Dunno if this has been posted (if it has, lock away) but this is pretty cool. Kotaku got a SFIV Training Manual in the mail. It is 39 pages in length. It shows moves and Background stories of the cast. I wonder how limited this will become and how it much would it go for on eBay:

Why do some characters have a red star next to the move? Kinda like Rose's Soul Drill of Cammy's Spin Knuckle.

Maybe it means some property the move has (i.e. can be done in air or has armor break). There should be a legend on the manual though.

Wonder why they opted for just 1 super combo per character.

Seth Killian explained it earlier in a SF4 challenge mode video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn9-4XOQBuc#t=1m56s) when he showed off the movelists in the game menu.

Blue stars = EXable
Red stars = Armor break properties

Come to think of it, are there any special moves that will armor break only when the EX version is used? How would they then make that differentiation with the stars?

From HarcoreGamer's site (here (http://www.hardcoregamer.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=24)):

In addition to the monthly hard copy, which is available at popular video game specialty stores, newsstands, booksellers, supermarkets and other retail outlets, we also offer a downloadable, electronic PDF version available free of charge. The monthly electronic issue is available day and date with the hard copy. We also make it available on a host of affiliate websites, which are listed at the bottom of this page.

So it should be out already. Hope that helps.

Just to clarify and to let you know, the training manual Kotaku is referring to is NOT that issue of hardcore gamer that you have for download there.

The training manual refers to the console version and has guides for the new characters, the issue of hardcore gamer was released much earlier and doesn't contain any guides for the console characters.

Is the training manual the thingy that comes with the Collector's Edition?

No, the collector's guide is made by Prima (I believe) and it's a mini book with guides to the new characters in the series.

http://kotaku.com/5114739/street-fighter-iv-collectors-edition-revealed-with-new-box-art

2. A limited-edition (ie., not sold anywhere else) figurine – Ryu in the PS3 box, C. Viper hotness in the 360 flavor. Decisions, decisions...

3. Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind: a 65 minute anime movie — created by Studio 4C — that sets up the story of SFIV by explaining events post-SFII. BluRay disc in the PS3 box! The Xbox version is a 360 game disc that outputs the movie at 720P, not a DVD.

4. A mini-strategy guide from Prima, written by the same people doing the full-on guide and illustrated by Udon Comics

5. CD soundtrack. Rock SFIV stage chunez in your car!

6. …Plus some secret additional downloadable content that we’re not quite ready to reveal at this point. Look for more announcements soon!

FYI... It's more a comic book than a strategy guide (the one that comes with the CE game).

hm. Maybe they figure Kinjite Shoryuken more difficult to pronounce and generally unappealing / weak sounding so they translated that into the awesome sounding FORBIDDEN Shoryuken. A lot of thought goes into these sort of things.

Guide was underwhelming. I was expecting a lightweight mook. Nothing like it, sadly. Like I said in that other thread, it was like a big-ass glossy movelist. Only like two characters had any combos listed so I was kinda let down.
