BE VIP SRK Team was beasting with 4 wins until we encountered a team that had a crazy amount of eagles and dobermans in a TDM in Ambush Alley. Wasn't a good round for us. :(

Anyways, good games to everyone and sorry that I split during the second half.

Props go out to Covert Entity (clan) who has 23-0 streaked in survival with me the last couple nights. Hopefully, we'll get random matched up against SRK/VIP one day.

GGs Kyored, solidfox, J-nav, Sonic kun, and of course our most prestegious leader VEGETTO !!!! And Cornelia too!

Keep that mic talk up man, I wouldve been talking but it stopped working. It helps A LOT !! That and SOP!!

We had way more wins than losses, and our losses were either stupid mistakes or very close matches.

Had loads of fun, I'll post some pics up tomorrow. Thanks!

BOOTY BUTTCHEEKS! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnHVYhPKW84)

Great games everyone. Once again, I had lots of fun. I don't think I'll ever like vista.

Whoever asked, Narc 3 works as an opposite of Mono. When you are targeted by the enemy, they show up on SOP, along with their target line. The best use of Narc 3 is in team sneaking. Run in circles, or in a box, while the stealth enemies try to shoot you as they show up in SOP. :badboy:

My communication through mic kind of died off at the end. It felt awkward being the only one with a mic. It also didn't help that chaffs were being used a lot or I was dead in team sneak.

I noticed that when we were sneaking in team sneak that you guys would leave tranq'd bodies alone. You should always pick up their bodies when the coast is clear to pick up there weapon and use it against their teammates. Not like it mattered though since we did beat the two teams we went against.

GG's to Solidfox and Kombo you guys are too beastly and I don't know how you guys can pull such high kills with such low deaths. I need to find a way to up my skills or something because my stats are starting to blow now.

I'd much rather play it safe and go 5-0 than run n gun and go 50-40. To each their own haha. Hope we play again soon.

Honestly dude I spent hours in the beta learning the game. Plus I got 35 emblems out of 40 offline. So I know the engine well. To be honest I am good at fighting games or SF in particular. I only do well because SRK Clan backs my ass up. You guys deserve the praise not me.:woot:

Is there a way to change a character voice?

Once you finalized your character you can't change any of the major details without deleting the character and creating a new one. It's pretty BS if you ask me since you should be able to customize the look of your character any time you want.

Yep, I've done it once before with my male character.

Well, I finally got on the lobby but it looks like the BE VIP team is not there anymore and SRK BE VIP must be beasting as usual. Ending up joining a random team and we got owned harsh the 1st round to Outer Haven. Hodge podge teams just can't do anything right.

07-27-2008, 11:24 PM
We faced a tough clan today. So I decided to brush u up on the elite players and clans in MGO to give u an idea of things. First I am going to talk about players and clans. WITH SCREENS INCLUDED.:woot:

This is the clan that gave us so much trouble. Beautiful Agony. They have mad skills and most of their clan are dobermans with one fox. All players were previous MGO 1 (PS2) Vets. I talked to their leader after the survival matches and he said they got good because of their experience in MGO1. Their clan has only a few members but all are elite. :amazed:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00222.jpg

This guy doesn't even have alot of kills or time but look he got foxhound rank. Thats how you know MGO1 skills transfer. I will explain the significance of this rank later. (BTW I was raped by these guys in the open BETA)
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00223.jpg

The next clan is Covert Dynamics. This clan is to be truly feared. Not only do they have alot of members. They have foxhound ranked members and their lowest ranking member maybe doberman.
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00227.jpg

Their clan leaders name is Itachi Uchiha yes named after the naruto character. He is ranked 6th in TDM and has the highest rank which is Foxhound. Look at his insane kill ratio.:looney:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00228.jpg

The next clan is the most controversial clan in all of MGO. The red berets. Named after young ocelots red beret. They are maybe the most hated clan in MGO. Their have been numerous claims the clan is not good because they fill rooms with their members and take out newbs. One claim is one on one they are not good. This clan was the number one clan in the original MGO and is going to be the number 1 in this. Now on to the leader who is controversial himself..........:arazz:

BEOWULF: He was NUMBER ONE IN MGO1 AND HAS NOW BEATEN AIRSNIPER TO BE NUMBER ONE AGAIN IN MGO2!!!!!!:arazz:
Yes he has skills here is a match of him vs another top player in MGO1.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05mkh255aMQ

Some say his secret is he can dodge and shoot with no hesitation and with extreme accuracy. To dodge aim first person and use the left and right dpad. So anyway his skills 100% transfer to this MGO. He is hated especially in MGO2 because he team stacks and is considered not a pro. Here is his insane stats anyway. And yes he has foxhound rank. :arazz:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00231.jpg

THE BIGGEST REASON HE AND HIS CLAN ARE HATED IS BECAUSE PEOPLE CLAIM HE PULLS OUT THE ETHERNET CORD WHEN HIS TEAM LOSSES SO IT IS NOT RECORDED. HERE IS PROOF. WHAT A CHEAP A**.........:arazz:
http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=942282&topic=44503583
But he is still mad good cause of being 1 in MGO and MGO2.

Here are the top clans right now for survival rewards. If u notice #5 Ultima Weapon raped us on saturday. And YES Gru clan has mad skills.
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00226.jpg

I'm now ranked 62 in TDM:woot:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00225.jpg

Yes shyde the number 23 player in TDM asked me to join his clan a while back even though he knew I was with SRK. But I rejected because I am loyal to you guys.:3p:

He claims he's a member of the forums....I wonder if he only visits or he is an SRK regular.
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00236.jpg

This is where I rejected. I love SRK too much, loyalty to my unit like big boss.:woot:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00237.jpg

We are now ranked 12 in rewards from survival GET MONEY!:woot:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00229.jpg

I will break down the online ranks for you:

Eagle Headshot Master Perform Headshots(?)
Rat Often Gets Stuck in Traps Get Caught in Traps(?)
Jaws Knife Master Use Knife a lot(?)
Sloth Highly Susceptible to Headshots Get Shot in Head(?)
Bear Bare Hand/CQC Master Give 2x more CQC Attacks
for all CQC Attacks taken
Bee Scanning Master Perform S.Plug Scans(?)
Crocodile Player With the Highest Kill Good Kill/Death Ratio(?)
and Stun Count
Pigeon Prefers Not to Kill Non-Lethal Attacks(?)
Tortoise Often Uses Cardboard Box Use Cardboard Box(?)
Flying Squirrel High Number of Rolls Do 10,000 Rolls Total
Kerotan Prefers Capture Rules Play Capture a lot(?)
Snake Prefers Sneaking Rules Play Sneaking a lot(?)
Water Bear High Survival Rate Survive a lot(?)
Night Owl Often Wears ENVG Wear ENVG Often(?)
Tsuchinoko Rarely Plays Don't Play Often(?)
Hound A Superior Solider (?)
Fox The Best of the Best (?)
Foxhound A Living Legend (?)

