not sure if any of you guys are into getting limited editions or collector's editions, but gamestop stores are now taking reserves for a collector's edition of street fighter 4. i know because i work at one, and we noticed that it was added to the list of new releases this morning. all of our guys upgraded our reserves today to the collector's edition. the extras included w/ the collector's edition haven't been released yet, but i'm sure that info will be out sometime soon to promote preorders.

might be the same thing. no idea. probably won't know until they tell us what we're getting w/ our collector's edition. might be different bonuses, but i doubt it.
i was thinking it would just be an art book and some other small extras... time will tell.

if you preordered from somewhere else, i have no idea. at gamestop, they only had the regular edition until this morning or late yesterday. some games have multiple collector's editions, depending on who's selling it (i.e. amazon, gamestop, walmart, etc). maybe we'll get different things depending on who the preorder is through, but i'm not sure at this point. like i said, when i find out what's included w/ ours, i'll post up. sorry for any confusion.

Shit, it's only $80, doesn't look like it'll be bundled with an arcade stick.

Since it's MadCatz, maybe. :razzy:
I still can't believe they are the official controller makers... I remember buying controllers and memory cards from them and they literally broke within a month.

lol MadCatz products are too good(i.e. they break within a week). Yeah, I'm on the fence as well on whether or not I want to import or wait for the U.S. version.

I remember hearing that MadCatz are NOT making the SF4 stick, but they were given some kind of rights by Capcom to make other SF shit.

My local "Play-n-Trade" said it's still Feb for release.. but he mentioned something about a Xmas release to ride the hype from their E3 award. We can only hope.

Now that I think about it, can you play online with the Jap version on a US console?

Unless Capcom region-locks SF4 you can do it on the PS3. Chances are it will be region-locked on X360, so it prolly won't work there. No clue about PC.

Is it even possible to region lock a PC game?

whats the release date ??? ??
Is it even possible to region lock a PC game?
It kinda is possible.
They can require the computer to be running a Japanese version of Windows XP or Vista. So, a Pseudo-Region Lock

Yes. Why wouldn't it be?
A better question is, "Is it even possible to region lock a PC game successfully" to which the answer is "not so much".
Game application & OS's are so easily changed to bypass it. ID is easy to fake (done in Korean MMOs all the time...you can easily fake a KSSN (Korean Social Security Number). IP addresses can be blocked but proxies can easily get around that.
The only effective region lock (this includes consoles, btw, since you can easily get around those...(modding)) is one done in a popular content delivery system, like Steam.

There is no such thing. Just a Windows XP/Vista running the Japanese language.

How will this effect ppl who pre-ordered the regualr edition already for the SFIV art book? Sure I can cancel (pre-ordered online), but I want that book lol. Can't wait to hear what's included in the CE.
