First off, let me say hi and all that. I registered a while back but was never active, but now that SF4 is out, I'm hoping to get active on here to help my game out and find some good matches. ^_^
Now, I entered the gamestop tournament, and while it was my first, I absolutely destroyed everybody there with my sagat. I came in 1st, but I don't want to get overconfident, because it was only round 1. I know there'll be some steep competition in round 2. So I have a few questions concerning Sagat:
1.) Who are the "counters" for sagat?
2.) I had trouble with a Bison player in particular. He kept spamming Head Press and Devil Reverse, so I couldn't get near him. I was able to pull out some EX Tiger shots/Tiger Uppercuts and snuff him out of 'em, but to be honest, I know a more experienced Bison player won't fall for such a simple trick. So what's the best way to counter a Bison? Corner pressure worked somewhat, but he EX Head Pressed his way out of it.
3.) What are some combos that would be wise to know? I have a few that I do, but I'm not sure if it's enough to keep me going. Here's a few I got:
Tiger Uppercut --> EX Cancel to High Step-In kick --> Tiger Destruction *I'm sure everybody probably knows this one*
Jump-in HK/HP --> Crouching MK --> EX Low Tiger Shot
Jump-in HK/HP --> Crouching MP --> EX High Tiger Shot --> Tiger Destruction
And then there's the step-in fake to increase his Tiger Knee range, and I find it's a good fake-out for a tiger uppercut, as well.
So that's about it. One of the guys at the tourney told me he's been to gencon, and told me I got a good shot at making it to the Round 4 finals, but I'm trying to take it one week at a time, and just stay focused. So I'm looking to find out if there are any more crucial strategies and such that I should learn to help my game. :)
