Considering that we know how much japanese games companies seem to love Europe I would guess at later to never as a release date.
Best off importing and hopeing that the DLC is just costumes or something :(

Yeah there's no clear date. Ignition's site says squat and no website has an accurate date. And since Ignition now <3 all over their american section instead, Europe will be in the dark until it magically shows up in the shops. I mean christ, Samurai Shodown Anthology for the PS2 is apparently out (as is Wii + PSP) but show me a european or UK site that has that shit saying "BUY NOW!" .. not even ebay has anything. Only shopto.net has a 29th May release for it when Ignition are saying it's been available for over 3 weeks..
THE FUCK!? I had to strike it lucky in my local gamestation just to find Art of Fighting Anthology + SNK Classics Volume 1.

it looks like it's the dark old days for us again, no bb date no kof12, i really though after the ps2 things would have turned around for us euro gamers but now it seems worse than ever, roll on tekken br in fucking september.
As for ignition, at first i thought they were semi decent, decent info decent releases, it seemed to end pretty sharpish, are they really still saying ss collection out in europe? i thought that was canned bar the psp version, it's all gone tits up.
I'll be damned if i bother with another one of there pal releases again

For Blazeblue the US version will be multi language, not only english(probably spanish and french) and the xbox version isnt lock so you can import it wthout problem(PS3 games arent lock).
the question is will ignition do the same thing as Arksys or not.
anyway VirtuaLeon i see that you got PS3 gamertag so it doesnt really matter for you as the US and Jap version will work on all console.

Well the UK is only showing a Wii version (which is permanently out of stock) but for PS2? All I know is, it's on PS2 out in Holland and I've got a friend there finding me a copy. But yeah Ignition are really shit for us in Europe at the moment. It's like they've focused purely on IgnitionUSA and ignored us once more.. I mean look at the site differences.. USA has constant updates, their own message board now and well known releases. We get "Coming Soon" or "Now Available" (which most of them AREN'T unless you're lucky!) and left in the dark about everything.
As you say, roll on Tekken 6. I got BlazBlue on preorder because I'm confident it won't see a european release or at least any day soon.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS XII
Newly Hand-Drawn in High Resolution, The Fight is on in July 2009 on Xbox 360® and PLAYSTATION®3
March 3, 2009
Ignition Entertainment Ltd., a UTV Enterprise, a worldwide publisher and developer of videogames and SNK Playmore announced today that The King of Fighters XII is releasing worldwide in July 2009 on the PLAYSTATION®3 and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
The legendary 3-on-3 fighting game series that united rival brawlers from SNK Playmore’s classic arcade franchises celebrates its 15th Anniversary in style with the release of The King of Fighters XII. For the first time in its history, this epic martial arts showdown has undergone a complete graphical overhaul. The antiquated character sprites used over the past 14 years have been dropped in favour of all-new, high-resolution fighters fluidly animating across painstakingly detailed, 100% hand-drawn backgrounds.
“Our development slogan for KOFXII is “KOF Re-Birth” and we’ve aimed to create an entirely new King of Fighters game. To make this a truly unique fighting game, we’ve revolutionized the graphics by creating state of the art visuals - and made no compromises in that process whatsoever,” said Masaaki Kukino, SNK Playmore.
“I couldn’t think of a more appropriate way to commemorate The King of Fighter’s 15-Year Anniversary than with a gorgeously animated, high-definition installment that updates the KOF legacy for a new generation.” said Shane Bettenhausen, New Business Development Director of Ignition Entertainment. “While other fighting games have abandoned the time-consuming process of creating beautiful 2D art, KOFXII fully embraces the refined aesthetic beauty that only human hands can produce.”

I think international release this time is in the specific form which assumes that PAL regions don't exist since theres no date on gamefaqs and all the non-import sites I've checked and physical stores have no idea that it even exists

I have never heard of any instance where a company has specifically stated that a game will be released worldwide, then failed to release it in PAL territories.

I hope you're right. But the thing that puzzles me is, if a game that's planned to come out on PS3/360 in JULY this year, then how come no UK based shop/site has any news of a release? No shop that I use/browsed has ANY mention of a KOFXII.

For what it's worth, I have beside me right now the latest issue of GamesTM (#83) which states (on page 167, in the release list) that KOFXII is due for a July UK release.
I'm not saying that it's guaranteed not to be delayed - but now that someone other than Ignition is saying this is coming out in July a delay looks a lot less likely.
@ Iduno - what on earth made you think that it's going to be sold as physical media in some regions and download-only in others? That has never happened before and there's no reason to suppose it will for this or any other game.

