I've been making custom challenges (a la Challenge Mode) to help me learn advanced concepts and improve execution. Below is a list of challenges based on discussion and videos from the forum. Any suggestions on how to improve them?

Tier 3 Challenges -- Advanced Tools and Concepts
combos (except 4) vs. Sagat without EX / turbo

I was thinking of doing something like this while ago. Good stuff!

One exercise I use:

mk hands fadc x repeat until my fingers cant move

The screen gets all crooked after 3 or 4 reps.

I was thinking about putting together a pocket guide. One that anyone could print out, cut, and staple together that would fit in your pocket. It would include gens weakness' and strengths, and character matchups including; zoning each specific character, which moves counter which (like ex roll beats Rufus tornado clean) etc., and a play style guide that that would include techniques against that specific character. What to do, what not to do, that sort of thing.

I think this would be usefull in a tourny, you could use it as a reminder. when you know your about to play Sim, you can open t up to the Sim guide and and kinda do a little study before the test. Fresh your mind, know what I mean.

What do you guys think? I would definitely need input from everyone. And I know most of it's buried hear in the forums. What I could do is start a new thread that is titled Gen's Pocket Guide. And I will post a few characters to work on and everyone can give me feedback until I get a good slew of info and go on to more characters, etc.etc...

What do you guys think? Would you use it?

I don't think we should much speak of Gen's weaknesses on this forum, nor should we print them out or type them up anywhere. At least not yet. :P

Other than that it might be cool, not sure I'd use it often though but... well I'm not sure. It'd be good to study.

I would love it. It's why I wish every Gen player had a page like Jibbo's; I hear lots of juicy little tidbits throughout but having someone willing to compile it in one place for everyone would be invaluable.

That'd be pretty rad to do that in a match. Opponent would shat their pants something furious and smelly. The ultra would do like 70 damage but we loooove impractical Gen combos!

Can't you do more waterfall kick hits and still get the ultra in?

AND, he gets 6 waterfall kicks in. Ive never been able to KKK ultra after waterfall :xeye: its a sweet move to add between to Super->Ultra

Na, that combo is way easy. B-izm's would be pretty flippin hard. I've thought of alot of different impractilce combos.

I'll go ahead and do the deed for everyone and make an impracticle/impossible Gen combos video like;

KKK jhk X's2, PPP c.lp, mp, mk-hands, mk-hands FADC, c.lp, mp, mk-hands, mk-hands FADc, mp, KKK, c.lk PPP ultra. That should be about 35 hits.

And you could actually do 2 mk-hands FADC loops on B-izms combo because in the corner you can do Gekiro after KKK, c.lk without FADC

Very tricky to get ppp ultra after the kkk cr.lk, I think I've only ever done it like 3 times.

Not in the corner, it's pretty easy. It is difficult anywhere else tho.

Well, the timing is easier when your opponent is in the corner, and by the end of that long-ass string, your opponent is probably in the corner.

I tweaked the big list. Those are some nutty combos.

BTW, is s.mk xx hands xx FADC, c.lp, s.mp, KKK, c.mp, roll possible? I tried for awhile tonight and never pulled it off, but you can queue the double-tap on the FADC so early that I can't help but think I'm only a frame or two away from succeeding. Thanks for the vids!

Yes it does work. You can only do the lp roll, and it only works on some characters, and some have to be crouching.

Precisely. The lp is active in earlier frames than the mp & hp. thus making it easer to combo after the lp, mp, kkk, mp. the added lp pushes you just outside of range for the hp. Actually the lp is the only one that will work against all characters with the mp, kkk, mp. hp roll on smaller hitboxes will wiff, and it is safer even on hit since dp's and command throws can sting you if blocked from that range.

The 1st and last hits of the roll do the most damage, just like the Gekiro. It is safer to use lp to avoid the counters, unless you are garaunteed hit and/or you know that you are close enough that if bloocked, you will not be countered. Nothing more annoying than giving Gief a free Ultra!

Trust me, it has happened to me!

So many of these combos are insane.... I can do some of them but honestly even to learn some of them other than the flash factor after combo damage scaling it just doesn't seem worth it. Seeing his ultra do less than guiles super to ultra combo makes me feel like I'd be better off just re setting up and trying again.

Course I can't even do a fadc from mk hands mk hands fadc. I use the slide method and I just cant seem to move my hands fast enough since you have to hit the fadc pretty much as soon as the hands start.

I did this and got it up to twenty hits

This is what i use to train
PURE ( meaning hands is the only thing that hits)Fp hands 2 hits ~ fadc Repeat as many times as possible shits RUFFF
