favor.

Well that's all I can think of for now.

As I play my Wolf and Lucario more and remember mores tuff then I'll let you know.

Its pretty interesting to see how Wario can fight Ike. Punishing quick draw is pretty bad for Ike. That and you need to mix up your ledge recoveries. Sometimes you should fall down, then come back up, jump from the ledge, roll from it, or just recover without attacking. Mixing it up is key, or i could just fsmash you each time.

The last match was great, Wario Waft is epic!