If you notice Hound Fox and Foxhound are the highest ranks and no one knows how to get them. The theory is your kill death ratio is averaged with the percentage of wins. Thats why only top players have them because they are so hard to get. Long story short the number 2 player in TDM does not have it cause even though he has mad kills his wins and ratio are not good enough. Fear people with these emblems and move strategically.

This guy use to be no 1 in TDM until Beowulf beat him because beowulf had a better kill ratio. But this guy is still insane. Some don't like him cause he has already clocked close to 500 hrs and beowulf dissed him on his youtube comments saying he had no life due to the mad hrs he put into the game. He is not that good I have beaten him in the beta but I still think he has a great record.
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q469/OAG3K/IMG00232.jpg

The point of all this bs is to show you that you can get an edge over your enemy by not being cocky or rushing. Understand most of the top players in MGO are vets in previous MGO games. So they have years of experience. So learn the game and be cautious. Those fox and hound ranks are soo hard to get. Anyone who does is probably good. We need to become better. We're SRK we CAN DO IT.:woot:

Nice screens and nice information to know.

Hmm...perhaps we should post tips/techniques for anything and everything. Anything to up my game would be appreciated. Quite frankly, I always seem to lose out against far distance attacks. I don't know how my opponent is able to land the headshot so quickly from such a far distance with the same weapon as me (M4). I've tried using FPV to line up the headshot but it seems too slow and having the gun lose aim after a few shots makes lining up the next shot even more difficult. I barely use FPV and stick to over-the-shoulder view but I can't line up those headshots from far distances. Guess I should get my ass to the virtual range but it doesn't feel the same when I get into MGO. I need to stop running around in the open like an idiot and should bide my time some more but I hate losing out on the action.

Personally, I think my specialty is Team Sneaking and Rescue Missions. I can take my time with those missions since you only get 1 life and it's a better test of skill, imo.

I played MGO1 back in the day but not that often. I was known as Killey in MGO1 and played when it first came out. Back when it first came out FPV wasn't used as much and everyone would run and gun with auto lock-on. I would get top spot a lot back then but after taking a huge break from the game and then coming back to it everyone got better and started using FPV tricks for quick headshots and I couldn't compete anymore.

Titles still seem weird to me. I mainly play TDM, and have had Eagle since launch week. Yesterday I play one ROUND of normal Deathmatch, win, and I receive the Doberman rank. We win a Base mission during Survival tonight and I get Hound. Later on in the evening I was showing my friend the ropes in Team Sneaking, our team got slaughtered for a few rounds and my title defaulted back to Eagle.

Odd.

DS

I've played a few games against Itachi Uchiha and he's not all that great to be honest. And again, stats don't mean shit. You're only as good as your last win. Now Beowulf? That fucker is dangerous. I remember him from the MGO1 days.

Vegett0
07-28-2008, 04:05 AM
Honestly, stats and ranks don't mean much to me. People like to stack teams, boost, standby, etc... to get their stats and player level up. People have already figured out the general requirements for the high ranks. So they do anything to get that foxhound and keep it. I see members on other forums actually arrange to get these ranks. You can spot the fakes by looking at their medal history.

I remember I was beating down a foxhound pretty bad, so I put him on my friends list to check his stats. He had 10 consecutive TDM survivals and 20 consecutive headshots. Yet, here he was, getting killed like any other player. He wasn't even playing smart. He also quit in the middle of the match when his team started losing badly.

In the end, don't get too worked up over those ranks. You can only really find out how good someone is from actual in-game experience.

Alright, enough of that. I really hope that they're working on getting the reward shop up ASAP. I saw a pic of the shop and it was such a huge tease.

Also, I'm beginning to feel neutral towards V.V now. My anger is being redirected to the AK now. It's just very unreliable to me. Even with AR3, it sprays and recoils like crazy.

AHAHAHAHAAH Beowulf ??

Man, I was playing in a Attack/Defend game and he was in the game at the top of the red team.. so I join the blue team and start getting some direction going.. it was like 5 matches of this thing and we won all 5 matches cause I took that mother fucker out as fast as I could and he left after that cause I ranked higher than him at the end. And yes, I'm certain its the Beowulf who is ranked #1. Oh yeah and he was the damn host and he set it so that his team will always defend.. it wouldnt switch so he could attack! Bastard.

A little teamwork will get you a long way! lol

Guys I'll post pics up of last night soon, GGs for sure!!!! GET MONEY!

Canto

^ You're already good so you don't gotta worry too much lolol.

Okay lets talk strategy.

1) ALWAYS SOP !!! Sometimes we forget but its okay, but its essential that we know where our team members are and wtf is happening with them.
2) During TDM games I suggest that we partner up. With a partner you can rush down a single person and take him out way more easily so that instead of the opponent aiming at one guy he has to take down two, and if one person dies your partner can take him out without a problem. Partnering up also always you to watch your back so if anyone is trying to sneak behind you.
3) USE YOUR MIC!!! If not, use those codecs damnit! I use them regularly and will come to assistance if needed. BTW you can change your codec messages in gameplay options so put stuff on that will be useful and memorize them.
4) In TDM do not RUSH INTO THEIR BASE!!!! I've seen this a lot and its suicide. Sure you can spawn kill but its really easy for them to kill you if you're in their base.

