I haven't read the main thread, but I've been hit out of this move 3 times now on xbox live.
First happened while I did ex tatsu against ryu, in the middle of it, he did a dragonpunch.
Second time, Sagat got out of it somehow I forgot.
Just now, I did an ex hurricane kick against blanka and in the middle of it he electrocuted me.

according to the frame data, he's got 3 frames in between each kick where he's not attacking. Also each hit has a -1 disadvantage upon blocking.

Oh ok. I can understand on block how I can be hit out of it. But while it's already hitting a character, that's just weird.
anyone else had this happen to them?

oh good, I thought it was just me. I got ken hp shoryu me out of it.
Pretty frustrating. Does that mean we absolutely need to kep the distance so that he's hitting with his feet?

may be because is it s most damaging move even more in the corner with ultra..
plus it have good priority for first frame.
it s wiffing against some character when they are crouch
and against other character( sagat and some other) even if they stand depending of the distance some hit might wiff...
it s weird ....

this has happen a lot to me, i like abusing this from one of my combos and ill get knocked right out of it to be honest. this is on xbox live.

Simply, you have to hit with it pretty close. It can whiff a kick or two if you hit at its maximum range, which gives enough of a window for your opponent to do whatever. And Gasp, you should try it out before dismissing it. Its damage is sick, and it sets up some nice corner stuff. Not as efficient as shoryu to FADC to Ultra, but still good.

It depends on what you use to combo into the EX Tatsu.
If you go for cr.MP into EX Tatsu, then sometimes they fall out of it.
Usually if you combo with cr.HP up close, there is no problem with it.
However, if you try cr.MP, cr.HP xx EX Tatsu, they will fall out of it (because to link this the cr.HP hits from quite far away). Oddly enough though, if you do Jump in HP, cr.MP, cr.HP xx EX Tatsu, then all of the hits connect!
Best combo I find to guarantee the EX Tatsu is cr.LP, cr.LP, cr.HP xx EX Tatsu. Gives you time to confirm the hits to go into EX Tatsu and they don't fall out of the Tatsu either.
