Well I've been playing Championship mode for the last week, at G2 now, Dhalsiming it up and always facing the kens, ryus, giefs, rogs

but last night i had my first Dhalsim vs Dhalsim match, and boy was I excited, I had never seen him online against me (probably because my title is Dictator)

I get into the battle and we both instantly have a non-stop teleporting yoga fire battle, both of us were iating like crazy, i stopped iating and countered

by the end i won but man was it really fun/funny having a mirror match

who else has experienced the same, and why so few dhalsims online *sniff

It probably wasn't me (Shikimshts), but Dhalsim ditto matches are very x_X. I actually played a couple yesterday. It beats facing Ryu's though ._.

Dhalsim vs. Dhalsim matches are always confusing for me.

Ya it's the only match I can say I'm totally lost

Sim vs Sim matches are pretty loony, kind of like ELF vs ELF matches, you can never tell where anyone is going to be.

My rule for Dhalsim matches: always IAT second. Unless you've got a genuine trap and are forcing him to block, if you're the first guy to phase out, your opponent can IAT to get out of trouble and pressure you when you reappear. But yeah, it can get really confusing... not just the teleporting, but the fact that it's pretty much the only match in the game where both opponents can hit each other at any time from almost anywhere on the screen.

Kinda fun sometimes, but... just weird. I don't look forward to it the same way I look forward to the completely ridiculous and very fun Fuerte mirror.

I really don't like fighting other dhalsims. I mean, its awesome to see dhalsim being used by others, but its one of the most disjointed fights you can have, its like two sagats duking it out with tiger shots, only instead of tiger shots, substitute with IAT. The only fight that is more irritating to me is Seth, but that's neither here nor there.

I never cared for mirror matches.

Sim vs Sim is about as boring as Guile vs Guile

I actually enjoy when I run into another Sim, because I know it'll be a while before I see another one and at least it breaks up the monotony of Blankas, Bisons and Balrogs. Yeah the match will have an insane amount of floating and teleporting, but in my experience the matches are almost always close and come down to the wire.

It was kinda funny to see a vid uploaded of a Championship fight with two Sims in it the other day. I can't count how many mirror match Ryus and Sagats and Balrogs I've seen while skimming through the list.

I might be 09ing here, but isn't the best option in Sim vs. Sim to not IAT and instead try and teleport at the peek of your jump ark? It always seems like when sims start trading teleports, the one highest in the air has the overwhelming advantage to land whatever follow up they go for.

You can usually punish the person doing the IAT (unless they have a fire ball heading for you) with B.RHK. People love to teleport in the air a lot, you could also focus attack them while they're doing it and cause a crumple with a lvl 2 or 3 focus attack.

True, but if you teleport in at the peak of your arc, wouldn't any punch/kick beat AA because of the angle?

Mirror matches are very humbling... it just gives me an idea of how incredibly frustrating it must be for most of my opponents who play against me. :bluu:

Really difficult to nail another Sim with Ultra.

Sim mirrors are so stupid, I hate playing them because it's almost pure luck if both sims know what they are doing

I haven't liked the Sim vs Sim match even as far back as ST. Dhalsim has never seemed to have an answer to his own shenanigans.

Standing MK is helpful here though, hits them out of the start of IAT (prejump frames).

i agree with this, played like 20 sim vs sim yesterday and i can see what was happening and i knew how to counter it, but found kind of dificult to capitilaze.

I played the most epic sim VS sim matchup of all time today i swear. We were both agressive sim's, and the teleporting was making us both dizzy. I won, because my IAT was a great deal better than my opponents.
