I felt like playing some older light gun shit. I was gonna hunt something down on ebay that would work with ps2 and ps1 games. I'm glad I did some research because it looks like those things aren't gonna work with an hdtv.
Anyone aware of one that does work? And is also wireless?
Also, do they make universal ones? (i.e. woudl also work with my saturn and dreamcast).

I think you can use the Saturn Lightguns via converter for Dreamcast.
Other than that, you have to get separate light guns for every other console out there.
And yes, none of them, with the exception of Guncon3, work on HDTVs.

Watch out though for all those old PS1 light guns, they're a real pain in the ass. Half of them used the old Guncon, while the other half used the Konami Justifier. You can order guns that play them all, but otherwise one won't play the other...:(

I remember the SuperScope for the SNES.. that was actually pretty decent.. big fuckin bazooka on your shoulder...
And I still have nightmares about the duck hunt dog... goddamn if only you could shoot that fucker =/
There really were never that many good games for any light gun that I can remember... Wild Gunman was decent for the original NES, but you were shooting paper targets pretty much instead of real mofos.. Woulda been nice to have a legit Terminator or RoboCop game that used the Light Gun, but alas I don't believe I ever came across one.. THere was T2 arcade that would have been PERFECT, but I don't remember any console that had it =(

That's the ps3 one, right? Will it work with ps1 and 2?

So what games are worth a purchase? I really enjoyed Vampire Night, and have been meaning to get Ninja Assault but haven't bothered with a purchase yet.
I'd like a shotgun, and a game like Doom to go with it. Perhaps with a full military gear and a chaingun you strapped around your shoulders and a holster for your gun, and a giant screen and surround sound. And a million dollars.
G-Con3 must be compatible with PS2 games, right?

Doesn't one of the later Resident Evil games for Wii use a light shotgun? I know there's a shitload of gun cradles for Wii for the shooting games.

That works on HDTVs, and is compatible with PS2, PS3, XBox, and PC.
The Wii has a good selection of gun games, ie. Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Target Terror, House of the Dead 2 & 3 Returns, Ghost Squad.

Guncon3 is not compatible with any other game than time crisis 4. And I've used my Guncon 2 before on old ps1 games and never had a problem.

GC3 is not backwards compatible, has something to do with it being based on sensors rather than being jacked into a crt video input, also Namco is really lazy and wants to make money again.

Nice. Is it safe to assume it'll work on the ps1 games too?
anyone know what was the name of that light gun versus arcade game

I gave up on the genre when I found out the two best ones ever aren't actually light-gun games.
I bought Time Crisis 2 and Point Blank a few years back, but I ended up returning them. The re-play isn't really there, imo. It's too bad any game this day in age that followed the Adventures of Bayou Billy format would be such a train-wreck.
