They confirmed c.Roundhouses could be canceled into special moves in an interview.

Hahaha, wow at the lack of ST knowledge.
That is one of Ryu's best spacing techniques in ST. Canceling a c.RH into Hadoken when the c.RH is blocked.

I like 3S. It is all a matter of taste. Also, if they have shin shoryuken in this game, we better get CvS Ryu's c.RH into Shin Shoryuken.

Mixah, you're better than that. CvS2 may be the deepest game there is. I just started playing it but it kicks ass. It is far more difficult to learn than 3s, but I think it is also a natural progression for 3s players to learn and take interest in CvS2. At least thats how it has been for me. I still play 3s way more but I definitely think CvS2 is a way better game from an unbiased, skill requiring point of view. Being as you are a Marvel player I would think it would appeal to you. You should give it a shot. Hope all is well with you, haven't seen you since NEC. You should show up at Castle Fight Night for 3s or something. get in the IRC 3s chat, #eastcoast3s (EFNet). Lot of people in there all the time. Join up, and tell everyone you know to join up too.

in all honesty..... i've given CvS2 as much possible chances I can. I just feel it's a slow-paced technical fighter. I don't like the difficulty in just learning how to cancel shit (eg. sagat's c.hp xx super) I like strategy in fighitng, not taking time just to figure the basics outs, then the strategy comes in... it's what turns me off about GGXX and Virtua Fighter... Just not my cup of tea...
If I recall correctly, you can in CvS 1. And yes, Mixah, I gave up on CvS also. Just waaaay too much to learn and then execution woes makes it even harder.

Thanks for that pat remark.
People on these boards tend to run their mouths about shit they're completely clueless about. This thread just makes it painfully obvious. That's all I'm trying to say.
Ryu go!

well i guess it's a good thing they include it. It helps zoning n' shit.
I'm still hoping they include Ryu's joudan thingy....

Question to author: What good would Cr. HK-->QCF+P do you if your opponent's gonna whup your ass with a Revenge combo after they block the Haduken?

yo, seriously, i just stick to my 3S and MvC2... I don't touch other games, nor do I want to. I stopped playing ST about a year and half ago... I dunno... shit just doesn't phase me anymore.

i always loved how the ST CPU would do cross up forward, low short x 241, link low roundhouse xx hadoken. whenever i get a sudden urge to play ST, usually that image is on top of the list.

i just want to know something...
was SF2's difficulty that hard only because there's virtually no air defensive tactics (exceptions would be things like air hurricane and spinning bird which change the way you fall as well as drills and the like...)
or was it just programmed to counteract everything that you did? i know that in SF3, you can use akuma vs. the shotos, get them in the corner, and just trap them with air fireballs, because every time they wake up from it, they dragon punch and get smacked.... so every time you're in the air within range, they always dp you...

The latter Mixah. You'd press a button, CPU would throw out some shit that beat it out.

yeah, that's what i thought... i just hate that i used to play super turbo with everybody at ctf (then the machine broke), and i'd do really well and win a LOT of games (my second best game at that point, alpha 2 being my number one)... and i couldn't ever beat deejay, a shoto, guile, sagat, vega, bison, or t.hawk consistently in ST... shit pissed me off EVERY FUCKING DAY... :( i still haven't seen Gief, Hawk, and Fei's ending in real life.. only pics online

Fun fact: You couldn't do it in the GDC build. Some day, that tidbit will be important in a future random SRK thread.

Sagat's cancels are all pretty easy, but some characters have pretty difficult cancels. Geese comes to mind.
In terms of being punished by a revenge combo for constantly doing c.rh xx qcf+p, it's probably all dependent on spacing. Some characters will probably have revenge attacks that will punish while others may be unable to. Most dp revenge attacks probably cannot punish because the spacing will be too far to actually make contact. In short, you might even do more bad then good when you decide to revenge against c.rh xx hadouken because whiffing a tiger uppercut or shoryken is bad news.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhX-9XBSG-I
Around 1:56, ao does a c.rh cancel to hadouken and his opponent is quite far away meaning a revenge attack would have to cover quite a distance to actually hit ryu during his recovery frames.

i find sagat's cancels hard. i'm used to the cancels in super turbo by now (i've been playing the shit for 8 years........), but i just didn't want to relearn shit for cvs2.... i dunno.... i gave it about ten minutes, and i'm like... fuck this...
but whatever... this thread doesn't need to be about my ignorance and scrubbery