Game and Level Specific:

TDM:

G.G.: Get the hanger. All we have to do is grab that hanger, have 1 person at each entrance of the hanger and watch those dumb souls try to take it back! We can cover every spot flawlessly. If the other team is defending the hanger DONT RUSH IN LIKE A FOOL! Wait it out and let them come out to us. Use codecs when you see an enemy trying to get in and someone else can give you cover fire.

M.M.: I found this amazing camping spot that gives a wide view of the level and is very hard to attack at. I will post a pic. This level is a little tough cause its so narrow.. I suggest 1 sniper on the roof while 5 others staying together assualting the enemy. Try to lead them out to where the sniper can shoot at them.

V.V.: This one is hard.. its a snipers paradise for our team or the assaulting team. First strategy I would say to have 2 snipers while the other 4 are down in the valley trying to lure opponents out into the open so the snipers can take a pop. If they have snipers and are killing us quickly I say that we go to the upper area and defend that spot. That way snipers cant get us and we'll have almost every area covered so we can take them out if they try to assault us. Dont rush out to them, let them come to us and suprise them. Every once in a while hide in a box and jump out on them.

T.T: Buddy up and let them come out at us then pop out and shoot the living hell out of them. Lots of great hiding spots.

A.A: Tough.. guys give me insight on this one.

TSNE/Attack and Defend:

Defence: We mostly got this one covered. Vegetto runs out into the open so NARC kicks in, he kicks ass. I suggest one other player going out and staying behind Vegetto (but out of sight) and backing him up. Others stay in or close to base while staying in boxes/using mags and codecs when you see and enemy. One little trick that I do for the darker stages is I equip the handgun and take a shot every once in a while and its actually found a couple people haha.

Atack: For TSNE attacking I have 2 ideas. First idea is to have one person rushing like crazy into their base while the 5 others come in through a different hallway and back him up. The baddies will be trying to take the rusher down while we will be behind them putting them to sleep/knife killing. Second idea is to not go for the Kreotan at all! Just hide, use E locaters and take our time taking the other team out. Vegetto and SniperWolf are KING at this mode so lets back them up as much as possible. Remember if you get someone asleep you can pick them up to take their guns. You only got 30 bullets but it should be enough to take down 1 or 2 baddies.

Capture:

This one is tough, anyone give insight on this one.

Base:

1 person should always be off on their own. Why? Cause they can get basses really sneaky. We have won around 3 or 4 really close base missions because I get away from the team and go for a far away base while our team is distracting the enemy, and before they can re-capture the base the time runs out haha. Other than that, pair up because the base will be captured much faster when theirs more than one person on it. Let us know through codec/mic when you need help on a base. Watch for grenades! When you see one run out of the base real quick then jump back on it. And oh yeah, when and enemy is capturing a base and you kill them go onto the base and just stand there for a second so the enemies capture counter will reset.

Thats the most I can think up of right now. Vegetto and TruPatriot are all around good players, solidfox and I are good assualt and base guys, Kombo is a good rusher and sniper/crazy mofo, and Sniperwolf is good at sniping and sneaking. Overall we make a great team and I'm glad to be playing with you guys. Lets keep kicking ASS!|! :woot:

Im so rich I'm crying !!! :crybaby:

All we have to do is grab that hanger, have 1 person at each entrance of the hander and watch those dumb souls try to take it back! We can cover every spot flawlessly. If the other team is defending the hanger DONT RUSH IN LIKE A FOOL! Wait it out and let them come out to us.

If they have snipers and are killing us quickly I say that we go to the upper area and defend the spot. That way snipers cant get us and we'll have almost every area covered so we can take them out if they try to assault us.

Just hide, use E locaters and take our time. Vegetto and SniperWolf are KING at this mode so lets back them up as much as possible.

Capture:

This one is tough, anyone give insight on this one.

Base:

1 person should always be off on their own. Why? Cause they get basses really sneaky.

:woot:

GREAT TIPS DUDE. BTW IF YOU USE THE CODEC AND CHOOSE THE QUOTE OF ENEMY SPOTTED OR WE HAVE COMPANY WHILE AIMING IN 1ST PERSON VIEW AT THE ENEMY ALL TEAM MEMBERS WILL SEE WHERE YOUR POINTING TO WITH AN !.

beowulf IS back!! THAT PUNK ASS!
i remember when he and i use to do 2v2 me and TIGER! he got there by cheeting in stanby!! THOSE WHOO KNOE MGO1 WILL REMEMBER PEOPLE STANBYIN AND THEN BEIN INVINCABLE!

did anyone else play mgo1 in ps2?
I only played like 2 times because my net was real bad back then. If I had played back then I am sure I would be a beast now. Also I am told beowulf even though he has skill he was a cheat as well.

I feel outclassed too, don't worry we'll learn this game together.:woot:
BTW I said this before but it's soo useful, press the left and right dpad directions while in 1st person view to dodge. Also if someone has a feeling your on the other side of the wall, lie on your belly or back and when they come aim for a head shot. The won't expect you to be on the ground and it will take time for them to re-aim. This is your key to headshot them first. Be more stealthy and move slowly. Also learn all the maps and games. These are some of the basics.

Odd.

Honestly I give you props for even receiving these titles. They are too hard for me. Whats funny is I had eagle but lost it eventhough 90 percent of my kills are head shots and I have more kills then deaths.

I've played a few games against Itachi Uchiha and he's not all that great to be honest. And again, stats don't mean shit. You're only as good as your last win. Now Beowulf? That fucker is dangerous. I remember him from the MGO1 days.

Well play him in DM, I did in the beta and thats some serious shit. The amount of kills he racked up was out of this world.:looney:

Your right people like Beowulf especially team stack but I would say at least 50% of people who have foxhound must have skill so I don't underestimate them. The AK to me is shit and I wish when you start a match with DP you can buy the M4. BTW the beautiful agony clan beasted us with AK's so I need to know what people are doing to get head shots so well with AK's its a mystery.

GET MONEY!

I'm also going to talk a little about some strategy ideas we could use.
GET MONEY! Great looking forward to pics. BTW Beowulf is crap in other modes but TDM and the old MGO DM he is a beast.

I'm all ears. I'm practicing to get better.
Thanks for the open mindedness, I need to learn more about FPV headshots but once I do I will post tips.

