Launch, sj.RH, dash DF, j.LK, j.LK, land [j.LP, j.dLK, j.LP] repeat brackets.

It sucks compared to SJ infinite.

can anyone do the Japanese ROm infinite without the "SLIDE" and "THUMB" method.. those are so damn hard to use because thier arkward.. so im tryin to learn it freehand "NORMAL"

OK, here's my question, what is the best way to keep an extremly good mag that rushes down like a bitch?

I mean, should I use a good aa or just run like a bitch and hit his start button hoping that he won't catch me in the inf.?

you know my team, and don't say ironmans standing roundhouse will own mag, because mag already has a normal that will beat it.:bluu:

Yeah...you stop the combo meter and the opponent has recovered and can throw you as much as you can throw them...which is why most throw combos end up in tech hits.

Think of it like this...is it even possible to hit Short after dashing that fast without either sliding your index finger or pressing your thumb immediately after?

I read all the Magneto threads, and still can't find where, or how to do the sj. inf. I know it's something like sj.lk,lk, d.df,lk,lk,land, repeat? Is that right or am I'm missing something? Also, how do you do the slide inf? I'm probably blind, but if someone doesn't mind posting these inf. with a concise explanation, I wouldn't mind. Thanks. :D

They are probably posted, but here you go man I hope this help.

The super jump infinite goes sj.lk lk a/d d/f d/lk lk if you do not hold down they pop up to high to continue the infinite so make sure toy hold down. Another thing is use you thumb to hit lk cause you have to cancel the airdash with the lk. So just as you dash you hit the lk a split sec later.

Slide infinite. Prolly mags hardest infinite to do consistantly.

they way to set it up is to use a throw combo dash over c.lk c. hk slide no when they bounce of the hk slide pause for a split sec then manual super jump (down up) then dash staight down but again cacel the dash with a lk so mags will land faste. After you cancel the dash you will land the sec you land hit lk hk again. Repeat.

these infinite wont happen the first time you try not until your hands build muscle memory and then you justdo them with out thinkin about it.

There are about 3 Magneto infinites virtually no one knows about. A couple of them are semi-infinites, but they can go up to 34 hits. The other one, is an infinite. Also, Magneto is a reset-based charcter. His infinites aren't that useful. The only reason I use it for, is to get the opponent to the corner. Mag's infinites build ALOT of meter for the opponent. Use the infinite for useful things. You can always mix up infinites with a cross-up, or a reset combo. Otherwise, all of Magneto's infinites are as good as useless. His slide infinite, is easy once you get the pattern down. You just have to whiff the short. His hardest infinite, I don't even want to get into. Oh, and about Mag/Tron. Someone bring a camcorder to SHGL for the tourny this Saturday. I'll see what I can do :)

Soo is right mags infinites are only really need to be done if you are intending to deal some pain. Throws are very useful since you can throw out of the sj.lk lk infinite and that infinite sets up alot of good cross ups and resest. Just listen to what soo said he is hella bomb with magnus. (sucking up to soo)

god, i can only imagine how sick some of your mag/tron stuff will be. somebody has got to tape that. if not, PM me with some of it if you wouldn't mind:D

hey picolo, which resets do you use the most/which are the most useful? because i have trouble doing the sj infinite, so if i can just get awesome resets and other combos, then it'll end up working out better, although i know i can't get predictable or anything.

magneto/psy vs sent/cc... i eat FPs from Sent like he is sagat... and CC don't help. I know... infinite him to corner if i land a hit... usually... i don't lol... cuz one sj LK from sent = 70% life gone... plus i am in corner. Help me.

Also... is Sent/Storm/CC the best team in MvC2? cuz it seems like thats all everyone plays now.

Hey potter, whats the mag inf in the advanced tactics video? It looks similar to the sj.lk, lk, dash df, lk, lk, etc inf but it looks a little different, like they added a lp or something.

cable/capcom: wen ever they superjump they are open, when ever after he brings out capcom the assist he's mad open, and wen ever he's in the corner or newhere... if ur fast enuff u can rushdown and hit him b4 he can bring out capcom... or hit capcom b4 he can punch :eek: :eek: :eek:

after psy assist, if you time the c.lk properly, it juggles. unrollable. slide infinite can't be rolled unless the person doin the infinite screws up. i dunno about that im thing, dunno what you're talkin about sorry

Mag/Tron Combo..

dash in c.lk (call tron) c.lk (tron hits) dash in c.lk launch and do whatever you want. The timing is a bit hard at the front but it's good damage prior to regular stuff.

