Alright, I would put this in the PS3 network thread but this is actually a bigger matter than that thread and I want to forewarn all Ps3 owners, and enthusiasts alike. This isnt a BASH, but this is just a little insight on there unfair and unjust business practices that I have just taken witness to.
Recently I made a new PSN account because I was tired of my old one. Go figure. It deleted my old saved games and all (have to replay for trophies anyhow) and I attempted to make a new PSN network account. All the downloaded content from the PS store is still there.
I have a new Wachovia card due to losing my old one, well for those of you without Wachovia your new ATM card may have the last 4 digits slightly different than the entire original 16 digit card number. No big deal, once you get a new card your entire profile is switched from your old 16 digit to your new 16 digit. So basically you new 16 digit overwrites.
Fast forward a few days and I attempt to RE-purchase (FOR FREE because you can download titles you purchased an unlimited number of times) Tekken 5 DR and Superstardust HD. Now keep in consideration when I tried to play Tekken I was prompted to re-download, assuming the account I originally downloaded it on was gone, I needed to have it "switched" to my current profile. If I was actually purchasing this for the first time, I should have just been prompted to buy the game instead of re-downloading. More on that part later. ..
Everything goes fine. I can download it and it works just great. Now I attempt to download Superstardust and it wont allow me.
I call customer service and after pressing many keys and holding for many minutes a HUMAN takes the phone and proceeds to ask me is my PS3 "green light" on and all kinds of silly things, when Im asking about the status of my online wallet. At any rate she ASSURES me that the servers may be busy and that my card info which was linked to my old account would switch to my new account, regardless of the different digits because its still linked to the same wachovia account. She suggested I try to re-download at a later date.
Well it doesnt. And today I go to the bank and to my surprise one of my accounts is hit with an overdraft fee for a 30 dollar purchase. Guess how much Tekken 5 DR costs in the online store? And since I had an account in the negative, I could deposit money but I couldnt withdraw funds until it was cleared. Exactly. You could imagine the look on my face as I stood in the bank. I NEVER overdraft. Not on any of my accounts. I called Sony customer service again.
Today I got some guy, and I basically had to argue my case to him. I was constantly put on hold, almost 30 minutes of back n fourth with this guy. He claimed that I had a "completely different number" and that "I wasnt understanding him" and that the PSN network recognized it as a different account. Yes I KNOW. I know that TECHNICALLY it is a "new account" because the number slightly different it is ALSO technically the same wachovia account trying to purchase funds off the PSN store. So I tell him to pull up the old account and he says "all the information is gone" yet. . I have friends that still have seventhcircle on their friends list and the bank CLEARLY has records of my purchase because I just got slapped with a fee for apparently pulling out funds I didnt have... but they are mysteriously gone over at Sony. He puts me on hold to talk to his manager.
The manager THEN says. . get this. .this is the real gag
He said he cant refund me my money because the card number is different. I should have CALLED sony (since when) and told them I lost my old ATM card and that the new card would have a different number, so I can get clearance to make a new PSN account to link the card to. OH FUCKING REALLY? THEN they go on to say I can dispute the case, and if I WIN (meaning I get the money back that I was unfairly charged) I would be PERMANENTLY BANNED FOR LIFE FROM THE PSNetwork.
I cant speak right now. I can TYPE. But right now words just will not come out my mouth! WHAT KIND OF WORLD IS THIS? Sony can do this? WHHAAAAAAAT? This is a LEGAL business practice?