Honestly when I was playing beautiful agony it was like they can shoot through walls. Are they hacking or is the collision detection in this game that bad? Anyway we need to get better. I am still proud of are 2 times 5 streak yesterday. Good work and keep it up.

BTW does anyone know who this shyde member is?

LETS PLAY NAME THIS MAP! ALOT OF THESE MAPS I NOTICED WERE RE-DESIGNED FOR MGO2 CHECK OUT THE CLASSICS!

Yeah that can be done for sure. There are a lot of SRKers in Survival. We need to figure out team one and two. Will do by next week.

EDIT: For the higher ranks your win loss ratio is more important then kill ratio. I will never get the higher ranks because I have more losses due to me having sympathy for weaker teams.:shake: Oh well I will continue to play the game the way I want to regardless of rank.

the teams were 6v5 n those guys still did GREAT!! we won...but we I personally had to push myself n squeeze evry bit of energy to b able to fight em.

GGS to those guys n i hope to fight n learna few things from u guys!

Andregarding about the emblems...i rlly dnt care bout emblems lol i would luv to have a hound, doberman or F.H as an emblem. But it rlly dsnt scare me. We did face a team dat had a few F.H's in it n we still owned cuz of our teamwork!! sucks dat we lost communication tho...i was rlly mad bout it cuz sumthin KEY to the game jus dissapeared...

He was talking shit to me because I let him die. He was knife stunned & I was grenaded next to him. I ran to get away from enemy fire, as I had little health left, & ran to recover a base. He then wanted to kick me out, but I was always in the top 3, so the other players wanted me in. He's a pro, he can handle himself lol.
I rank 202 in Base.

Anyways, I got off work late last night so I barely made it with 2 hours of Survival matches. Lucked out too, with it being full.

For Midtown Maelstrom, 3rd floor camping is probably your best bet when you're splitting up(this adds to Canto's strat, even though mines has proven solid and would-be snipers get killed on the 3rd floor by magazine trap or just a simple walk-up head shot). CapeNocturmXIII knows about that 3rd floor, too.

I'm a foxhound with 4 consecutive TDM survivals, 20 consecutive kills and 10 consecutive headshots. I'm not saying all foxhounds are good or earned the rank but you can't always expect them to be uber elite. For example, I've been raising my knife skill this past week for the first time since playing. So, I'm basically a knife noob. My k/d has still been very high but some games I get owned by doods who have been cqc'ing only since day 1 and they'll talk trash just because of my rank. Especially survival matches where the time limit is just 5 minutes and it forces you to take the initiative (why its so great). My point is for the people who have the rank and not stat padded (like 10 consecutive matches without a scratch), they've earned it.

Yeah 3rd floor was my fave in the beta. Most people don't know I was a sniping camper in the beta and thats how I got to 39 in TDM in the beta. I changed when the game came out cause I felt assault was more of my style.

Could anyone with a Bluetooth headset mind telling me how it works for the ps3 before I commit to buying one. Simple enough to get the ps3 to register it and how responsive is it during the game? Also, does it transmit everything you say or do you hold a particular button down before transmitting. I've never used one before so these questions are pretty nubish but I'd like some info on it since I'm considering picking one up today or tomorrow. I'm looking for a response to this in the next 1.5 hours since I'll be done work soon and will probably swing by a store to check one out.

Hope to get in some good games! ;o

^ Pretty much youre going to get decent quality. It may hurt your ear after an hour or so, make sure you get one thats comfortable, but you'll never really know unless you take it home and try it out for an hour or so lol.

Very easy to get it hooked up with the PS3. Very responsive. Hold button? Nope. In MGO just hold select and the mic will be on, and when it recognizes when youre speaking it will automatically turn on and everyone will hear you.

I'll put my contributions in regarding Team Sneak and Capture Missions. Personally, I'm the type who likes to get the Gako and Kerotan rather then tranquing/killing the enemy, however, having members who can do a combination of the two makes for a deadly combination as it always keeps the enemy guessing. If we just focus on taking them out then they won't bother guarding the kerotan but if we mix things up all the time then we'll put them on the ropes. I'm not so good at tranqing people so my 2 cents will be on strategies to capturing the kerotan/gako for a variety of stages. I have a pretty high successful rate in grabbing the kerotan/gako but that also depends on how competent my team members are.

General Tips/Information:

A lot of this is generic information that I'm assuming everyone knows but it's best to cover the basics first and make sure everyone is aware.

Just like any other mode co-ordination with your team is important but I think in these two modes they are extremely important. Relaying enemy positions to your team is valuable for both offense/defense but also letting your team know where you are is also good. Nothing is more annoying then when you are in position to grab the gako/kerotan only to have your position exposed because a teammate rushed things and compromises everyone.

If you are sneaking then don't move too quickly in any of the positions if an enemy is nearby. You will kick up a lot of dust making you easy to spot even in the shadows. Obviously, hiding in the sunlight is a bad idea because your shadwos will be visible. In a neutral state the only thing visible is your stun knife. Please note that there is no difference between having nothing equipped and having the stun knife equipped in terms of what's visible on your character. However, if you are equipped with any other weapon that weapon is clearly visible. Even in the shadows the weapon is pretty visible. So if you are not taking any shots then I recommend you equip the stun knife to keep yourself hidden.

Keep in mind that at any time while you have the Gako/Kerotan you can purposely drop it. You might want to consider this option when you know that you have no chance of making it to your base alive. Ditch the Gako/Kerotan hide and then try to take out the enemy when they rush to the location or you can wait and hope they pass by and then grab the target again.

The NARC skill is the most valuable skill on the hunting side because you can expose sneakers easily. However, keep in mind that the opposing team may do the same to you so exercise caution when trying to tranq enemies down. Be mindful of enemy movements if it looks like they are circling around and running around like idiots they may be doing it for a reason so don't take the bait.

