Quake Live is an upcoming free version of Quake 3 Arena with updated graphics and community features such as: Full stats, friends list, hosted servers, optimatch with skill rankings and more all running in your browser or full screen. The game will be free to play with nothing to buy ever and is supported by ads running ingame on billboards.

fuck yeah, heard about this awhile ago and I'm excited that they're making some headway. I've been waiting for a long time for quake 3 to come back and kick everybody's ass. bungie, epic and valve could spend forever making a game and they could never come close to the greatness that is quake 3. that being said if anybody has a beta invite I would love you forever.

It's better than open arena because it's made by ID its an upgrade to quake 3. By upgrade I mean better visuals as well as community features such as full stats, great server browser, friends list, achievements etc all based around the quake live website.

Every person invited gets 5 invites to give out. I used mine up but should get 5 more soon. I say we keep this going and try to get as many of us in as possible.

bah. When I finally got a response from people via PM (with their name/email) and went to send the invites, the invites were gone. Did this happen to anyone else here? Just use R1Q2 (http://www.r1ch.net/stuff/r1q2/download/r1q2-websetup.exe) instead of the regular client.
