if TvC has online-play like that (button lag)
when it comes to online play on a Fighting Game, a lag free net-coding is critical
HD remix, has great online-play
feels like ur playing right next to the player (Same goes with SF4)
only when u come across a player with a bad connection, online play becomes the enemy rather than the player

im not even gonna bother rebuying TvC if it has Online play like Brawl

Capcom's already said no to PS3/360 ports of TvC. They hinted at it being possible a sequel would hit those two if TvC does well stateside.

more stages, minigames, and online GGPO ( heck if its SF4 netcode ill be ok even if it is a bitch to play online with)

as far as balance and tweaks go even if you manage to "fix" stuff from the previous version the new characters are bound to be broken so i see no point, just give some characters more options to deal with karas bullshit, take out the obvious glitch bugs ( viewtiful joe glitch, soki karas OTG glitch, and all the other minor stuff ) and you will have yourself an even better game, altho i dont mind the current version already it just needs a bit of polish to make it shine.

Why get the Hori when MadCatz is bringing out an SE stick for the Wii? At the very least, that one's gonna be easier to modify with Sanwa parts since you wont have to do any physical modifications to get the JLF to fit into the casing.

Well, in spirit yes. They play differently though (in terms of basic strategy and how assists are used)

It's an enjoyable game though. Just don't jump in expecting MvC2 with differnt characters and you'll have fun. :wgrin:

They should have just released a JP version that had English and make it region free. Plus is this game has no online it will bomb as well. I really dont see how this online is gonna work bc Wii's online is pretty trash, unless Capcom dumps alot of time an money(which is hopeful since the release of this game was pushed waaaay off) to upgrade the online community of Wii for this game specificlly. An yea Karas got nerfed an im fairly sure Zero wont be super beast(if they learned their lesson from Karas in the Jp version). I do think that Tekkaman blade is gonna be alil op just from what ive seen in his demos.

Mario Kart wii online is pretty good. Friend codes are always annoying if you just wanna play with friends, but I found the speed at which a room came together in the non-friend mode to be pretty good, and the actually gameplay to be quite smooth.

How is the conduits netcode/overall online experience - thats the newest wii game w/ online play that I can think of.

I've played call of duty, mario kart, conduit, and mario strikers online and they all ran great. Just like playing with friends at your house. So I wouldn't worry about the netcode, i'm sure it will be playable.

The only thing I WOULD worry about are the online features.

1. Probably no rooms to watch other people play.
2. Fighting someone who's great at the game and you can't even see his name.
3. Fuckin friend codes.

I know the roster doesn't have to be even. In most Vs. games, it's usually Capcom's roster that outnumbers the other group. Doesn't make sense for capcom to have more playable tatsunoko characters then Capcom characters when it's their game.



EDIT: Wasn't aware of the genie not being replaced. I thought I counted the same number of characters with both compaines on the wikipedia lists before Yatterman 2 was annouced. I probably misscounted.

Normal for any joystick AFAIK. The stock stick is a little stiffer than a JLF. It seems like a quality part to me.

Well I picked up my copy at lunch today. I checked out training mode and then went on-line for 2 games and wow what a cool game. Also my connection with my opponent was just as good as my ps3 or 360. My Wii unlike my ps3 and 360 has a wirelss connection. The game played fine. Cant wait to dig into it more tonight. I also cant wait until I get my ps2 to wii converter. Playing with th wii mote isnt great. I guess I could use my gamecube controller until it comes.

Once in a while, there's lag. (Like 1 in every 6). If it don't lag, there's no button lag. There hasn't been a lot of overused characters except Ryu. You can tell you're playing a pro by the characters he's picking. (This is if you're facing someone with the title "beginner")

Honestly who takes playing online seriously? There isn't 1 single fighting game that plays flawless online atm. Everyone knew before hand that there was going to be lag issues, especially on a free network like Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. I don't know what rock you live under but get out of your house. Find your local fighting game community and play the game how real fighting gamers play. The online feature is just there for kicks so relax.

and 3rd. its not like taking the online playing "seriously", its more like i was looking foward to have fun playing online like i do in my other systems. If you're not gettiogn full speed in any of your games (ruling out the possibility that it's isolated opponents) your connection is most likely awful. I've played the game both wireless and wired, and it almost always ran full speed. The issue with lag is with the input delay, which the wired adapter helped considerably. games with people at least somewhat close on a good connection are damn good, games with people further away are quite a bit noticeably worse

Online runs fine for me and I'm using a wireless Nintendo USB connector. I can't expect perfect, lagless gameplay, of course, but it does just fine to me. Some matches are really laggy, but the only thing I experience is some slight input delay like some others in this thread. It has very playable online in my opinion, especially if you set it to "Local" instead of "Worldwide".

Can't expect too much from online though, it's not going to be perfect, and it's just a way to play others without leaving your house and have fun. It's better than having no online option at all.
