Street Fighter 4 Combos Into Infinity
Arcade players uncover potential game imbalance.
By Dustin Quillen, 09/02/2008
Street Fighter 4 players have -- not two weeks after the game's first appearance in America -- discovered a potential infinite combo in the game. Official Xbox Magazine passed along this video showing SF4's new luchador character El Fuerte repeatedly transitioning from a standing fierce punch into a canceled dash -- not quite into infinity, but it's a start.
If you're not a hardcore fighting game fan, that all probably sounded like Greek to you. In a nutshell, an infinite combo is a series of moves in a fighting game that, if performed correctly, cannot be escaped by the opponent. As frustrating as they can be, the reality is that infinite combos have been present in almost every competitive fighting game to date -- as recently as Soul Calibur IV, and as retro as Mortal Kombat 3.
The arcade release of Street Fighter 4 has occasionally been regarded as a sort of tongue-in-cheek public beta test for the eventual home version, which is set to receive a few substantial additions when it finally drops. It's not surprising, then, that Capcom might have a few kinks to iron out before then -- be they infinite combos or grotesque man-hands.

yet over on eventhubs (awesome site), he is bottom on the tier list? From this video he looks like a madass rushdown char with a some what semi-infinite?
