IF SF1 came out in 1987 why is the 20th anniversary being celebrated in 08?

They're running a little late... HD remix should be out. The announcement of SF4, i'm guessing is the anniversary gift to all who play street fighter.

True, SFIV is the anniversary gift.....
But i think that HD remix should be that gift because it should be released late 07....
but hey, wut can we do?

I believe that SF1 came out in 1988 in the USA. And now Capcom USA owns the street fighter license. Meaning the anniversary is celebrated in 08.
