So on wakeup or a jump in or any blocked attempt at an attack with an opportunity for followup, what do you guys usually do? I'm used to having something that does chip damage to end the blocked poke string with but with Abel there doesn't seem to be anything safe. It's usually a couple of c.shorts or c.jabs and then a c.strong or c.forward and that's it because his c.RH is god awful slow to come out.

In my experience don't use c.RH you will be punished with SRK. I have been just using shorts and jabs as well.

If your jump-ins are being blocked you should be ticking into your command throw. That's what it's there for.

Mix it up as far as what you choose to do. That is all I can say really. Sometimes I come in close, then quickly back off and do a wheel kick. This catches people off guard sometimes. Jump in for a cross up sometimes.

If they're a shoto, get close to them and wait like you're going to grab and then quickly crouch block and let the whiff the shoryu. Punish with your string.

I just tend to do something different constantly.

Also if you train them with safe wheel kicks on wake up using a roundhouse wheelkick, next time you would do one, do a short wheelkick and again they're likely to shoryu nothing. Command grab them, string them, etc when they fall back down to the ground helpless.

c.lp xx command grab
c.sh xx light wheelkick
Don't do anything, let the shotos or anyone whiff their wake-up than go to town

but I find dashing back as a wicked thing to do.

if they stick anything out and you succesfully dash back out of it, you can c.mp from a safe distance and hit conform the rekka from there

or dash-back, they throw something or not, wheelkick
