I have a feeling people are going to bitch because the weapon selection is going to be limited.

I know that is how it is supposed to be in Aliens but people will bitch about it anyway.

I'ma laugh out loud when kids start popping up, saying this game is a copy of Halo.

Yeah, I actually can't wait for this shit. Last aliens games I played a lot was avp gold and avp2. The coop in this game sounds hot.

It's only fitting they make the game after the best movie of the entire franchise.:smokin:

will be amazing!

I like how's there no HUD, makes it feel more real and intense. If the atomsphere is anything like the AvP PC games, then I'll be scared shitless the entire time. Until you play AvP PC games as the Marine, you do not know true fear.

I was thinking the same when I first read about this game, brats need to learn their roots

I'm so hoping the ball doesn't get dropped with this game, it's been needing to happen for so long; Single player in AvP as the marine was worthy, but too stressful. I need some damn squadmates to watch my back.

i posted these screen way back in the 360 thread and noone seemed hyped at all i guess too busy talking about RROD. :arazz:

I'm so ready for this game, avp on pc as a marine was classic, no game since then has been able to create such tension. Everytime the tracker started beeping a little piece of me died.

Since it appears you play as a Marine the entire time, and you're fighting off Aliens the entire time, Aliens: CM better be just as good, if not 100x better, than the Marine campaign in AvP PC games.

I hope they do the multi good in this. Aliens vs marines in avp was always very fun. I remember losing interest in that game though after natural selection came out for half life. I was stuck on that game for a while. If you guys haven't played it yet you should check it out. It's a free halflife 1 mod.

They really need to reboot the Alien franchise. As much as I enjoy the AvP franchise on a basic, caveman level, I really want the Alien franchise to standalone and do well. Alien: Resurrection damn near killed it, but I believe James Cameron has expressed interest in doing another Alien film in the future...

He was, but said he was longer interested when they went forward with AvP.

Ugh. That's horrible news. Watch the next standalone Alien film to be directed by Uwe Boll...

Does he still direct? I miss the blockbusters like True Lies and The Abyss. Terminator 2 being my favorite movie of all time.

AvP2 was the shit! I remember me and my brother staying up playing multiplayer till all hours of the night. Being predator and fucking people up with his boomerang disk and fighting off predaliens and queens. Miss that game .

But the game looks hot though.

The screenshots seem to really capture the mood of the Aliens movie, which is good. Doom 3 atmosphere, but with less hallways and 10000x more awesome creatures.

He was, but said he was longer interested when they went forward with AvP.

That's only half the story.

On learning that Fox intended to pursue Alien vs. Predator, Cameron believed the film would "kill the validity of the franchise" and ceased work on his story, "To me, that was Frankenstein Meets Werewolf. It was Universal just taking their assets and starting to play them off against each other...Milking it." After viewing Alien vs. Predator, however, Cameron remarked that "it was actually pretty good. I think of the five Alien films, I'd rate it third. I actually liked it. I actually liked it a lot."

That I did not know....no mention of interest in expanding the franchise there but good to hear nonetheless.

Gorman is such a bitch.

"How many drops is this for you Lieutenant?"

"38...Simulated"

"How many combat drops?"

"Uh, 2, including this one."

I wish they wouldn't have offed Drake so soon... he seemed like a character that could've been more fleshed out.

I could have done with the movie being an extra hour just to have more time with the Marines. I think the right characters survived (except maybe Gorman) although I really have a soft spot for Drake, Frost, and Apone. The 45 minutes or so when they first wake up until they die is just movie gold :lovin:

Yeah, you really could sense a true camraderie between the marines. I liked that alot. And yeah, the right people lived (Vasquez was the badass-too many badasses in the final group would've been weird).

I'm getting a PS3 now.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Details

SEGA Europe Ltd. and SEGA of America, Inc. recently revealed details of the highly anticipated squad-based first-person shooter video game, Aliens: Colonial Marines. Licensed through an exclusive agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising and developed by Gearbox Software, the game will be available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Windows-based PC in late 2008.

In Aliens: Colonial Marines, players are part of a United States Colonial Marine squad and must prepare to face an alien assault more intense and horrific than ever before. Driven by a compelling and original story penned by renowned writers Bradley Thompson and David Weddle Aliens: Colonial Marines will retain the atmospheric look and feel of the original films while leveraging next-generation technology to create an entirely new interactive Aliens experience.

Packing classic Aliens weaponry ranging from pulse rifles to flamethrowers as well as brand-new equipment and skills all within a squad-based combat system, players will become an elite United States Colonial Marine. Featuring claustrophobic environments, a brooding soundtrack, and a multitude of surprises and shocks, players will battle against menacing alien hordes in strikingly detailed levels that include the stark interiors of the abandoned Sulaco and unique environments created specifically for the game.

Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature a story driven single-player mode and an all-new four player co-op mode allowing players to share the chilling experience with three friends. In co-op mode, each player will assume the persona of a Colonial Marine and have a distinct role to play in the completion of every mission. Additionally, more multiplayer modes will be revealed later in the year that will complete the Aliens video game experience.

Since its 1979 debut, Alien and its three sequels have grossed more than $557 million worldwide, garnering numerous awards, including two Academy Awards®.