Sneaking Side:

If you tranq an enemy and stand over his body you will be prompted to press triangle to pick up the body. Don't confuse this with crouching over the enemy because that will just pat him awake. You need to be standing over his body to pick him up. Picking him up and dropping him will cause him to drop his primary weapon while doing it a second time drops his support weapon (ie. grenades). I wouldn't go over and grab his body as soon as you tranq him because his/her teammates will see that he's been tranq'd and will probably rush over there and start shooting in his general area. The person is not waking up anytime soon so it's best to wait for a bit and lure out other enemies. Either let them pass by or try to tranq them though I wouldn't try to tranq them unless you are in a good hiding spot or if you have several teammates helping you out. However, keep in mind that while we use the NARC skill to expose the enemy the possibility of the enemy doing the same is high. So it might be wise to just let them pass but use your own discretion. Anyways, once the coast is clear then you should pick up the body and grab his weapon. The person who grabs the enemy should change his priorities to taking out the enemy and/or provide backup to anyone who has grabbed the GAKO/Kerotan.

If someone throws a chaff grenade and then grabs the GAKO/Kerotan the hunting team will not be alerted that the target has been captured. This is particularly useful if you co-ordinate with your team because if you don't have chaff grenades and want to be stealthy about this you can ask someone to toss a chaff grenade for you or have two teams get in position to grab the targets then when everyone is in position toss the chaff and start running for your life. This works great if people have mics since it's easier to co-ordinate. I'm looking to purchase a blue-tooth headset today or tomorrow for this. Now this worked prior to the expansion pack but I noticed some changes and I thought I saw this didn't work after the expansion but I haven't tested it since then if someone knows for sure let me know.

C.Box use is pretty important in Team Sneak for both sides of the field. Knowing the proper places to use the C.Box is important since you can avoid being spotted when your position is compromised or you can wait for people to pass you by before you get the drop on them. Every level has key places to use the C.Box so take some time to look around and think about good spots. If you are on the hunting side then you need to find spots that get decent amount of traffic through it because that will become your edge over the opposing team.

Sneaking Plans:

Plan A:

Split your team into one 2-man sneak team and the rest of the team act as decoys/offense. The decoys distract the enemy by trying to tranq them while avoiding detection though it's better to find positions that make you hard to find before doing this. The 2-man sneak team heads their way for the target but at a really cautious pace because your decoy team is bound to get caught which will compromise your position. It's best to find 'checkpoints' as you sneak along and what I mean by checkpoints is areas that provide the best place to recover from when your position is compromised. So areas with crawl spaces, obscure obstructions, or areas where box placement is not suspicious. This sneak team is responsible for grabbing the target and rushing back to the base. The person with the target just runs while the 2nd person covers his back. If there are no pursuers then the 2nd person takes point and scopes the area ahead. Personally, it works out well if one person has the chaff while the other person has stun grenades. The 2nd person on point can toss grenades at close by enemies to distract them or toss a few at the goal line to blind/stun anyone camping allowing the 2nd person to coast to the goal line.

Plan B:

Split your team into 3 teams one decoy, and two sneaking teams. The two sneaking teams make their way to the targets and the decoy stays behind until the two teams are in position. The decoy team then rushes out and start drawing the enemy out with large movements. While the enemy is occupied with the decoy team the other 2 teams acquire the target and rush for the goal line using the same methodology of plan A. This is the hunting teams worst case scenario as they have to really co-ordinate with each other to split their team up to get the targets back. If they are co-ordinated they will camp at the targets and the goal line but you want to be quick and cautious to prevent that from happening.

I'll break down team sneak by stages.

Blood Bath:

The Gako is located down some steps that is right next to the hunting team's spawn point while the Kerotan is located just outside the hunting team's spawn point. The goal line is located to the left of the spawn point of one of the teams in TDM. It's to the left of when you spawn in that area in TDM just outside of the stairs.

If you are looking to grab the Gako then the fastest way is to jump down and take the underground path near your spawn point. There is a path to the right near the end of this area that has a ledge that is too high for a single person to climb, however, with two people one person goes near the ledge while the other is closeby. The person near the edge will be prompted to press triangle, which will put your character into a boost position (you kind of have to move around the wall to get the right prompt to show up). The second person goes near the person and they will be prompted to press triangle to get the first person to boost them up onto the ledge. The person on the ledge has to position themselves at the edge to get a triangle prompt to extend their hand out to the person below. The person below can then press triangle (provided they are positioned right) to grab their arm and get pulled up onto the ledge. The Gako is around the corner and you can just high tail it to your base, which is really close by. This a speed run to get the GAKO, however, please keep in mind that the hunting team will 90% of the time rush down the steps first and start tossing grenades/shooting dark spots as soon as the match starts. Hiding usual doesn't help in this area because most people know all of the hiding spots. You're best bet is too either tranq them fast or hide in the area above and wait for them to pass by. Enemy Locaters are great for this area because before you jump down you can toss a couple and see how many people are roughly in the area.

If you are aiming for the Kerotan then as soon as the match begins you need to head up and stick to the shadows. I personally get in the prone position in the shadows created by the building in the middle of the map. Nobody can spot your shadow unless you are moving too fast and are creating a lot of dust. Don't hide in the muddy water because you don't blend too well with it and it's still pretty easy to spot you. The majority of the time people will be checking behind the rocks/cover or go up the tower to see for any big movements or if people are hiding behind things in the sunlight. If you hide in the shadows of the building you'll barely get spotted. It's also works well if you are looking to recover from a compromised position as you can switch to the C.Box without raising too many eyebrows. I like to camp in the shadows just outside of the enemy spawn camp near the kerotan. There are a few guys who will camp in this area and the position has a rock slightly in front of it so it's hard to make your position out. Usually when the enemy lets their guard down I'll quickly take out my tranq gun and go for a headshot. If I can't make the shot then I'll switch back to the stun knife and most people haven't noticed a thing. When trying to find the right opportunity to grab the kerotan do it when you've cleared the area or if the majority of the enemy is occupied with gunning down your teammates. Throw a chaff grenade and then run for it. When running you want to weave between the rocks/cover laid throughout the stage so if the enemy starts pursuing you they have to wait for specific times to take shots but you can use this to your advantage as well. You can hide in these areas and wait for them to search the area and then CQC/Knife combos to take them out.

