The funny thing is since I only play fighters MP on XBL, I get massive neg rep and unsporting. This game has put my avoid% down from 80% to 72% already.

Gotten a few disconnects and assholes, but mostly nice comments. I think it's because ST caters to more strategic players, who tend to be nicer and actually have triple-digit IQs.

The only time I got complained about for grabbing was when I got the "throwing is cheap" acheivement for it. About half the throws were air throws to boot.

I will say this, there's a reason I made sure my stick did not have a mic. I don't want you guys listening to my rage (I don't rage at tournies or player matches, but will rage online in ranked matches) I know I once got yelled at in the barracks for it when I was on kaillera.

Summary: A scrub starts getting beaten down, and the connection dies during a game (your opponent will just stand there not moving for a while before it recongnizes the dropped connection). This dude gets excited that he's finally getting some hits in, and then accuses Mad Possum of quitting (rank cheating) when it shows the dropped connection before he can finish the game. Remember guys, high win ratios are impossible hahah.
He gets told a whole bunch of times and one page later he bitterly retracts his accusation.

On the topic of angry comments, I get a lot of "noob," "learn to play the game" and accusations of being a lag abuser. The last one I imagine comes from the fact that I probably do lag compared to a bunch of the people on, but hard to help when I'm playing from the middle of the pacific. Lots of people bitching on microphone too.

But aside from all that, it's surprising just how friendly people tend to be as well. Most of my experiences have been entirely positive. Funny thing happened the other day. I was doing Player Matches, and there were a couple of talkative guys who kept saying how they needed to "dethrone that Dee Jay player," and jokingly compared the Dee Jay vs. Guile fights to Obama vs. McCain, but never in a way like I was being cheap or anything. So I started talking with them. They asked about the stick I use and such, and said: "Hey, call up Toys and Joys and see if Steve has that stick."

I replied with: "Toys and Joys? Are you guys over on Oahu?"
"Yeah. Are you?"
"No, I'm on Maui, but I was there at UH a couple years back."
"What the hell, we're getting our asses kicked by a Maui boy?"

It depends...in player match I find that I can use Vega and not feel bad about it since there's inevitably somebody that may be able to beat me. Most of time, I get cool responses from the people in player while in ranked they would get all pissed so I just started using T. Hawk there. Another thing I noticed, is it just me or do most of the good players just play on player match? I get nothing but scrubs and sub-par guiles/ryu/ken on ranked.

It depends...in player match I find that I can use Vega and not feel bad about it since there's inevitably somebody that may be able to beat me. Most of time, I get cool responses from the people in player while in ranked they would get all pissed so I just started using T. Hawk there. Another thing I noticed, is it just me or do most of the good players just play on player match? I get nothing but scrubs and sub-par guiles/ryu/ken on ranked.

Player matches are more fun and it brings back that nostalgia of staying at the front of the arcade cabinet and sending the scrubs back to the quarter machine. Plus the ability to have 6 people in the room who can leave and come in at any time allows for diverse play and really interesting conversations. Also you don't get people purposely leaving games to pad stats. Players will just play games out now like they're at the arcade since all they have to lose is their pride. You'll mainly get shitty players with big egos in ranked matches when the player matches have so much more to offer.

So basically the guy was completely mistaken.

I'm a top community member on Burnout Paradise and Criterion Games (the developer) recognized me (and a handful of other people) for it and gave us a unique car. No one's ever seen the car before online, and when they found out why I had it and that they (everyone else playing) could not, they all jumped my shit. I went out that night and came home and saw the "You have received a new messsage." notification on my PS3. Boy were they right. Seriously. Anyways, because of the whole fiasco, the company just ended up giving the car away to everyone.

Playing Vega in SFHDR and doing somewhat well with him just pisses people off. Now I'm not constantly wall diving (though I should be, probably) or only doing tick throws. I got about 10 messages from the friends of this one guy I beat. He was flipping out and calling me a cheater because I pulled off Vega's wall dive super and grabbed Bison out of his Psycho Crusher so he got all his friends to bitch at me too. I have gotten so many "fuck u dirty taco" messages that I've lost track.

So when I get home tonight... even though I barely played anything other than some LittleBigPlanet last night, I already know I'm going to have maybe 15 or 20 hate messages when I turn on my PS3 in a few hours.

I am *SO* glad that PSN doesn't support reputation like the 360.

I started learning Sagat today, hosted a player match against a dude, wirednakotomi or something like that. He was beating me pretty well, as to be expected as it's my first match experience with sagat. He's switching up characters and giving me a lot of exposure, so after about 8 whoopings i decide to switch to cammy and see how i do against him with a character i actually have learned a bit.

Proceed to rattle off 9 straight, using basic cammy shenanigans (meaty Fierce into hooligan, crossup ticks, double cannon drill, etc.) and get this gem in my mailbox.

On the topic of angry comments, I get a lot of "noob," "learn to play the game" and accusations of being a lag abuser. The last one I imagine comes from the fact that I probably do lag compared to a bunch of the people on, but hard to help when I'm playing from the middle of the pacific. Lots of people bitching on microphone too.

But aside from all that, it's surprising just how friendly people tend to be as well. Most of my experiences have been entirely positive. Funny thing happened the other day. I was doing Player Matches, and there were a couple of talkative guys who kept saying how they needed to "dethrone that Dee Jay player," and jokingly compared the Dee Jay vs. Guile fights to Obama vs. McCain, but never in a way like I was being cheap or anything. So I started talking with them. They asked about the stick I use and such, and said: "Hey, call up Toys and Joys and see if Steve has that stick."

I replied with: "Toys and Joys? Are you guys over on Oahu?"
"Yeah. Are you?"
"No, I'm on Maui, but I was there at UH a couple years back."
"What the hell, we're getting our asses kicked by a Maui boy?"

Got a couple of friend requests out of that, and a very pleasant afternoon of fighting.

I love this thread but this is IMO the best post to read it just reminds me of the really good times playing games and cool people I've met online that I wouldn't have been able to any other way.

I am not a Honda user in the slightest but I did know there isn't much Hawk can do once he falls a little bit behind.
