Should men use them or not? I myself been using them since i've been married & let me tell you loofahs really do exfoliate your skin making it feel radiant & soft. Im curious what does SRK think of Loofahs?

Definitely ungay. I barely have to put any of my Dove bodywash on it to work it into a rich and creamy lather to cover my entire body.

The exfoliating is just an added bonus but then again, it does feel nice being able to slip into the silk sheets without feeling like I'm scraping across them.

Totally saves me on buying bodywash more often too.

My mom actually got me one with some bodywash and cologne she had bought me. I don't like them all that much, personally. My sister swears by those things though.

It's possibly because the one I've got is brand new and thus kinda rough on my skin.

I've been using them for a few years now and let me tell you, taking a shower without one is like getting kicked in the nuts.

Loofahs are instant lather. Those old-school soap commercials where a guy washes himself with all that perfect lather: impossible. You'll waste half the soap.

By the way, my Loofah is blue.

Conserving shower gel is also a giant benefit to Loofahs.

There is also a huge difference in quality. You can buy cheap Loofahs from anywhere. However, they are way too soft and literally fall apart after a couple of weeks.

The best Loofahs by far come from Bed, Bath and Beyond. They are a bit pricey ($6), but they will last and are durable. The Loofah itself is initially rough and rugged, but after using it a few times, it is as dependable as a Captain Commando assist.

It is just a threaded sponge that you use with bodywash. Plus it saves you money because you use less bodywash and get more soap.

So unless your sticking the fucking loofah wrist deep in your ass, it is not gay to be clean and frugal by saving money on soap.

I've used loofahs for most of life (now I use a basic washcloth but I might have to switch back) and never even knew it. I thought loofahs were the kind of sponges that you put on your arm and scrub yourself with (the one in the first post of this page). :rofl:

I use one with a frog inside it. It is cute and keeps me clean.

I also use body butter after taking a shower so I am smooth, smell good, and sensually delicious.

Don't use that Axe/Old Spice/Man Body wash shit, you end up smelling like some cheap ass laundry detergent.

Ya'll gotta get on some of that girly shit. It's the real deal. The swiss one, with the H20, I forget what it's called, it's diesel. The vanilla one and the green one are awesome too.

Dial makes some great body washes too.

If you gotta go with the man body wash, get the old spice aqua reef/pure sport/glacial whatever one. Those are the best and actually smell pretty damn good. They dry your skin out and make you itchy though.

I haven't tried any of that axe stuff because I don't want to smell like a middle school dance.

Also keep your lotion game up, dry hands are NEVER sexy.

The loofah is the ultimate in soap conservation. Admittedly, I am not the most conscientious shower taker around. I rarely use the loofah, and consequently use much more soap and water than is necessary. But when the shampoo runs low and you need to maximize that shit, the loofah is the weapon of choice. Shit gets done.

Loofahs aren't gay, but running out of soap because you used a handful to wash your left armpit is pretty stupid.

And I don't know what this "exfoliating" shit is all about, but check your dick to make sure it isn't actually a vagina. Just in case.

I've tried loofas before. There's nothing wrong with them, but I'm not a fan of body washes. Loofas don't go too well with a bar of soap, so I don't use them.

Irish Spring body wash? I need to buy some tomorrow, running low on my body wash so I'll go and try that shit out. So far any Old Spice and Axe stuff I've used hasn't made my skin itchy or dry, but then again I've never had any kind of skin problems like that. Then again SRK is black so I may be the minority here. :lol:

I'm relatively new to the whole loofah/body wash thing, and the only soaps I've used so far are the Old Spice Red Zone "After Hours" scent and the Axe "Essence" sent. After Hours smelled pretty damn good, and Essence wasn't bad either. Unfortunately for Axe, Essence was the only one that had a smell I liked. Gonna go look for that Irish Spring stuff tomorrow when I go to the grocery store.

As far as the skin drying and itchiness, I think it depends on what type of skin you have. I've used a couple different body washes, I think Dial actually made me the itchiest of all, but I've settled on Old Spice because I like the smell, quantity for price is good, and I feel like a million bucks after a good loofa + OS shower. Also, the semi-dry skin effects work in my favor because my face gets pretty oily and I used to use skin-drying face wash to counter acne, but now I just Old Spice Loofa everything and I almost never break out. The only weird thing about that is that I clean my face after my body, so it's still awkward knowing that I've cleaned my ass with the same loofa that I scrub on my face and neck... but then i say fuck it, it's all soapy foam foamy soap!

also, exfoliation is dope. everybody hating on it has obviously never noticed the layers of cakey grime that accumulates on their bodies. it's especially good for the face. also, i've used loofas with regular bars of soap before (ran out of body wash and too late at night to go buy a new bottle), and the shit works just as well.

Yeah I use one of these, but I've always called them "scrubbers". Anyway I find they hold on to the soap much longer than a washcloth, so I can wash myself without having to "recharge" the thing with soap every 10 seconds.

and is it even possible for soap to rot? i've had a bar of soap in one of those travel soap containers in my shower for like months (from that one time i ran out of body wash and needed something to cleanse with), and it still smells fine.

also, how often do you guys update your loofahs? somebody told me a while back that you're supposed to change them out every month or so... like once the loofah flaps start getting all loose and floppy, as they begin to look not unlike rotten hooker vagina lips.

They are so straight I use TWO of them.
One is reserved specifically for butt and feet, since I don't want to wash everywhere else with something I'm practically wiping my ass with.
I always call them "poofies" though, I though loofahs were the hella hard scrubby type things.

I've been using this shit for a while now without knowing wtf it was called. Now I know. They are definately nice to use w/ liquid soap, but it's a pain washing your asshole w/ it. :mad:

I can't speak for you, but I never wipe my ass and I love to sit bare-assed in just about anything you can think of--brackish water, medical waste, piles of feces left by other creatures, and so on. What's with all these Axe body wash? I personally cant stand the smell of the body spray...Not to sure i want that on my skin...

the body wash is actually pretty good, doesn't have that pungent burning smell and has some exfoliating beads in it, it costs a grip compared to other body washes though.

Nothing against loofahs, but yeah, they seem pretty "soft". Soft as in sticking your pinky out when drinking from a coffee cup, working out with light weights, etc.

Maybe i'll try out that Axe body wash...Right now i used dat Oil of Olay w/shea butter...Gives it that extra softness to my skin & prevent dryness...

It's been a while since this thread has been responded and I have much to say about a relatively new product.

The product in question is the Axe Detailer. They don't call it a loofah, it's known as a shower tool. The big hype over this is one side is a normal loofah and the other is a deep scrubber.

The loofah side is black and the scrubber is red. It's quite noticeable. Despite the newness the shower tool is a complete failure.

I don't know who designed this thing, but it was no man's man. It has no major advantage over existing loofahs, especially those $6 ones at Bath and Body Works.

The addition of the deep scrubber is not a reason to toss your expensive loofah aside.

A normal loofah would have ample room to expand and get those hard-to-reach places. The Axe version has no such expansion. In fact the Axe loofah is so sad and small it made showering uncomfortable. Only a child-sized man could appreciate the size of this sad loofah.

When I use my normal loofah I give my dick region a tough scrub all around. Same thing with my asshole. I scrub hard but since the loofah expands it's all good. The actual size of the Axe shower tool is roughly the size of your palm.

If you have a large dick, forget it, this is not the loofah for you. The addition of the deep scrubber works all right, but it's not enough to switch things up.

I'll keep my $6 Bath and Body Works loofah.

Yup love my loofah. And thank god this thread got bumped I was debating about buying that new Axe shower tool since my loofah needs to be replaced soon. And is the dove really that much better than just using the old spice or axe shower gels?

Bath and Body Works FTW.

As for best shower gel Axe is good, but I highly recommend any of the Gillette soaps.

They're all fucking fantastic.

Nothing wrong with "pinky out". Shows that you're sophisticated. Just like when I scrub my nuts down with a loofah. Can't be more sophisticated than that shit.
