Everyone plagiarizes in music. It's inevitable because it's really a limited medium. Just like with paintings there's probably 1000's of shades of red green & blue, and I'm pretty sure there's a lot of landscapes that look really similar out there. It's really easy to do, and it's even easier to make something that is incidentally similar LOOK plagiarized if you want to do so badly enough.
So, I hate people who say stuff like "Man, that's the same song that's in X. They totally stole that." Nope, chances are, they probably didn't know it even existed. Listen to the music in Fuego en la Sangre and tell me that doesn't sound like the bass line in FF7's still More Fighting. Only, it's not. If I had a dime for every melody I laid out and then heard in a John Williams piece (http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=4601796&postcount=7567) I'd be rich just off of that.

I'm with ya. They're a very boring band. I might listen to them in passing and not care but I've never understood how people can get so hardcore about bands that do the same shit over and over again and rely on being catchy.
