Well, they'd pretty much need to have alternate colors for each costume. Otherwise you have player 1 who bought the costume and player 2 who bought the costume looking identical. (if that's not what you meant, then I'm not sure what you meant...)

There are 8 variations for the regular costume, 2 are default and 6 need to be bought with Zeny. This is looking at Viper's colors, which I would assume would be similar with anyone else.

Ryu's is fine. I mean...he is by far the most vanilla character in the game. It fits his personality story wise. I just can't see Ryu in like a tuxedo or casual wear. Other than just to put him in it. Blanka's outfit is fitting IMO because he's always been one of the LEAST serious characters in SF history. I mean...as soon as you saw his SF2 ending it was obvious how much of a joke he was. "MOMMY!!!" LOL. Alpha 3 really played him off as much more of a Saturday morning cartoon with his comedic win poses. I like him that way. Goofball monster fighter. He definitely looks more of a beast in this game than he has since the old SF2 games.

Actually, now that I think of it, is there any way to accumulate Zenni besides normal VS matches? There was a player at Sega Gigo with Boxer's alt. costume, and he had only something like 1300bp. Yeah I saw that picture again a couple days ago. A lot of people say that Ryu's wearing a tuxedo but other people also pointed out that he's not exactly wearing a tuxedo also. If you look at it closer it looks more like a traditional gi. Especially his pants. Those don't look like any tuxedo pants I had ever seen.

Yeah...the outfit Chun's wearing in that picture is a bit more "classy" and not quite as revealing. Basically Lei Fang's original outfit in DOA. The only character who's cleavage isn't all over the place in her regular outfit.

This is true, but also at the same time Ryu has always been seen as the straight shooter in Street Fighter. Besides, Capcom's done this before so I just see it as them being consistant.

Remember Pocket Fighter. You've got Chun-Li dressing as Jill, Ken as a cowboy, Akuma in speedoes (I blame part of my mind warping over the years on that), Felicia jumping into all sorts of cosplay and what does Ryu do?

The extent of him cosplaying is boxing gloves and putting on geta. And that was the joke. In a game full of cosplay combos and all sorts of hilarity he is the straight man.

So while other characters might get cool outfits and such, Ryu gets a worn out gi and his shirt down. To me, that fits. Because he is epic mans of TRAINING and such.

To me Fei Long is one of the better Bruce Lee clones simply because he has a slightly different character to Bruce, and most importantly a different fighting style. This is the paramount difference which separates him from other Bruce Lee clones. Unless you are Bruce Lee himself, there is no reason to fight like he did, or scream like he did. JKD is more about fighting your own way. I understand the idea behind characters like Law, but a real tribute to Bruce IMO would be someone who studied JKD but fought differently to Bruce, and wasn't trying to be Bruce. Fei Long has a cool moveset which doesn't 100% copy Lee.

Back on point, The Game of Death outfit for Fei would suck. It's been done before. They should really try and make him his own man now. A different alt outfit for him would be great. Fei Long already has a basis to be a great tribute to Bruce Lee and be his own character.

I agree with Coco J although Fei is a Lee clone he is slighlty different to the point where it registers as a clone where as in Tekken with Law especially with the Game of Death outfit I kinda think:

Wow, that really didn't live up to my expectations. Granted, one blurry shot doesn't necessarily give a fair impression of what it will actually look like in person, but it doesn't seem nearly as cool as I thought it'd be based on descriptions. I was thinking more Doc Savage, less, er... that.

Overall, new outfits have been very disappointing so far. I think every single character looks great in their default outfit, and I wasn't expecting new outfits in the first place, so I wouldn't say I'm unhappy... but since they are doing new costumes for all characters I can't help feel I could've been a lot happier. I'm just not very impressed with the direction they've gone with; Chun-Li seems to be the only character so far with an actual completely new, different costume (and she's the only one who's actually HAD multiple outfits in the past - go figure), but hers I'm not too enthused with personally. Still, I'll take new costumes over cosplay or slight alterations any day.

I was thinking the same thing. His shirt got shredded, and his pants are spotless. They probably didn't want to work on rendering naked legs for him, they got lazy on the alts.
