I did a little bit back in high school, my mother wouldn't let me try out for the team so it was just gym class wrestling for me. My gym teacher was this crazy french lady so it was coed, lol. Some of the girls were actually pretty good.
Good match vids. Took him a fucking week to pin that guy though, but he was pretty slippery. I know how it is in lighter weights, you can't just pin people like the heavyweights can.

Just the movement alotta people don't know but wrestling is more of a mind game then physical. I used to wrestle at a higher weight and when i wrestled those big guys i would be like "Damn" but what u realize that these guys are just as scared

I tried BJJ twice, but I wasn't feeling the whole rolling around with sweaty guys thing, so I stuck to striking arts (Muay Thai and Boxing). A good wrestling base is great for MMA though.
wrestled in hs in grade 12. our school didn't have a particularly competitive team, so while i would throw kids around in practice, i'd get my ass handed to me when i had to go up against guys who actually had good training partners. anyways... i don't know how technical wrestling is taught in other clubs... but it just wasn't emphasized as much as explosiveness. it was all moves... but no details.
also another thing i'm not a fan of is all the bullshit points. really, what is the purpose of awarding points for gut wrenching your opponent (from referee's position).
now i'm doing bjj... everything is technique. don't get me wrong we train very very hard... but it's just way more technical, way more of a chess match. i don't care how big you are, how long you've wrestled for, i have a supreme amount of confidence in my ability to submit you. in the same light, there are 130lb kids at my gym who i can't imagine subbing in my wildest imagination.
best part of hs wrestling though was i paid like 40$ for the WHOLE YEAR and trained 4x a week for like 1.5 hours a day.... bjj a lot more expensive.

looks like im the most experienced wrestler here so far. 4 years.
not trying to start anymore arguments but BJJ and wrestling are two different things. As a wrestler going into BJJ, the some of the natural instincts of wrestling are 100% wrong and i'm finding this out on a daily basis.
anyway, i wrestled before BJJ got hyped up so i'm sure you'll hear, "my bbj is greater than/ more useful your wrestling" but its comparing apples to oranges, they aren't the same.
however, im going to say i miss wrestling and its one of the best/craziest work outs of my life. hah yeah, u get the "homo" disrespect but ppl just dont understand the satisfaction of beating someone skilled.
anyway, let me know how you do and if you have any questions, let me know.
also, im about your weight so what i know applies to you.
NINJA EDIT: just watched your first video. this is your first year? anyway, good energy. if you crank the head, try and do something with it. anyway, since you were on top from neutral, someone was yelling "snake", which was there.
that far-side cradle you hit from neutral SHOULDNT be an option but props on getting it nonetheless. good win
anyways, i'll watch your 2nd vid after practice. hopefully i'll see some shots!

Haha, I would have signed up for that in a heart-beat (assuming the chicks weren't dykes).
Anyways, never wrestled myself, but I did do brackets and score keeping for the local highschool's tournaments for 2 years. Looked interesting, but I never bothered to get into it, looking back though I kinda wish I did while I still had the chance.

I'm still kicking myself for not joining my high school wrestling team, mainly because our coach is an olympic gold medalist. =/

Same thing for me. I'd kill pretty much anyone at my weight in practice or wrestle-offs then I'd be the one getting killed gametime. It's funny, I was one of the best my 9th grade year in HS but once I got varsity my sophomore year, I got worse and worse until senior year where I don't remember winning one fucking match.
Problem is, I wasn't committed to any other forms. To be good, you can't just wrestle folkstyle. You NEED to go freestyle. Greco Roman doesn't hurt either. I wasn't about to give up baseball season for that bullshit.
But yeah, wrestling was definitely awesomely fun. Real tight group of guys. /no homo

sorry, i cant help but give advice... even if you dont need it... never helps to read over.
2nd vid: good follow after his switch and even better that you caught the wing. keep the wing tight, keep his arm at 90 degrees, it looked loose in the beginning. make a fist on his back, palm facing you and that should make sure you have it tight. make SURE when u run it you at least have a bar. the non-wing hand should hold that bar OR switch to holding his waist if you run it the way you did. watch after you run it... you leave that side way open and if he would've bridged/turned than you would've given up the reverse.
its good that u switch to half. since this is your 2nd year, work on finishing from the "side control". I hear someone advise you as "GET BIG" but it doesnt necessarily mean squeeze harder. get chest to chest (no homo), sprawl your legs, dont let your knees touch the ground, and try to force your chest on his. this'll naturally put your weight on him and make bridging and the pin alot harder. and head up, like try to look forward.
anyway, we haven't seen your takedown/down game so I hope you've developed that some. dont be afraid to set up and shoot. thats the basis of a great wrestler. good takedowns and abilitity to escape from down = top tier. watch the college guys, you'll never see a good college wrestler being "rode". (no homo)
cheers.