Mag/CapCom Combo

dash in c.lk c.fk (call CapCom AAA) hyper grab do whatever. High damage.

after the lk mk Air dash the d.lk comes IMMEDIATELY after the dash. I cant stress that more.
U gotta be in control and slow down after it tho or you'll hit buttons to fast and spaz.
Its not hard after awhile.
DC i can get 40 hits and arcade like 25 :)

OTG infinite. . .
No one bother with it unless your pro :)

Can someone please help me with these infinites

Regular jump infinite- I do j.lp,j.d+lk,j.lp and the guy is still too high for me to jump back after him and if i add another j.lk, he goes even higher, if i try to do it slowly to give the guy time to fall down a bit, it won't connect

Super jump infinite- Again, after i super jump to do it, sj.lk,sj.lk, air dash DF, sj.lk, sj.lk, land, when i jump back after him for the second rep, he's still too high, and if i try to slow it down a bit, i can't get it to connect

Is my combination of attacks wrong or something?

Ok well ur problem is most likely that ur not doing the jumping or super jumping down lk if u do the neutral lk do the down lk.

ok lets say your magneto and cable does a j hp viper beam but you quickly sj and airdash over during the vb. what is the best (most damaging way to punish him) with and without psylocke? It seems like all i do is kick him in the face, he falls down and i can't rush anymore (dash in triangle jump etc) because he has instant aaa (like ken) after that.

Also if you get a sj throw, what's the best thing to do after that. i know if you do fierce throw in corner you can do all sorts of combos. but what about sj hk throw? should you aim down or straight if its in mid screen?

You can hit Cable while he is in the air with a j.jab then land and launch him and it will combo. I remember seeing this is those Ricky vs Justin Wong matches from ECC6.

yeah, it does. I remember on those ECC7 vids, most of the Seattle peeps could do it. I can do it too, but not consistly. Don't try to cancel tempest so quickly, wait for a split second, as soon as your oponent starts mashing out, cancel it into time flip. The timing is tricky though. I still can't do it 100% of the time.

sj. and air dash strait...but wen u a.d don't do it at the peak do it b4...i think that cable's roundhouse will beat it out...or u can sj. a/d strait...grab ...or u can wait till he lands and rushdown...or if he has an anit-air...dash forward and block...he'll bring out his assistand then it's clear to rushdown

umm... if i were cable and i brought out my anit-air it would be to bait u so i can ahvb so after he brings out anit-air rushdown...but it u don't hit then stop cause he;ll brong anti-air...try to stay above cable...so don't try to hit the assist unless it's almost dead or cable has no meter...in the case u can...launch XX shockwave...or jump call psylocke shockwave

Timing on the reset cross-up launcher is abit tricky, because if you don't do it right, you'll end up either, A. Combo it, which is alright, but you won't get big damage. B. You'll screw up, and your opponent blocks it. I get it down most of the time, but it's still crazy mad hard for me.




EASY WAY TO DO ROM INFINITE

Man you people take forever to learn this...

Alright, position your thumb finger on your lk, index finger on your lp, middle finger on your fierce, and your ring finger on your rh. This takes tricky timing, now setup the infinite, and now here is where it gets pretty easy. Once you get to the part where you sj. lk, lk, delay it for just a little, then dash down, and immediatly lk, lk again. It takes a little practice, but once your hands get used to it, the infinite is a snap.



Stratagies

Magnus vs Team Scrub

I always pick MSP against Team Scrub, a.k.a Cable/Whatever/Capcomm, which gives me pretty much a homefield advantage.

First thing you should do in the match is RUNAWAY from Cable. Yes run your ass away from cable, sj up, and build the meter by throwing a couple fierces . Now when you see the assist arrow pop out, immediatly ad/f, and you should have avoided Capcomm. Now you probbaly have 2 meters by now. Go in, lk twice, call Psy, tri-jump, and rush him down. When you think he's going to call Capcomm, sj. up, then ad/f. You'll always avoid Capcomm if you time it right. As long as you don't have him in the corner, you probbaly won't get hit. Also if he's so scared of you that he just doesn't want to throw out anything, wavedash, lk, delay, rh throw, juggle with lk, psy, hypergrab xx tempest.


