just hold down back...
You mean like the Blanka scrubs that always do blanka ball -> electricity -> blanka ball -> electricity -> slide, rinse repeat?

Eh, once you get up to the good guile, you're see a lot of mixed up.
If you can't counter a simple predictable spam, than you're not really that better than them. To be good in sf, you have to adapt your style to how your opponent play.

Why would they stop spamming the same moves if its working?

Quite possibly the worst thread ever started by a 09 member.
But seriously, good guile players do not abuse crouching roundhouse. Stop getting owned by scrubs.

Sorry, blanka cant call guile scrubby, ever; under any circumstance. The only character more mindless than blanka is gief.

scrubby guile doing a grab? so rare! i think it's more of:
sb > walk > ((j.hk > c.hk) or ( just c.hk)) > ((sb) or (fk)) > repeat till end of round

This post along with your OP defines the word scrub. Don't get mad at these Guile players, learn your Blanka/Guile matchup, and basic patterns like "spam" shouldn't be a problem... pointless thread, by the way.

If c.HK is working, good guile players will abuse it.
Unless there's some unwritten "pride" rule where you must win without doing what others deem "cheap", which is a crock.
If it's working, keep doing it.
I won a match last night against a Vega who refused to stop wall diving. I won the entire match on air throws.

Because it forms awful habits, same with Chun players using Df RH to cross up repeatedly, any one with experience will guard the crossup. For Guile, blocked sweep is damn near free focus attack on the 2nd hit, which means big damage. Definitely not something you want to get used to using.

I've seen a lot of high rated players try scrub spam at the start of the match. They wait to see if you can stop it. Then they adjust accordingly. If you can get an easy win, then do it.
Anybody who believes differently needs to google sirlin low strong.

Okay, Im sorry. I can beat guiles doing this spam about 75% of the time - its just frustrating seeing/hearing the same stuff.
Also, thats not how i play my blanka.

If I got frustrated by every SRK spamming Ken, lariat spamming Zangief or electricity spamming Blanka, I wouldn't bother playing online.
Unlike Z, Ken or Blanka, Guile's spam is overwhelmingly easy to punish and isn't nearly as effective. Take the easy win. Either they'll learn or quit playing Guile.
I can understand how spamming can be a bit frustrating, especially if it is overly abusable (ie, electricity, lariat). The key is to practice enough so that when you play a spammer, you jump for joy. I love it when people constantly spam blanka balls, SRKs, Headbutts, etc. It's like a free win. Just study what beats the spam and be ready for it when it comes. Just remember:
EXP > scrubs, spamming = scrubs

You should always gauge your opponent, if one move is working repeatedly, keep doing it until they stop you. If you keep getting punished for it, then stop doing it.

I guess the reason they use c. HK is that it's a staple in a lot of other characters that they use. It's simple to just j. HK > c. HK because it works.

I'm pretty damn awful at this game, but even I can block j.HK > c.HK most of the time... The only time it still hits me is when I block low too soon and get kicked in the head
I'm equally guilty of the whole sweep thing myself though, I do it far too often so I'm doing my best to work in some mix-ups. j.HK > target combo, j.HP > s.HP/c.MP > SB and such. My execution isn't very good yet so the range of things I can do is a bit limited :shake:

Can't Blanka punish this spam that he speaks of very easily? I'm pretty sure Blanka can (not that I'd ever play as Blanka).

I think the bigger question is, who is the bigger scrub, the guy spamming or the guy losing to the spam? Why should the guy spamming stop spamming if it wasn't working? Only a retard would keep doing something over and over again after getting punished for it the 20th time. If you can't beat a spam, you need to take a look at yourself first and see what you're doing wrong. Like what Omn1 said, you should be jumping for joy when someone spams. You know exactly what they're going to do. The exact same thing they've been doing.

Spamming Guile's C.HK is a surefire way to lose :)

If I see that a player cannot defend against C.HK, I'll happily spam with it. If he/she seems capable, I'll use something else. My guile against poor players is totally different to that against the better players.
I'm a scrubby guile that likes to do the following:
Act like a turtle and bait them to jump towards me > airgrab backbreaker
Then they are in the corner, and from there I do lp.Boom > Grab. Usually this one or two times, then I start mixing it up with boom > overhand combo, boom > cr.rh. As long as people fall for it, its what I like to do

Hi. First post. I don't think I saw this mentioned but can't Blanka just FADC the second hit of c. rh and then do c. mk xx blanka ball? Or even just FADC into ultra if you have the meter for it?
Hell, since you know that they're just spamming sb into sweep repeatedly, just block both hits of the sweep and ex blanka ball to go through the next sonic boom. If they threw a jab boom you'll probably bounce into after hitting them but at least you did some damage..
Personally, I avoid throwing c. rh randomly out of fear that the second hit will get FADC'ed. Maybe I've just been overestimating people?
Honestly, it just sounds like you need to work on your game some.

Gator Skin nails it on the head.
And no, you aren't overestimating people on the c.RH. I actually will use it to gauge the general skill of a random player in a player match. If someone uses a focus attack to punish the second hit then they know what they are doing.
For fun mindgames, spam c.RH until the opp starts to FA, then switch to c.mk. Sometimes the opp will think you are still doing c.RH and will FA after the c.mk. When you see this, break some glass with a flash kick. Good Times ::lol:
