The big deal about Watchmen is pretty much similar to the big deal regarding stuff like the Mona Lisa, the Statue of Liberty, and the Great Wall of China. They are all testaments of human achievement, the templates to which every person today aspires to reach but never can, despite our efforts.

That's why it's a stupid idea to try to turn it into a movie. Just like it's a stupid idea to remake a live-action Street Fighter movie without Jean-Claude and Raul Julia's corpse.

But it was a smart idea to use such a nice song for the trailer. I'll give 'em that one. Love you too, P. Gabby.

Also you've got to realize when this was released, 1985. It was really the first comic that I know of to break the mold of the traditional superhero comic. Sandman (Neil Gaiman) or Preacher and shit like that wasn't around yet, so Watchmen was a huge influence on modern non-traditional graphic novels like Sin City, etc.

Who watches the Watchmen? I certainly will. Picked up the book at the library a month ago and only got halfway through, someone else had it on loan so I couldn't renew it...bitches. Anyway, even if I've read half of the story, the trailer alone looks like it will do the series justice.

As far as Manhattan goes, you couldn't pull that off with face paint at all.

Sir you are very correct this comic is garbage and I know people are going to get hurt but man I read it twice and yes there are some good parts like the comic within the comic is good and Rorschach is an awesome character but past that it's boring ass garbage and anything Grant Morrison writes blows this out the water. I read V for vendetta thought it was okay but actually the movie was better once again only my opinion and as far as how the trailer for this movie looks........... it looks really good so here's to hoping it's better than the comic.

Undecided. I thought 300 was pretty good but could of been better, and this is from the same director. I don't want a pretty good Watchmen movie, I want a great one. I guess I'll wait to hear what my friends think about it first and then I'll see about checking it out. Unless it drops on a slow weekend after a payday or something. Most def will check it out on pay per view or by rental down the line if I don't see it on the big screen.