If you are looking to Tranq/Knife the enemy then the best thing to do is stay put in your spawning area. Shoot out all of the lights in the area to make it harder for the enemy to spot you then wait. The enemy only has one entry way and you have multiple escape routes to you so you have the advantage already. Hide around the corners and have stun grenades on the ready. The minute you see someone come down the stairs toss a grenade and avoid the flash. You can try to take out a few people with stun grenades (2 well placed grenades will stun an enemy). If you have enough people here then unleash the tranq darts as they come down the stairs but be ready to run/roll/dodge incoming grenades. E. Locaters will also be valuable here. Just make sure they don't have any guys waiting in the bottom area to pick off the run aways otherwise the whole plan will fall apart but this is useful tactic to use if the enemy tries to pull this off on your team. For the most part this is a nice tactic to use early on because only a few people will consider rushing the spawn point and not the entire group. Usually the majority of the opposing team will rush the area below you trying to foil anybody looking to grab the GAKO.

The middle tower is also a good place to hide in since there are plenty of shadows in that area. Ready the stun knife and when someone rushes the area then stun them, take their weapon and finish them off. Best to leave the area once you kill one person as your position has been compromised at that point. The various bits of cover is also good to use for surprise CQC Knife kills.

Hunting Side:

As soon as you spawn run straight and go down the stairs when you reach the end. Start tossing grenades in all possible hiding spots and avoid getting tranq'd at all costs. Be aware of the area directly behind you when you get down on the stairs. If the enemy was quick they are hiding in the darkest part of that stage and are waiting for you to grenade the front while they sneak up behind you and take you out. Grenade the area that requires a boost to get the GAKO.

Always have someone guarding the GAKO since it is the most vulnerable at least in my opinion. This person only needs to stay there until the area is cleared by your other teammates. Then shift the focus to guarding the kerotan or hunting for others. Don't run around like an idiot in this stage because it is very easy for someone to shank you from behind. Don't overlook the common hiding spots that I've mentioned.

Midtown Maelstrom

This is a really tough one for the sneaking side. Too many people try to rush the left hand side of the spawn point and this becomes stupid because people will grenade the area and sure enough there is usually one or two people who will get hit by the grenade. Exposing everyone else resulting in the majority of the team dying. Take your time and sneak carefully there are plenty of other paths to take that doesn't invovle getting spotted. There is a crawl space in front of the spawn spot, a ladder that leads to the upper level behind the huge buidling where the goal line is, there is another crawl space to the far left in the grassy area, and then there is the other side that circles around the other buildings. The GAKO is located on top of small building near the catapult while the kerotan is on the roof near one of the buildings that's behind the opposing team's spawning location. The Kerotan is the high risk one and I haven't been succesful in grabbing it let alone getting close to it since my position is compromised by other people so many times plus I usually aim for the GAKO since it's closer and easier to get.

There are a few good hiding spots in this location such as the crawl spaces I mentioned before, the garbage bins around the stage and then some places where you can hide behind large obstructions. Use them to your advantage whatever tactics you like to use. Be careful of over exposing yourself in the crawl spaces because you don't have many options once you've been spotted.

The area to the right that circles the other buildings is my preference when sneaking. It has several 'checkpoints' and different options depending on how you want to approach this. You have to act fast when sneaking if you want the goal because giving too much time allows the opposing team to camp at the goal line, gako, and kerotan at once. You don't want to give them this opportunity unless you have properly positioned your teammates to defend the goalline.

When approaching the GAKO it's best to take the above mentioned route and hide near the crawlspace that is close to the stairs. If someone gets spotted then crawl into the duct and ready the tranq gun. If an enemy tries to crawl and take out anyone hiding in there you'll be more then prepared to take them out first. Don't over extend yourself and try to take out the tranq enemy right away. There is usually one or two people waiting around the corner waiting for someone to expose themself. Toss a E.Locater if you have one to make sure but bide your time and wait for the right time to strike. If the action is too hot in that area crawl to the other exit and carefully scope the area before exiting. If not then crawl out and make your way up the stairs and climb towards the GAKO. Be especially cautious of C.Boxes in the area since they could easily be people hiding. Shoot the boxes to be sure but don't stay exposed for too long. Once the coast is clear then grab the GAKO and get on that catapult as soon as possible.

The kerotan is almost not worth going for because of it's position and I haven't attempted to get it though I've seen others try. I think the most successful route is the junction walkway from the GAKO roof to the roof that is behind the spawning point of the hunting team. It has nice shadows to hide in near the ladder that leads to the roof. You can magazine the entrances to hold off the enemy but you are really exposed during this time so exercise caution. You can make your way to the kerotan and once you've secured it then you have a long road ahead of you because getting onto the roof where the goal line is located is very difficult. The best path is that ladder on the side of the building where it has lots of obstructions to prevent you from getting shot as you climb up. You'll need to be cautious of goal line campers.

Team strategies:

If we all have MICs then I suggest using plan B and keep in constant communication. If team 1 is aiming for the GAKO then while one person is scoping the area around GAKO the other player should be looking ahead and behind and warn the player when there are approaching enemies.

We need 1 team to guard the goal line because a lot of the times people will camp there but in survival mode 5 minutes is short and it might force different strategies.

The last team can either head for kerotan or act as decoys but constant relay of enemy position information is vital from this team so the teams sneaking towards the target can co-ordinate their hiding spots.

I had written up information on UU but I lost all of it when I tried to post it.

I'll have to do that another time and only if people are finding this information useful.

Oh yea, in G.G. you have to be aware that your breath is visible and is another tell. The way to avoid your breath from showing is play dead face down or to hide in a C.Box with the breath portion pressed up against a wall.

In Rescue missions Sixth Sense is the most important skill because everyone is placing traps like crazy so being able to detect them is key. Guarding the targets is not so much key as in Team Sneak since you can spot everyone so I would approach like TDM but a bigger concentration on pairing up and splitting up to cover the most common areas.

Capture:

I think we have our problem with capture missions is that we have too many people trying to do everything at once and not enough focus on assigning tasks. I think we can put good pressure on the enemy if one group focuses on taking them out allowing our other team grab the target. I've noticed that the person who grabs the target has no back up and usually gets picked off so we need to work on that (unless you guys have already fixed that issue since I last played with you guys). However, we also need a group that can run after the enemy when they've picked up the target so it's tough to balance these things out especially with just 6 people so at best we get 2 man teams for each duty but when 1 dies what then? I guess if we rush in as one collaborative unit then we might be able to do some damage but we run the risk of lacking in one area.

