It doesn't look like they're TRYING to make him weak like they did in other games, but the future is still open. You may yet get your wish. (Although he looks like he may still beat Claw.)

Yeah, he could almost pass for KOF '98 EX Robert if they gave him a rebounding dive kick and changed the LK version of his Dan Dan Kick to the Hien Shippu Kyaku. (Which would be terrible, because the SF4 LK knee looks to be the best move he's had in, um, ever.)

The scary thing is, I MIGHT. If he's actually balanced as a remotely playable character and not a glorified taunt like every other game he's appeared in, I'd be willing to give him a fair shot. And to be honest, he actually looks pretty fun for like, the first time in...ever.

(But really I'll probably just play Cammy. And maybe Sagat for cheeseball value.)

he doesnt look like he would be the shit worst character in the game. i mean his moves are pretty decent from what we have seen but what they did was make him overall have goofy movements. he will still be the goofy character but not as bad as we will think (or thats what i think)

it's hard to tell, though, since the only frame of reference so far is that video of him fighting another Dan, and for all we know, he might take more damage than other characters, too.

Dan was my main in SFA2 and I am hoping he is at least fair in this game (I am not greedy, mid-tier is just fine for me) so I can play him without being at a big disadvantage.

Looks like he's valid but they are intentionally making his animations comical, so he maintains his Dan-ness.

All these SNK/Kyokugen references are pure sweetness nevertheless, and someone told me his win pose is something Kakyoin did (Capcom's known to love JoJo).

Videogames are useless toys designed solely for the purpose of entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less. So yeah, everyone will play as Dan for fun, as well as play as anyone else for fun. Why else would you play a game?

I used to think this. Until you beat people while taunting the whole time. A victory with a regular character is a nice boost to your self-esteem, but a victory with Dan while taunting like a madman makes you feel like you could punch out god.

I love Dan, and I hope he's decent, but nothing really beats stomping people with him in games where he sucks balls.

instead of dissapointing people by making a garbage character instead of filling the slot with someone better, i think that capcom hit it out of the park by including this character and then making him worth playing to 90% of the populace.