MSP vs Sent/Storm/Capcomm (A.K.A Take a frying pan to your ass then cook it team)

Tough match. Always, ALWAYS avoid getting hit by Sent's launcher. Pace the match around by square jumping (ie sj., ad/f), and then tri-jump in with lk. Why? You get a free infinite on Sent if he's on the ground. Sj.lk, sj.lk, ad/df, sj.lk, sj.lk, rh, hyper grab can lead to big damage. Call out Storm from FS and then rush in, so that if Capcomm comes out, he'll get hit by Storm. When Sent is in the air, wavedash around for abit to avoid his stomps, and if he calls Capcomm, sj., tempest, and DHC into Hailstorm. If you think the Sent player doesn't unfly very well, sj. and follow him, then hyper grab xx tempest.



After killing your opponent's first charcter, ALWAYS, go for a gaurdbreak. Let's say you kill Storm, and Sent comes in, stay near where Sent is going to come out, then sj.lp, lk, ad/f, delay, lp, lk, delay, lp, fierce grab. As long as he doesn't gaurd cancels, your ok.



Oh forgot this combo on Sent only.

sj.lk, sj.lk, ad/df, sj.lk, sj.lk, land, fierce, shockwave, wavedash, j.lp, j.lk, j.lp, j.lk, land, repeat j. part. Tricky ass timing, but it's possible. Should be in the Team Seattle Video.

Beginners Guide to become an Expert with Magnus!


First thing you should know that is your worst enemy is, *laughs, A double mirror Magnus match! It get's so hectic in there you don't know who is who. Alright, here some basic shit that you should learn first.



Magnus is a corner monster. Trap your opponent in the corner, setup with a easy to do cr.lk, sj.rh, ad/df, delay, rh throw. Now what are the possibilities here? If you have Psy you can go for big damage. After the RH throw, you can lk, call Psy, lk, hyper grab right before you hit the ground. Free air combo again! cr.fierce, and AC into whatever you want.


Magnus is the master of wavedashing, ticking with a lk or lp, then grabing them with a fierce throw. If your opponent loves the ground too much, and doesn't call assists to often, do this, and you get a free combo.


Basic Magnus Combos

1.cr.fierce, sj.lp, sj.lk, sj.lp, sj.lk, hyper grab, tempest.

Easy to do.... get's the job done.. but can be mashed out of.

2.cr.fierce, sj.rh. ad/df, lk, lk, land, fierce, AC into combo 1.

Blagh, basic setup for almost every combo for beginners.... just not enough damage still...

3.cr.fierce, sj.rh, ad/df, lk, lk, land, sj.lk, sj.lk, ad/f, lp, whiff lk, land, dash, cancel dash with a cross up cr.fierce.

Woo, tricky timing, but it will reset if you do it correctly. Very very hard for a beginner, but it's possible.

4.tri-jump rh, standing rh, hyper grab, cr.fierce, (leads to combos 1, 2, and 3.)

Now isn't this nice? A combo that leads to a combo!!! Very nice...

I can usually get a lucky hit then reset, crazy damage combo, then reset again, but that's only if I get extra lucky. You got any tips on fighting mirror matches Potter? :lol:

Question: What do you tri. jump with? I usually use lk b/c the c.lk follow up is hella hard to block if ur quick.....i dont like fk b/c i find the hit box is a bit strange (just me?)...i whiff it about 1/2 the time (embarassing)...although depending on where I am I'll sometimes use Fp (mad priority)..i was jus wonderin what you peeps use.....

If your order somehow ends up Mag/Sent/Storm (if you're using that team), it's useful to DHC into Hailstorm...same works Mag/Sent/IM

First of all, I'm not the guy that suggested doing this to DHC into sent anyway. My response was based on this specific situation, and IS better than your "lets keep 'em locked dowwnn!! ;)" strategy.

Second of all, Like I said, if you relearned how to play MvC2 you'd learn that some supers do more damage when you "mash" them. This means you quickly move your hand/fingers across all the buttons over and over throughout the duration of the super. That's right. MASH.

Umm duh the reason it connects its because ironmans AAA has knockdown properties so they fall right into the hypergrab. And all those style points can and mostly will get u killed in a real match id rather just go for the kill.

She's doesn't have any Psylocke-like combos...she's more to add damage than anything else.

The two common combos with her are:

Launch, sj.RH, dash DF, j.LK, j.LK, land, s.RH+Cammy, Hyper Grav, s.RH, Hyper Grav, follow up with launch or sj infinite

You can use cammy's aa to add damage to beginning of a combo, before going into an infinite.. clk, chp + cammy, time it right so that you knock them down right after they get hit by cammy(so they dont fly up). then go into whatever.

BTW, mag is ass, CAMMY/MAG isn't what you want, because all cammy does is get them off of you, which is the opposite of rushdown. Throwing into cammy is good with everyone though ^_^

Mag/Psy or Mag/tron are the ideal assists.
