I went 3-2... Ran into a Sagat that I almost beat but forgot that I did a cr.lk x2 oicho set up in the first set so when I tried it in the third he jumped back into ultra. :rofl:

I'll admit Akuma is out of my learning curve... But I did pick up Mr.White Gi himself so anytime I run into something that I can't fight or a 7-3 match he comes out... Basically your secondary needs to cover your bad match-ups so for Us Honda players it's either Ryu/Sagat/Akuma or Boxer.

uggh that makes two great honda players that jumped ship after evo? You'd think honda was a lost cause lol. Maybe the game isn't quite as balanced as people thought?

I am thinking about picking up Ryu as a second. I literally cannot play any other character in Street Fighter so I think learning someone like Ryu will increase my basic understanding of the game.

Abel has f.MK... but yeah, besides that his normals are ass. His AA game has plenty of issues too, which is part of why I don't bother using him when I've got Honda. Between Honda, Dictator, Chun, Boxer and Blanka, I've pretty much got my bases covered at this point (Fuck shotos, I just can't learn to use them with their mediocre normals). Right I just need to get c.LP and and the electricity loop down, but I'll need a stick for those.

Sagat's not the problem, it's Dhalsim. Everytime I close my eyes I see it. I'm waking up in cold sweats because of it.

It's hard to believe, but after fighting one of california's best dhalsim's a few times, you realize sim is beatable. You gotta randomize your gameplay a bit and get into his head. RH splashes, ex headbutts and jumping short make getting in against dhalsim easier. Once you're in, meaty him on wake-up to prevent teleport and prevent him from getting away.

Don't be afraid to get hit by sim cause his dmg output is crap and his hp is awful.

Sim is beatable but.. still your hardest match along with Seth. Sagat would probably be there too -- if anyone was actually good at him.

The main problem with USA hondas is that everyone wants to hit with ultra. Every single time I saw Honda playing at evo it was just a matter of time and desperation until random ultra came out. Honda is not bad like Blanka, but everyone has that mindset.

Anyway, I guess unlike everyone else, I feel better about Honda after Evo. I lost to random balrog crackfiend in 3 because I secretly don't really play IRL and therefor have little rog exp, then won for a while in losers before being eliminated by t8 Dan and a parade of low fwds and fireballs. It was close, and at one point I was pretty sure I had it.. lost first one 2-1, then won 2-0, then was 1-1 and I couldn't quite get there. Ryu is tough but Honda can definitely be competitive. In any event, even if I had beaten Dan next match (for t8 iirc?) would have been vs Sim....

tldr honda is great and i am best ;p

Crackfiend isn't a random balrog haha. He's probably one of CA's most solid rogs. He's got better footsies then most and doesn't miss links like every other evo scrub rog. Gotta outpatient the guy cause he knows the match-up fairly well. He actually almost reverse ocv'd the entire midwest team in 5v5 if it hadn't had been for fubarduck's wake-up demon. The sim was going to be either Fareed, UTJ or Arturo. UTJ and Arturo understood the match-up but I'm not sure about Fareed.
