View Full Version : What kind of joysticks were on the SF IV setup at Comic Con?

I'm new to the whole custom-joystick thing but would like to get one made very similar to how the one felt on the machines at Comic Con where they were demoing SF IV. Anyone know the hardware used or anyone that makes sticks with a similar feel? The joysticks were very smooth moving, not "clicky" like the Hori sticks I've played with in the past.

The joysticks were clicky, you probably just couldn't hear it.
They were equipped with:
JLF-TP-8Y-SK-W
OBSF-30-W
OBSF-24-W
All Sanwa.

Sanwa don't really click, not like Happ do anyway. But yeah, all Sanwa, that's if they're in the Viewlix cabs...

I liked how they played but am really just looking for a smooth moving joystick. I can't stand the Hori DOA4 stick I'm using for my 360. What do you guys suggest for really smooth components? Sanwa?

If there is a fighting game God then the official sticks that come out with the console release will just be straight up Viewlix panels with identical parts. Playing at Comic Con was the best cabinet I've ever experienced, hands down.

I agree. Any idea on what components would give a similar feel to this in a custom made joystick?

Essentially, as long as you have the same joystick and buttons, you will have a similar if not the same feeling.

it was a few posts above yours. :wgrin:
We have sellers in the tech forum with these parts. Look up akihabrashop.jp and lizardlick.com. Plenty of custom sticks builders use them.

Would anyone happen to know where to find a Vewlix panel layout? There are some that are close, but as far as I know nobody has put up a scan with the exact button layout/dimensions.
Also, custom art that recreates the red panel would be cool too...
You could ask TheRealNeoGeo, I believe he made a custom stick with a Viewlix panel.

This thread should be in Tech Talk.
Slagcoin's post fron the stick template/layout thread contains a link to a page on his website that should include the Vewlix control panel layout's measurements.

Get a Perfect 360. A little more expensive but worth it.
