America's Best Dance Crew Live: On Tour

New thread for the new season. Could a mod please close the previous topic (http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=149197)?

So, like the previous season, the new one is starting with the live auditions (which, like the previous season, is not being advertised for some reason). The "casting special" or whatever its called will air this Saturday (June 7th), and narrow the number of crews down to 9 or however many they are doing this season. Also, following the casting special will be a special called, "Walk it Out" with Shane Sparks showing what the Jabbawockeez have been doing since they won last season.

There were a number of crews that you may have heard "made the auditions", but they were actually put into a pool of other crews that were picked to actually do the show. So don't be surprised if you don't see certain groups on there that you heard made the auditions. I know of one close friend whose crew is on there and I'm going to be asking you guys to vote for them if they make it past June 7th :-D.

This season should be pretty interesting, on the latest promo, they say, "New crews, new battles", so I wonder if the format of the show is changed at all (i.e. more actual head to head battles). I do know that J.C. is returning as a judge. More than likely, Lil Mama will be returning as well :-(

Anyways, I'm pretty excited for the new season.

The first season posted an average 2.5 rating among P12-34 and reached 86.8 million total viewers (P2+), in which 38.4 million are from the core P12-34. The season finale set a record for voting with more than 38 millions votes cast to determine which of the two crews would be crowned "America's Best Dance Crew." Total votes cast during the season were 50.3 million.



Shot on location in Los Angeles, the dance crews of five to seven members will battle it out on the stage floor for dance supremacy and a $100,000 cash prize. I beg to differ. Sickstep as a dance crew is pretty good, but some of the other crews this season are on another level... you'll see.

I actually thought that the decision between Fanny Pak and TM was really close. Team Millennia was sicccccck. Jun (the leader) from TM used to be in Culture Shock SD (I think he was the director). Fanny Pak didn't suck though. They have a terrible gimmick and their personalities are kinda... eccentric, but they didn't suck.

Super Crew did well, I hope they step up the choreo though, its too bboyish. Its good, but bboy toprock choreo gets repetitive. They're nasty though. Fun Fact, Mike Murda girlfriend (ex?) is Tara Reid.

Proud of my boy, Gesture, in Boogie Bots. He told me that they kind of had to change their dance... they made all of the groups put something from their region... that's why they had to do the "Wu-tang" in their dance. He says they have a lot more freedom for the next dances, so you'll see what they're really about.

I'm pretty happy with the decisions. Everyone knows the West Coast killed it though... I think they should have just taken the top ten altogether. Those cheerleaders (that say they aren't cheerleaders) should be the first to go.

On a side note, that Jabbawockeez special with Shane Sparks was hot garbage. That was like the Shane Sparks show, w/ Jabba so you'll actually watch it. You can see how not into it they were...

Most crews werent even close to that level and shouldn't need to be told that the bar was set after season 1.

We went down and made the live auditions, but there was so much bull that had happen while we were there i dont even want to get into it let just say BAD LUCK!!. Then they gave us a week to fill out a 35 page binding contract (which was totally different from last years Rainen explained to us) which i myself was afraid of we have too many things going on that we have been working on for a while that can get messed up we had like 3 lawyers talk to them and they didnt want to even budge i guess it was sponsorship issues. I really wish we could have done it but unfortunatly all the signs were telling us not to. Good luck to Super Crew i really hope they rip it peace...
