Since I'm nowhere near an SFIV machine, can someone please describe what Blanka's "Fear Down" (D+PPP) move is? I have frame data for it, but I don't know what the move itself exactly is, and I'd like a description. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

he crouches down really low, so low he can duck under fireballs. Kind of like Dhalsim's slide but without advancing forward.

While Blanka is in this stance, will Sagat's low fireball still hit him?

I'm thinking so, :wonder: otherwise he's unhittable like claws back flips.

It is probably a none offensive alternative to Blanka's :df:+:hp: Amazon River Run

no, they fly over him when he does the stance. i have no clue if you can hit/throw him out of it though i'll find out next chance i get

And, while your Blanka is in this stance can you do charge attacks instantly? Or do you have to get Blanka out of this stance and then do a Blanka ball for instance?

You have to get out of the stance to preform any attacks. Also since you can duck under standing normal moves,
so you can hop up EX electric and basically go through any follow up attack.

He's not invincible during this, he can be hit be low attacks that hit along the ground like most sweeps, Dhalsim's far crouching punches and slides, etc.

THX, that makes more since and lines up with how the sliding fierce works too.

Well according to the frame data, he has upperbody invincibility during the move (At least I think that's what it says), which is why only really low attacks can hit him. But I think it also says that you cancel it (29-65F) into his Ball specials and his super.

In addition, is there a part where he's airborne? I may be reading the data wrong, but there's a sentence that looks like it says airborne from 69-77F. Is this where he springs back up or something?

That could be right. I only really use this to duck projectiles. If you press up I believe he gets out of it. He does a little sort of hop back onto his feet.

While he gets up he is indeed airbourne.

For baiting, maybe? Very strange way to spend two EX blocks.

actually you can still ball out of this stance, but you have to wait a sec or two. you can also do electricity but you still have to wait a little t do it. i am starting to use this move alot. it frustrates shoto characters to jump in and i hit em with an up ball or a hop ultra straight out of the fear down

Dont know if this has been touched on yet, But you can do all your charge attacks from the cowards crouch. You just have you wait a moment. I like ducking a firball, and the vertballing the guy who thinks he can jump in for a quick sweep :china:
