View Full Version : Anti Air tips? Also tips vs Akuma?

What kind of options should Gief rely on for antiair? Im still stuck in Alpha3 trying to do low crouches into lariats, which often trade. So I tried to fall back on low strong punch which I barely used. That seems to be trading or losing more often than not. I havent tried standing jabs yet as Im afraid that will trade and not be worth it.

Also as I played on xbox live. Akumas seem to have no problem constantly jumping back and tossing out fireballs. Anything Im missing? have trouble green handing through, lariating, etc. the slight lag throws off perfectly timed jumps and what not. of course once I get close there goes a 1/3 of his health

I would say you are right about cr.kkk but you have to wait till their jump is really deep. Hit them just before they hit the ground. st.jab beats a whole heck of a lot as well as cr.mp. I also just learned from UltraDavid that the j.up.mp (giefs new headbutt) is a great AA tool.

As far as Akuma goes, I'm not much help. he's a problem for me as well. I usually try and get under the air fbs and go for EXglove or a poke to mess up his timing. I havn't done this yet but I would think EXrunning bear grab would be decent as well due to its armor.

Or for the adventrous ones, fadc absorb air fireball, dash forward, spd. Easier said then done though and I don't know if it'll work :looney:

akuma's air fireball is an oportunity to catch up for me...when he throws it spinning larriet then keep creeping closer till i get my mits around them