Dr. Stormlocke/Litvinenko: About that game last night, when I asked you to meet me at the 3rd floor. I was mainly building up my Scanner ability and was giving away free DSR-1s to people since I was building up so much DP. Your team needed help so I was going to keep on giving you DSR-1s to help out since I knew you were the best on that team. :wonder: I was CQCing and scanning so much that I had over 60,000 DP. I must have handed out at least 7 DSR-1s in that round alone and about 3 or 4 I gave to your team... after I stole them. I'd knock them out, steal it, let them revive, knock them out, drag them some where safe, drop the DSR-1 on top of them then... RUN LIKE MAD!!! It paid off though, I got my Scanner up to Lv2 1/2 playing in there... dood.

I know emblem editing allows you to upload images from the harddrive and maybe from an external storage device so I think it would be possible to create the emblem in photoshop first. I think we've all seen some pretty crazy emblem designs and I don't think anyone is crazy enough to create it using the emblem tool that the game provides.

Haha, I see. Yeah I was doing fine, the rest of my team not so much. The best though was I CQC'd some guy and stole his DSR-1 which only had 5 bullets in it. I got some kills and eventually ran out of ammo. A few minutes later I got CQC ambushed and they stole my empty gun. It was awesome when he tried to point it at my head an execute me only to realize there were no bullets left.

That game was such stat padding in disguise for the host though, let's be honest, haha.

Survival Matches are only held during Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 1800-2200 though they don't specify what time zone this is so I have a hard time figuring out when exactly this starts because 1800 should be 6:00PM but when I try to get in at 6:00PM nothing is ready.

There are only 2 survival servers (Rex and Ray) and they are only limited to 800 people each meaning you have to get on right away or near the end as spots fill out fast.

Might pick up a blue tooth headset after work today since I found one around $30 that is known to be compatible with the PS3.

Kind of odd they don't give time zones... strange...

And somewhere around this topic Canto posted about a good Blue Tooth headset that should work on the PS3 (about $30, possibly cheaper by now). I have the link saved on my computer (at work at the moment), but its somewhere here.

Err...West Coast/PST doesn't sound right to me because it would be an hour behind me, which means the survival matches start at 5:00PM for me and that's definitely not right. By the time I can get into a survival match it's around 7:30PM and I'm Mountain Standard Time.

Pozer:
I should be buying my headset from Future Shop. The headset is a Jabara Bluetooth Headset (BT125) that is currently on sale for $30 so I'm hoping the store I go to has some in stock. Provided their website didn't lie to me.

The servers are in Japan. But in this region, it goes by West Coast time.

HOWEVER, due to Daylight Savings Time, we are on PDT (and not PST) right now, which is why the time may seem "wrong" to some of you guys.

No, Yeah Dood is. Smoke bomb + CQC is too fucking good.

Oh, and my encounter with douchebaggery adds another. |Solid_Snake|. Be on the look out for this clown. We'll be invading his turf one day. I wanted to play a simple game with my friend Genotox and all of a sudden I'm "stacking". What the fuck, guy? I just wanna team up with him. Fuck your team. You guys aren't even that good. Then I got kicked out for making a joke saying, "Stacker 2. Burns the fat off just as good" and I got "flamed" for it. Yes, his flame was "GTFO scrub."

If you're taking this game too heart, then you really need to stop playing because it's not that great of a game. It's fun, but it's not the end all be all game.

Srry yeah dood is good but Kombo is better. I'm not hating but it's just truth. Yeah dood is an excellent player though. I'm the worst in the SRK clan I think 2nd worst is some sexy chic named solidfoxy I wonder who that is?:lovin:

Edit: I'm down for survival all 3 days. Too bad I'm not a soulcalibur fan SC3 was hella broken and 4 looks to be the same. I'm sorry guys just my opinion. I'm waiting for SS2THD Remix and SF4. Fuck VF5 ps3 ain't got no online. Sega u blow again, where's my shenmue 3.........

Just checked it out.

Wow. Everything from what we can choose from when we make a new character plus Berets and Johnnys Glasses for an obscene amount of money? Sorry, but I'm not paying no 10,000 points for a damn hat, let alone 50,000 points for a red one.

I hope this doesn't imply that good shit will be expensive as hell cause those 13k points I have are from 3 days of survival and good wins. its going to take at least a month, if not more, to get 50k.

When a game is restarted due to a change of host, do the stats you accumulated in that reset round get tallied or do they disappear into oblivion? Because I was honestly just having the round of my life and i double killed the host and his buddy after they snuck up on me, the host quit and I lost it all. I was sniping with the AK, setting magazine traps like a motherfucker, headshots galore, etc etc. I was like 15-1 at the time. I hate to think all that awesomeness is gone forever. Anyone have good news for me?

Yeah Dood 120%
07-29-2008, 09:21 PM
:bluu: Wow, the reward shop sucks. Just about everything in it is just standard stuff you get when you make a new character. I don't need any of it. I prefer having my character in all black so I can hide in shadows. OMG, you won't believe how many people just walk right past me in areas like Ambush Alley when I crouch and face a wall. I once had an enemy lay right next to me and get into a snipping position inside that one dark room and I sat there for a good 10 seconds before I pulled out my Operator and pumped a shot in his head.

GGs today with Deathscythe. :looney: We demolished those guys in that non lethal room. I was usually pulling 150+ points while they could barely pull 10-50. I finally got Scanner lv3 now.

I'm dropping my CQC Lv to Lv1 now. I'm still able to choke people out with Lv1 but having Monomania Lv3, Narc Lv3 and either Sixth Sense Lv3 or Scanner Lv3 is helpful for me and my teammates. My new set up now is going to be CQC Lv1, Monomania Lv3, Narc Lv3 and my last slot will go to either Sixth Sense or Scanner depending on which map or game mode we're playing in. I wish we could hold just one more slot.

Anyone have good news for me?I'm not sure if it does. If you look at my record is says the most kills in a row I have is 10. But there was one set where I took over the enemy snipping area in U.U and I killed 16 people back to back that were trying to climb the ladders to get it back and I was kicked out of the game for it. The 16 straight kills don't appear on my record.