UPDATE! After 3 days my email finally got a responce. Regarding KOFXII they're basically saying it's coming out ok and expect MORE news during E3 etc etc. All bold parts are their response to my questions
Hello,
I used to email a fair bit a while back but now I can't seem to get an answer from anyone store wise so I decided the best place to ask would be directly from you (hopefully!).
Just a few questions that's been bothering me a tad of late:
1. I was wondering why the American site has all the regular updates and cool things like a message board yet the European one (which has been active alot longer than the USA counterpart) has practically nothing. Updates come once in a blue moon and we hear pretty much nothing until a game is either out or supposedly out [which links to question 2]. I used to think it was connected to the whole Atari-UK/European publishing deal but now I just don't know!
There hasn’t been any updates as there hasn’t been anything to update as yet. A lot of info is being saved for next week’s E3. So please bear with us
2. Are UK based sites/stores having issues stocking your releases or is there some complications going that no one knows of? My biggest example will point to Samurai Shodown Anthology for PS2 especially. No site I have found has a copy, Shopto.net is the only one that lists it and it's release date is 1/12/2009 (yeah, December) when the game was released apparently at the end of April. I can't even find a PSP or Wii copy around (although I want the PS2 version) and it's puzzling. I've had exactly the same issues with the other SNK fighting titles such as Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol.1, World Heroes Anthology, Art of Fighting Anthology & King of Fighters Orochi Saga Collection. I was (thankfully) able to find random copies in the preowned section of my local Gamestation but that was pure luck and chance. So how come no website which are supposedly your retail partners know Jack when it comes to these? Play.com/Amazon.co.uk/even Ebay fails me.
The market – particularly in the UK is very difficult. There are hundreds of ‘lower price’ titles coming out and with the PS2 machine becoming less and less important at retail it can be difficult to ensure stocks are available. However this is something that should be rectified soon
3. Speaking of sites not knowing releases, my final question points to King of Fighters XII for PS3/360. For a game that is (or was.. who knows?) getting a worldwide release in July, why is it that no site in the European sector knows anything about it or EVEN lists the title? There is no mention of the game at all. No TBC, no listing. Period.
This is coming, magazine/online coverage of the game in the UK/Europe has been very positive, and the distributors we have in each area will be doing their part very soon
I know this all probably sounds like I'm complaining but deep down it really isn't. I'm just a worried customer who is confused and has been unable to get a straight answer for a long time now. So I'm pinning my hopes on this email and anxiously await a reply
We do understand your frustration, but the markets are changing and the space at retail for titles is getting ever smaller. With the upcoming release of KOF12 this will not be an issue. Expect more coverage from E3
PS. Please release Oboro Muramasa in Europe!! I really don't wanna have to import it :(
We would love to, but Ignition only has it for the US. Rising Star I understand is responsible for UK/Euope
Thanks for reading all that,
Michael Edwards
Thank you for your mail

Play-Asia is out of the question as they refuse to ship Sony products to Europe because of the case that got liksang.com closed. Best bet is to see if any UK based shop is importing or getting it from a site like http://www.videogamesplus.ca/ (which is rated highly to me by friends who have bought on more than one occassion).
As for KOFXII, importing might not be required as it's apparently coming out here but depends on how patient you are on the updates/news. Still waiting on Igntion to tell our stores what's going on basically.

Not UK listed sites. Apparently there's a few in Europe (France/Italy) but I dunno. All the major online retailers here (Play.com/GAME/GameStation/Amazon) don't list squat.

ignitions european website has a KOF countdown ending on the 28th august, and a few places are offering preorders (game, hmv), although they are quite high at £40 as mentioned... :(
for anyone who wants to buy an import, just go to eBay, that's where i got my copy of blazblue. Although I havent bought KOF yet, people have been offering it since its american release date.
The problem with imports is DLC, if and when it happens...

Yeah it's coming late August, already preordered.
While the price is high in most countries, it's probably the cheapest decent game in Australia for a damn long time, it's still probably $20 more than it should be, but it's a start.

i'll be too old to remember what an arcade stick is by the time we get this over here.
Confirmed :(
Got my email today saying that it's now the 25th of September before we get our hands on it. Anyone got any news as to why it's actually pushed back again?

I'm reasonably certain the netcode patch has something to do with this. Ignition aren't taking any chances with this.

I'm from Portugal i figured i couldn't hold out for the European realease so i went ahead and bought the American Version and been rocking it since Monday.
Also this past weekend i went to 2 Local gamestores here and saw the French version of the game on the racks(for ps3), so i advise ppl to check out stores and stuff... maybe some more stores have it allready.
Tbh not sure what is going on with this last push back to September, maybe it's just for ppl not to return the game cause of the shitty netcode, making it more late improves the chances of them having it fixed by then.

It's called PAL: nobody wants to fuck with it, but they want that money, so they just postpone the chore of PAL encoding. They know eventually they have to do it, just...not right now. That's why Euro releases are always WAY behind.

Fucking hell, I thought the delay from July to August was bad enough, now I was expecting to finally get this game next thursday and it's been delayed by another month?
Damn, thats frustrating...
Oh well, more reason for me to visit that arcade that I haven't been to in ages with the KOFXII machine I guess. I hope there are still people playing this online by the time it gets to Australia.

