Has anyone won a G1 tournament with Dan yet?

If not, then I'm making this my next goal!

I shall grind to the final match with Ryu, then pick Dan and try my best to demonstrate the glory of Saikyo.

As aaaa_ said, I've got one up right now, and it's hosted in Youtube as well. The video thread has a link. It's not a great match by any stretch, and I can't believe I botched the ending taunt, but a G1 Dan win is a G1 Dan win. ;)

I didn't need to 'grind with Ryu' to get to the final either. It's all Dan, all the time! And I generally do well, too, I'm up over 16000 points while there's some players who've fallen back down into the 14000s.

I'm sure I'll get another championship win up soon, I'm regularly getting to the 3rd and 4th rounds. One other final I made it too, I lost to a Cammy I shouldn't have lost to, and I've beaten that player every other time I've played them. I just wound up losing the match that mattered the most. :(

I don't play on PSN so I didn't see MajinSSJ6Goku's replay.

But I just watched Xiahou's G1 win. I'm green with envy. I can't get past 3 wins with Dan. I have no trouble winning first rounds, but the moment people start respecting Saikyo and figuring out my shedanigans, I get beat. Or maybe I need to taunt more.

The road to Saikyo is long and arduous. I'll keep trying.

It's very rewarding to beat people with Dan; few people know how to handle him :bgrin: .Up to 17000 gps now and climbing.

I fought someone who had a score of less than 14200 GPs. How is it even possible? that's 160 matches lost in a row...lol

It doesnt surprise me, Im only at 6k in G2 and Ive fought some 10k-14k guys that really left me scratching my head. Eventually G1 will be just like G2, with the ability to keep people from grinding into S grade.

I think Capcom should have set it up differently, I mean ultimately everyone can get to G1 if they are persistent enough, S grade is the only one you cant grind to. heres what capcom should have done. 3 brackets. g2, g1, s, you have to either get runner up or win the final to get ANY points in all brackets and in g1 you lose points for a 1st round loss as is now, and 20k is required to get from g2 to g1.