Samurai ReBirth Edit:
:wonder: Oh yeah, after having a super bad start at this game (I had around 1,100 more deaths than kills trying to become an effective CQC player), I'm only like 120 kills away from having more kills than deaths. I guess I've gotten a little better at this but... :arazz: where the heck is my Bear emblem for CQC... dood?

^ Gone

I believe that stats get recorded at the end of the round.

I just got my water bear emblem back (yay) cause I take naps during TDM and still come out on top. I have found certain places on the maps where I can play dead/box/ stand behind a corner and get people real easy while giving them a damn hard time trying to get me haha. The last couple games i've played I've only had 1 or 2 deaths and that helps your score a lot which makes me come out on top.

Regarding Yeah Dood's post.. I can't believe how many times people have walked past me when I play dead. Sometimes I think I'm playing against the CPU!! I'm not even all black, I have a green shirt on and am not that hard to spot. lol When I see someone attempted to play dead its a free kill and no one has caught me by surpirse yet.

Wish I could hop on and play but the new 2.42 firmware is giving me problems (disconnect errors etc) and preventing me from signing online.

I just bought Akiba Eyewear too, haha. I do want a Black or Grey Beret but I'm as underwhelmed at the Reward Shop as the rest of you are. Hopefully we'll be getting some Big Boss trenchcoats, MGS1 Orange Meryl Jacket/Dave from Policenauts Jacket, MGS2 Gurlukovich Night Vision Goggles and so on and so forth.

All I do is lie down at a random spot in the map and make sure there are no snipers around. they lay there and watch my skill streak go up >_>

So yeah, I still suck at MGO. I never really played any FPS-type games before, so I really have no aptitude for assault rifles/sub machine guns and maybe get headshots 1:15 times.

I tend to have better luck with sniper rifles/shotguns and grenades though, but I find that I have to flank the other team alot to sneak up on them to use shotgun effectively(cutting me away from my team), and I don't know what skills I should be using with the sniper rifle.

Any advice?

Seriously, just pick the skills that you use the most.
I like throwing my nads far, so I use Quarterback. And I use the FP view mode quiet a bit, so I have Hawkeye on. I tend to not use stuff that takes more than 1 slot, but my Quarterback and Hawkeye only take 1 slot no matter what lvl.

As for playing, well just know that when crouching you have better accuracy and less re-coil on your guns (but I believe your hit box for your head increases slighty).

Otherwise, just play more and you just should get better.

Hmm... Far ranged assualt rifle guy.

Stay back as much as you can and use first person view. Put your gun on burst mode and stay far away from the enemy and take shots while aiming for the head. Also have stun grenades handy so if the enemy gets too close you throw one down on the ground and run the hell away and even if you get blinded yourself just run as fast as you can.

As soon as you kill some CHANGE YOUR POSITION. Almost 70 percent of the time they will try to look for you to kill you, this gives you the opportunity to hide behind a wall and wait for them to show up and greet them with a couple bullets to their brains.

If they're too close and you don't think you can run away, stand behind a wall and pop out to surprise the hell out of them or just throw a stun grenade and pop out and shoot the hell out of them.

Skills you will need:

Hawkeye lvl 3
Manomania lvl 3
Assualt Rifle lvl 2

Hawkeye is so you can zoom in real far and take them out easy. Manomania is to help you know when you actually shot someone and to show your team mates where the enemy is if they happen to be closer to the enemy. AR lvl 2 is to help with aiming and reloading time. Cool thing about all this is that even though you'll be a guy in the shadows you can still take someone out if they get too close. Remember to always aim for the head. I also suggest maybe just AR lvl 1 and running lvl 1 so you can get from place to place faster.

Try it out and see if its your kinda thing. If you don't like it then I can give tips on being a shotgun user.

You don't necessarily have to change your position after a kill. In Urban Ultimatum(most of you know where I sit), I kill from that position and just camp there for free. I've only encountered THREE people that knew how to counter that spot. Everyone else just sucks.

Except that Headshot only, no Sniper Rifle server. If I stayed any longer I'd be a Sloth right now.

Yeah this is the best mentality to have. Relocating after kills, and preparing an ambush at another location of your choosing. I do this in tandem with Magazines and Sleeping Gas Mines for ultimate annoyance. On Valley Vista it's also very important so that you don't get counter-sniped. Though there are places on each side that are pretty ridiculously effective if you have a good team.

Power Station side: Move up to the large boulder in the middle, just in front of the truck outside of spawn. Your only real concern is the land ramp leading top side just to the left of the boulder if you're facing enemy spawn. I usually mop up from this location.

Canyon side: Go topside, hug the cliffs on the left at the very end of the area. There's a patch of grass where you can crouch or go prone. It's got a great field of vision and you can snipe people down below that are taking cover behind the smaller boulders. You also have shots at the Power Station tower, and the left most machine gun. It's more dangerous though as the enemy team can run up either ramps next to the mortar and quickly overwhelm you. If you have a team holding topside though, it can be great.

It's also important (and obvious) to note that watching when enemies die can help you avoid when they spawn in, letting you traverse through their base with greater survivability. I give myself about 10 seconds for each enemy death before moving in for Spawn Camping or SOP Destabilizing purposes.

Manomania
I think the only time I use this skill is when I play with SRK >_>
Otherwise my set is usually replace it with either QuarterBack or Runner lvl 1.

Oh and noob questions.
How do you activate the SOP? Is it really by just holding triangle?

Canto
07-30-2008, 01:44 PM
For me, Manomania is essential and helps so much because not only does it notify my teamates of who I am shooting at, it shows the enemy for around 7 seconds so I can see when he ducks behind a wall if he is going to jump out and shoot me or try to go around and get me. It also helps in laggy games so I can see if I actually shot someone lol.

You still don't know how to activate SOP? Man..

Yes, hold TRIANGLE until a blue aura goes around you and surrounding team mates. That shit is the best part of the game. Always activate it when you are around teammates.. ALWAYS.

Alright cool, thanks! I'll try some of those strats out tonight and see if it works for me(I actually just started experimenting with Narc/Mono the other day). But...you can only use a total of four levels when choosing skills right? So does that mean I should be ok with using Hawkeye lvl 1, Mono lvl 1, AR lvl 2?