So Kof XII is really not coming out today? Man.. I was shocked, I was so excited about this game this sucks balls man..
I own a Xbox 360 and I live in germany so I have to wait a month again.
I hate SNK for it.. -.-
I want that game now and not in a month.

Ive just found out right now, while debating whether or not I should go and get it today...
Ignition had a countdown to today that says 'out now!', but when I looked for prices online, no shops had it in stock, and the GAME website says 25/09 like others have mentioned.
It seems like this whole KOF rebirth thing has just become a farce now, maybe they cant be bothered with a PAL release because of poor sales.
I don't blame ignition, but once again I find myself laughing/disgusted at SNK's piss poor attempt at acting like a games company.

Even if it was out I wouldnt buy it until I see what the upcoming patch does. So the delay isnt really bothering me.

well since online isnt the only way to play and i at least need to practice, this being my first kof game, the delay is a big ol' bitch for me.

Damn people, just import and be done with it! Ive been playing mine for close to 6 weeks now and will sell on and then rebuy the PAL version If and when it gets released.
Problem solved.

They delayed it because they wanted the patch out before Europeans got their hands on it.
It's not hard to understand, just import or wait.

I would have done that, but I stupidly expected it to be released in July... Then August... third times a charm?

Yeah you can.
I currently OWN a region free KOF 12 bought from Renchi. Cost me 43 squid and got it delivered in 4 days.
Add my 360 gamer tag if you like, you'll see that ive been playing it for ages.
... i love it when people are blatantly wrong.

Do yourself a favour and go to www.play-asia.com, I got KOFXII for £33 including delivery (Korean version) and it arrived in 5 days.
As soon as I found out that it was delayed for another month I ordered it from there and even though online is poor I'm not disappointed since I can still practice (AI is terrible but hey).
Edit: Here's the exact one I got: http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-g21x-71-dx-49-en-84-j-70-3fpt.html
I checked again and I got it sent to the UK in 5 days for £32.90 exactly.
Edit: And another thing, £32.90 is cheaper than the RRP in the UK. Everywhere I looked for pre-order it was £39.99.
Edit: Oh yeh and if you have a VISA card then you will get 20% off your order I believe. It's a good deal.

It's a good deal.
Blimey, that is good.
Still, i wanted my game before Play-asia had theirs on offer and was more than prepared to pay the premium for it.
I dont regret it at all.
BTW, 'Pijiu' doesnt exist as a gamer tag on LIVE. Ive just tried to add you. Ya might wanna sort that out if you wanna get some online matches in

Apologies I changed it only the other day. It's 'Kehna' now.
With the 20% discount btw it should work out at around £26 including delivery. I wish I had known about the offer and would have waited another week lol.

Do you think there will be a decent number of players or new players when this game hits on Sep 24? I'm starting to question whether or not I should even bother picking this up anymore, which is a real shame, since I was looking forward to it so long.
I also hope that the 360 patch gets released before the game does.

Hm.. Actually it's kinda sad but I don't think that many people are going to play it. Kof was always kinda a game for a little group of fans.
I mean I can't find any players on XBL since yesterday (at least somebody with a good connection).
I really love this game, we just can hope that at least a few people going to pick it up in europe..
I would buy it if I were you and yeah, I think the 360 patch is coming soon that's why the europe release got delayed I guess. oO
me and my pal Bmage just imported this.

I need a lot of training, I can't even pull out some good combos, but I think time is gonna make it, like SF4.

I'm finding lots of yellow connections at least on PSN, if I hadn't sold my 360 i'd give you a game. I am however experiencing "technical difficulties", I keep randomly getting dropped during or immediately after a game, and it happens relatively frequently now :looney:
Anyone else experiencing this or is the problem solely at my end?
alex24r
09-25-2009, 03:53 PM
I don't know if this is what your "technical difficulties" are... Well, I found this could be some sort of "host has left" problem. The guy that has the "crown" figure next to their name is supposed to be the host, so if the host leaves in the middle of the match, it takes you back to the lobby even if the host wasn't playing. I had this happen to me at least 3 times last night. I beat the "host" and then someone else joined I choose to play with them, but as we were choosing our characters, we got the "connection lost" message, and the host had left. The game just gives the host status to someone else and you can play normally.
Other than that, probably the other player left, or there was too much lag and the connection dropped.

Actually that makes sense. Although it wasn't just kicking me out the room it was saying I wasn't signed into PSN when I still was but I could rejoin the room if I tried to. It leveled out last night anyway and I got a few games in the end.

does anyone know if the Euro version is different to the USA 'region free' one?
I saw the game in Gamestation today...already imported it and was wondering whether or not any eventual DLC packs would cause issues as my game would technically be USA and not Euro...different PSN store and all that!
