Problems with balrog on a 360 controller

So here my problem, when i do running upper cut motion it always come out a low running uppercut and that just the beginning of my problems with the weird 360 d-pad. I can headbutt into ultra on the right side easily but when I on my left its like its impossible to come out. I dunno why its like this. Anyone else having a similar problem?

i have to use the analog for charge characters and d-pad for shotos the easiest way to become familiar with directions is to-

go to practice and turn on notations where it shows what you input then find it on the stick

i'm having a similar problem with balrog it's just cuz it's 360 pad. got my TE stick so i dont need to deal with 360 pad balrog anymore:rock:

I completed all the balrog trials using a 360 pad. While once i get my stick i'm sure i'll be able to execute easier because i'm more used to a stick... .but you should be able to do any combo using the pad... just change your button configuration and practice.

It's all about muscle memory.....

Eph posted some seriously insane combos and I've been able to execute a lot of them with the pad and the ones i can't are ones that have some insane 1 frame link in between and that has nothing to do with using a pad or a stick.

I haven't completed all of the balrog trials, but I get along just fine for the most part with the craptastical 360 pad. I've had the same issue with getting rush uppers out, but like anything, it mostly takes practice. I never played on the arcade growing up, so I think getting a stick would be a bad idea for me, but for charge characters I think the 360 pad works out okay.

I never said i couldnt headbutt on the right side I said i couldnt headbutt juggle xx ultra on the left side cause the xbox 360 controller wont let me lol

I think i got it now just cant juggle on the left side consistently. headbutt ub xx ultra just dont seem to coroporate on my left side on the d-pad ima quit for now till i get a stick lol

Funny, I can do everything on any char on the left side, but the right side gives me troubles.

It's most likely because I'm right handed and the movement is more awkward in nature to me, since few games require it.

Just keep practicing, I'm sure you can figure it out eventually. Also, you might want to turn on input display, many of the times you fail to do it correctly are caused by you missing a key input (probably keeping the charge going after headbutt) or you're pressing :d: instead of :db:.

Why is this thread still open? there are no actual controller limitations in this situation, you just need more practice. People have overcome these difficulties that you're having, so it's not the controller, it's you.
