Hey just got a few quick Q's if anyone has time to awnser
1. How do i work on improving my blocking, in game i have technique and attack at like A-B but always get C on def if i win and E if i loose so i think this is my biggest isue
2. How precise can i get with the regular 360 control i cant get hold of a pad so i need to learn control but it seems very hard to precisely and acuratly get attacks out often leading to me getting punished big time.
So any help would be great, sorry if this is asked a lot and i look forward to trying out the help.

Was not meaning to be a jobsworth and the more I read the thread I agree with you. Anyway on to your questions.
On the blocking point I have been told of the following method. You can either go into training, set the opposing charachter to CPU and on a higher level than you are used to playing against. Then simply do not attack, just concentrate on defending. The more I play this game the more I realise the best playes defend and then counter. They only get aggresive when their oppenent is running low on health or has given them an opening by being reckless or by falling for a trap they set up. Alternatively go into training and play with a human opponent. One attacks and one defends (cannot counter at all, just block). Put the attack data on to see how much damage you take within an agreed time. Reverse roles and see who came out best. When playing against a human player they are not allowed to use specials or throws to begin with, but when you get used to it, you can start adding these in to make it more like a normal fight. I can't take credit for this as I got it from a site I was told about (which I forget the name of)
Regarding the controller, get a stick. I started playing fighting games after a controller with a Hori ex2 (good to start with and not too expensive) and managed to get my hands on the madcatz TE for SF4. My game has improved no end. Its the combos into ultras that will come loads easier with a stick and make you much more dangerous and fluid as a player.

You're just unlucky for buying SF4 on the 360. You're going to HAVE to find a replacement controller if you want to work your way up into becoming a respected player.
It may not necessarily be the Madcatz controllers and sticks, but anything. Probably anything will be better than the 360 D-Pad.
I believe the Hori EX-2 arcade stick is a pretty damn good stick, and it's quite cheap, actually, if you look around online.

Amazon must have upped the price for ex 2. I got mine for £35. Its a good allround stick. I would suggest getting that first and see how you get on. If you find that your game improves (which it should) then you can decide if you want to get something else (Hori pro stick or Madcatz). There are loads of examples of upgrading on youtube if you want to get an idea of whether that is for you or not.

People are having a laugh just because of this game. I got my hori before Christmas when fighting games were not even considered that important to the mainstream and amazon could not shift sticks for love nor money. Wait a little bit and the price will come down for sure. If you have a computer exchange near you, try them. Sometimes they have fight sticks in good condition second hand and a reasonable price.

i have the sf4 se fight stick and i noticed right away i was doing moves way more easy then the controller, and with more consistance then with the controller. i how ever don't like the square gate that it comes with for the directional stick, so i bought parts for it, which i hope will be in soon. i'm love fighting with it but i did notice i'm a lot slower with it as far as doing combo's, which i think is due to the fact i haven't used or even played "acarde style" in a long time. but i am how ever enjoying the fight stick and imagine when the parts come in i will be using the fight stick a lot more.
on the topic i have trouble with blocking to, i have been spending the last couple days playing the computer controled fighter on hard to chanllenge myself and teach my self to block so that i have reaction to my moves and can react to the computer controlled fighter's moves.

Too true, bought Hori stick for $40 around the middle of last year for a different game and have found it to be a quality stick, although I don't like the stick's square gate. I've heard it's easily modded as well so that's also a plus.
